...Jorianth? Oh. ********. Jorianth! Talbar was stupid when he was at full speed, but with his incoherant mind you could have just labled him brick. He allowed himself to be carried off, shuddering at the shadows that pulled at him.

His hold on the people inside's energy severed and relief would flood back into them as their energy was slowly, VERY slowly, replenished.

At least Talbar was out of the way and it seemed as though help had arrived.

One of those solid stares found Rouge from Nicolai, the sort that tell you 'Isn't it obvious?'. He shook his head and gave a deep, strangled sigh.

"Especially look after her," he continued, as if to ignore her question. "She's guardian-less now."

Even if he had resented the condescending way she'd looked at Wiko, and even if he hadn't seen her before today, she... shouldn't have had to do that. What else could have been done? Nothing?

It would have been better than that.

The new voice caught his attention. Someone else? His hands tensed on Akori, despite the somewhat... comforting tone coming from this new being.

" You wanna risk hurting someone with cross fire so you can keep dragging Kay around, besides she can dodge from this postion she can't if she's busy moving or at least she'll do it slower." Malen too could feel his enegry draining but he was running on adreniline a much mower powerfull energy. Not that he needed to waste any of it arguing with this kid. At Kay's command he ceased fire and waited , she was the only one who knew what was going on. The new spirit's arrival confused the ******** out of him and he remained silent in shock.

During the firefight Kishi had made her way to playpen and was now shaking life a leaf but looked determined to defend it along with the adults. Much like her father Kishi was stunned by this new person's entrance and stared confused.

Art looked up at the figure that had banished the evil baddie as a mommy would bansih a bad child to his room. Was this fire? was this a form of light? or another evil?

"Moon." she felt it returning. Since Xerk was being unresponsive she looked at the litte girl who seemed scared beyond belief. She wobbled over to the girl and the winged boy. She smiled and repeated, "Moon! ok." It was going to be fine, she felt the moon.

All right?... it was supposed to be all right?

Vana was limp, rag-doll. She wouldn't move. She refused to. She wasn't gonna look at anyone, she wasn't gonna do anything. They were all lucky she still bothered to breathe just now. What had happened... she just couldn't....

A Guardian's bond was strong. Hers and Danny's was... had been... very strong. Danny had worked so hard for her, to understand her. It hadn't been an easy relationship, but her Guardian had worked for her.

And then it was all just... gone? How could a baby cope with that sort of loss?

There was someone staring at her. She felt a warm presence from them, a strong sense of kindredship. At just that moment, though, she just let the senses wash over her and pass. The world was too much for her to keep up with, so she would be a rock in the water; swept away by the current, without ever knowing where it was taking her.

Realizing what the others must have, and hearing Kay, the shooting stopped as far as Kyo was concerned. Bitterly, the woman moved to her feet, rushing away towards Iamel, Yashima, and Kay. They would have an adult with them to help. If anything, it should confirm Yashima's suspicions that Xerk was here. While Kyo could do many things, she could not raise the dead, and didn't wish to. She knew too well what that would entail, medling with the dead.

And when the thing was swept away, she was very much confused, but waited... What would happen next?

Xerk grumbled, hanging from Rouge's hand and licking at the one that was bitten. The images came to him, and those slanted gray eyes blinked. A burst of light. 'How?' He was willing to forgive her for now- he was curious. The new thing got his head to turn, leaning back against the pen as he tried to see.

Yashi ignored Malen; stupid man. Thinking he was so smart because he was bigger then the other was.

He looked to his brother, who was leaning back against the wall, eyes closed and breathing deeply, and then moved over to the baby pen where the screamies were. Without a Gaurdian? ...that was right. The girl, he'd met, and he had forgotten she had a little female thing.

Yashi hadn't liked the female thing.

"Not good." His voice is a murmur, fingers moving to touch that all too familier play pen. The dark haired girl and the angry-looking toddler caught his eyes. Despite it all, the gold eyes lit up. "Xerk. So you ARE here."

The squid-boy got hair. That was a little bit sad. Vine-girl, however...

His lips pursed. Not good.

Rouge looked up at him. "I don't like to assume things that I don't know for sure." she said softly before hugging the little girl again and placing her back in the playpen to be with Oak. "I-I don't know how to deal with this...."

She had been able to handle it-losing her Mama. It had been painful yes, and she'd cried for months, refusing to talk to anyone. But she'd been older then Vana was. Much older. How was she supposed to help this child? Closing her eyes Rouge felt tears trickle down her cheeks. Slowly she took a deep breath and opened them again, keeping her eyes on the children. She had to keep a brave face on. She had to set a good example.

Art looked at Xerk, and his sudden speach, she shook her head, it seemed as though light had come on its own without their help, but if she needed to still she'd remember to let him in on fire.

The god stopped shooting as he felt a drain at his energy again that doubled him over once more with stomach pains. they were a bit more severe than they had been, but he managed not to drop the weapon. He had more than enough life energy to spare, but having it drained was still far from comfortable.

Once the troll left, he felt the energy start to come back again; this feeling was about equivalent to having a roller coaster suddenly reverse direction, and as his stomach lurched at the feeling, he let out a gasp of pain.

But Rouge's example wasn't so good. Putting Xerk back in the playpen she pulled her lighter out of her pocket. It needed more fuel, which she gave it. And then she began to flight the lighter on and off, watching the flames.

Ari blinked and looked up from the couch, "Kyo what happened?" she asked the woman faintly, as she felt her strength slowly re enter her body.

Coailiann calmed down enough to prevent hyperventilation, and now that this new spirit was there and had apparently saved them all from death, the girl quietly crept toward Danny's body and knelt beside her.

She was dead, she knew it. There was nothing the small child could do, even with her minor healing powers. That was all they were, after all, minor.

All she knew was she lived because this woman died - and it tore at her, badly. Now that there was a lull in the commotion, she wondered if it was okay to cry now. Her little hand took ahold of Danny's cold, limp one and she whispered a traditional gaelic prayer.

"Go n-éirí an bóthar leat, Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl, Go lonraí an ghrian go te ar d'aghaidh, Go dtite an bháisteach go mín ar do pháirceanna, Agus go mbuailimid le chéile arís, Go gcoinní Dia i mbos A láimhe thú."

May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Energy was returning. Whatever took it- most likely the nasty troll- was gone. The two had both retreated, leaving their chaos behind.

Stupid lunks. Mother- He cursed mentally. At least they could have stayed long enough for this to have had a POINT. What do we have now?? Someone's dead??

Nicolai's fists tightened and he turned to check on the children again. They were up to their own things, and Wiko was perfectly content to... sleep. He was asleep in all this??

Maybe that was a good sign....

Kay's singing came to his ears, surprisingly pleasant. In his mind he followed, knowing her sentiment. Poor girl...

Snorting after the troll as the thing was swept away on the shadows, Jorianth lowered his hands to his side. All monotone, he let his eyes drift over to those assembled- falling especially on the body of the girl laying dead on the ground.

Silently, he waved a sensing hand in the direction of the fallen. Nothing; it seemed that Talbar had taken all the life force this girl had to offer, leaving none of her essense left.

"... It would seem you have suffered losses," he spoke to the group in general, his tone flat as he walked carefully forward to take stock of those assembled. Having developed a good measure of their strength, he worked his lips into a severe frown. "That was very careless. You will need your numbers to defend yourselves; Talbar is not the only threat to fear, and far from the worst."

"I am Jorianth. It seems very fortunate that I spotted you when I did, or else that," a nod to the fallen Guardian, "may not have been your only casuality."
