I thought 'ka and 'to' were used in the same sense(what's what my books tell me, anyways) to and ya can be use in same sense, but ya is for more vague thing, like this that etc. but to is and for sure soshite is and between 2 things,slightly formal.

Oha!!! My Japanese is so rusty I think perhaps I belong in here...and I'm starting Japanese III...-sigh-....I'm going to have to do some major catching up before class starts...but yeah...*ahem*...

Question: Is "kaiteiru" the correct way to conjugate "kaku" into the "-teiru" form? I think I may have confused it with "kau."
