My idea was
Escaping the Monochrome World
The roleplayers group together and try to find the basic colors [of the rainbow]
In order to bring color back to the world. That sounds like a lot of fun! It's also a great challenge to make monochrome avi's, and I do see that growing in popularity. I've always liked the idea of doing one but accenting it with a small touch of color somewhere, which would fit the theme nicely! Sounds rather interesting (⌒▽⌒) In the video game De Blob they did a similar thing where the world had grown boring and dull due to corporatization and mechanization, and bringing color back included the return of music, art and fun. I wouldn't want to do a direct rip-off, but the return of music, etc. could tie in nicely to the ball theme.

Gwendolyn Barrett Not sure if this is good Idea but Some thing to do strictly with the Victorian Era. Queen Victoria and King Arthur are the main host and Co-host, their castle is the main room The other rooms are Noble Houses that are have parties of their own as well. The host and secondary host would be the Lord and Lady of the house the co-hosts could be children, maids and butlers I have no idea if anyone said anything about this the way I'm thinking...considering I can't keep up with all the pages but.. I keep thinking of Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler somehow worming it's way in, no? xD;

MAYBE... song based theme? Not the actual story line of the song but similar?

x_Silver_Starlight_x Alias Facade Just something that I've been mulling over since I saw it earlier in the thread and I was looking for clarification: There has been concern regarding copyright/intellectual property infringement getting in the way of what we use as themes/characters/etc. Is that really an issue for a forum-based event like this, especially one made by volunteers without any profit motive? I should think it would fall into the same category as fan-fiction. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Fan fictions aren't technically legal. Doesn't matter if there's profit or not (but this is a profit site, even if we don't profit ourselves) Fanfiction can be removed at any point if the authors or publishing companies say so. They can even sue. Most don't, but there are some who are bit...iffy to say the least. Not worth the risk. Exactly... At one extreme you have authors like H.P. Lovecraft who during his time period [ie. when he was still alive] would allow others to write stories based on the mythos he created and even profit from said works of fiction. At the sheer opposite extreme, there are music artists I will not name that have hissy fits over their fans making fansites that don't have music downloads and are just how much some kid who makes it likes that music group.

I think it's fine if a guest decides to show up with their Kuroshitsuji OC only because it's an open RP where people can come as they want... We just cannot use those characters ourselves. Sure some theme suggestions would skirt the line a bit like anime genres or video game genres, but that just means that the room hosts would need to be extra diligent in making sure that they are not being too similar.

As a Romantic Comedy. It's not bad, but I don't recommend it if you're not into to stuff like that.

I used to but I got really bored with anime. I watch one every once in awhile when it's a really good one (Shiki, Ergo Proxy, Cowboy Bebop) but I prefer to watch cartoons now a days.
