For a moment, Austin just squinted at Caroline -- frowning, not exactly trusting, his head tipped and his eyebrows pulled together. After all, the last time he'd really interacted with her, Austin had set her on fire -- and with good cause. Add to that the fact that he couldn't exactly make out what she was offering him...
he lowered his gun, just a little, to take the glasses from her, thumb leaving a nasty print right in the middle of one lens as he put them on, testing. The style didn't exactly suit him, and it wasn't quite his prescription, but it was close at least. It would just leave him with a small headache, probably.
"Where'd they come from?" It was begrudgingly grateful.
The hook at the end of her line continued to cut through the snakes skin, but since it was so large it wasn't doing much damage.

Rook stabbed the snake again, though he might have focused on an area further down the body, away from the mouth of sharp teeth. But of course, it didn't stop the tail from slapping him.

Cecil traded looks with Justin just as unsure about what was going on as he was. Maybe he should ask later once everything had settled and they didn't have shotguns going off every few seconds trying to keep the strange creature at bay.
He watched Austin and Liam a moment longer before he focused back on the problem at hand.

"Someone left them behind," Caroline readily answered in the exact same tone, not the slightest bit bothered by repeating herself. "Maybe something wanted you to have an answer to your problem. It fit the pattern right. Then had it all set up to return to equilibrium. Or...close enough."
As she inspected the glasses on his face, she tilted her head to one side.
Sharing the look with Cecil, he followed suit, shooting in tandem with the grey haired man. "Barbarians?" he had to ask out loud when he heard Kammy. Sometimes Justin just didn't understand her.

Gravely deep voice of dissaproval is present.
He was running out of shells. There was only two left. Frowning, he slid them home, cocked the gun, and brought it up to his shoulder again. By this time his ears were ringing so bad he thought they might be bleeding(they weren't), and the shock from the recoil was doing a number on his already sore body. The slash across his shoulders hurt, a constant throb at this point that was too distracting to simply ignore.
Still, he tried, firing off a shot, but this time it sent him back a few steps, had him catching himself with a hand on the wall. Then dropping completely when the snake lashed out angrily and took out his legs with a swipe of it's tail.
Out of ammo at this point, even if he'd had it in him to get back up and fight, he didn't have the choice. He'd have to go back down the hall, find his bag, and the shells tucked away inside it.
Instead, he turned and sat against the wall, grimacing slightly before laying the gun across his lap and clearing the spent shells from the barrels.
