Five stood and stared Alec. He barely budged as Alec hit him. It just... it just took more than that to cause anything more than mere cosmetic damage. There was a crack, but even as the computer stared Alec down, it sealed up by itself.
"You angry?" he asked coolly. "Good. You gon' need that. We ain' winnin' s**t if you gon' be mopey an' paranoid like Ialo. He know how to work his way to the top, but he ain' know how to compete."

Lin thought she heard a hissing noise nearby, but she was so focused on making the potion that she didn't bother to investigate what it was. Something that did catch her attention, though, was the absence of an ingredient. She could have sworn she brought the sapphire over to the desk, but she couldn't find it nearby.
She started looking around the desk, not once turning around. She started to open some drawers, thinking maybe one had been partially open before and the sapphire could have fallen inside. She would not look at anything else in the drawers. Just for the jewel.

Jack Magnússon BOOOOOMMM!!!! *is petted* Emm... oookay, personal space, GONE! Ah who cares... Being petted wasn't something Jack had really experienced. He didn't quite know what to do actually. Looking around himself a little Jack took a step back. " Maybe I came on a little strong or something..." He though " Aha, thankyou. It takes a lot of conditioner to make it this nice." He said with a laugh. This girl was a little strange, but she wasn't human it seemed, a Hanyou, whatever that was. Deciding to play along Jack took a few steps back and also made a pose, complete with little sparkley pops all around himself like glitter. " My name is Jack, excplosives extraordinaire! Or something.." He joked. Explosions were easy for him though. he had been using them all his magial days, it was everything else that seemed to be the problem. Diverting his attention from Athena for a second Jack looked around the different corners that he was faced with. " So, I hope you don't mind me asking but can you help me get somewhere? Infact, anywhere that isn't here... I know that sounds weird but I've never been in this part of the school so theres a chance that somewhere else is somewhere I would know?... OK, that did sound weird." He was beginning to get lost in hiw own words, nevermind the halls. But Jack hoped she would know what he meant.

Alec was about ready to start debating with Five, but then he suddenly started to agree with Alec, and Alec had nothing. Alec held up a finger as if to accuse him, got about mid way into a sentence, then just stopped dead. "We-........ Alright then. ....I guess...."
Alec wasn't used to having people act like this in front of him, but he guessed if Five was still on track with what they were doing then he was good with it. Alec coughed slightly into his hand to clear the mood a bit before he spoke again. "So, yeah. I really hope you're not the only ones who plan on racing. Like I said, we'll need as many people as possible."

Ophiuchus continued to watch Lin, stepping back and to the side, always staying behind her, our of her peripheral vision, never making a sound.
Of course, he was a little irritated that Lin could so easily go through the shelves and find his stashes of rare ingredients, but overall, he found it very impressive. The girl had gall. She had initiative, and she had drive. And she obviously seemed to know more about his room than he did!
He smiled, watching her look through the drawers of his desk. All he had in there were hall passes and paperclips, blank paper and pens, and other odds and ends.
The little garden snake hissed again, and Ophi just smiled softly. Lin really didn't belong here. She was too talented for this school. She needed to intern with a professional healer.

Five opened his mouth to say something, and was interrupted by a crashing fist, force enough to knock him over where Alec had barely moved him.
"You," Seven said to her brother. "No. More. Talking." She was so embarrassed, and in front of Alec too! It wasn't supposed to happen like this, they were supposed to all get along and... well, that was a massive failure on her part. No one ever got along with Five. Not easily, at least.
She frowned at Five, and then looked up at Alec. "I know Zero won't race," she said. "But I think everyone else would... it's just a matter of whether or not you want to lead fifteen of us in a race for all or nothing. We all have different personalities, you know. It takes a lot of patience to deal with my family."
There was a beep from Five, and then the sound of a operating system's start-up sequence.

Lin gasped when she heard a loud hissing sound behind her and instantly grasped her pendant to put a water shield around herself. The shield glowed brightly and waved slightly with ripples. She quickly straightened up, having been bent over looking through the drawers, and spun around with a fierce look on her face.
When she saw Professor Akakios in front of her, she blanched. She glanced at the snake he had in his hands and realized that was where the hissing had come from. How long had he been here watching her? Had he seen her speaking to her headmistress? Had he heard her say that she was surprised MFHS would have such advanced potions and ingredients here? Had he seen her go through his drawers?
... How long had he colored his hair black and decided to wear darker robes?
"Profe... Professor Akakios, hello..."
Her face now blushed and she looked shame-faced. She let the shield drop from around her and sighed.
"I am so sorry, Professor. I was looking for a sapphire that I have lost and I was looking through your drawers. They were kept shut with a simple lock spell, and I know an ancient elven spell that undoes simple locks. I have never used it until now and I wouldn't have if the ingredient wasn't so rare and important!"
She sighed and looked down at the ground. "That is still no excuse, though. I am very sorry."
EDIT: "I also used the unlocking spell for your shelves of ingredients."

Athena happily bounced up and down at Jack's display. "I love explosives!" she bubbled, and her tail wagged very enthusiastically--as if her reaction wasn't proof enough. "So, you have no GPS? Well, good thing you found me! I can get to anywhere from anywhere however you like. But I'm better at navigating to the cafeteria and from the vents." She smiled. "The vents are actually very simple! And sometimes they're cleaner than the hallway."
She paused for a moment, smiling. "But anyways. Let's go... this way." She didn't really think too much on where they were headed overall. "Right now, we're across the school from the cafeteria and halfway from the Headmaster's office. We're kinda close but not really to the clinic. Down the hall should be a boy's bathroom and the auditorium." She began walking backwards as she talked, though she paused now in case he wanted to speak, too, even though she often got used to either not saying anything at all or doing all the speaking, so it was hard to do something in the middle.

((Haha, if you need someone that's able to deal with a variety of personalities, Athena is actually good at that. Then again, having 11 siblings would do that, wouldn't it? Especially when there are about 9 pets.))

 —¤÷(`[¤ Dai Leanna Summers ¤]´)÷¤— Oº°‘¨Half Human Half Shapshifter¨‘°ºO
Walking into the school, it was new to her and looked almost scary as Dai got farther inside. Having had to move in the middle of the school year, she probably had a lot of catching up to do for the past couple weeks she had missed. Her eyes scanned looking for any signed to tell her which way she should go to get to her class, she really didn't see any which made her grumble softly from her throat. Having gotten her schedule in the mail, she already had memorized it but unlike her school there had been no map with that schedule. She started to walk, hoping that maybe she would be able to find the location of the office or headmasters office. The inside looked huge to her, being somewhere new and she knew she may not make it to any of her classes today which would be unfortunate. "Too bad they don't give you a guide the first day." Missing her old school, it was frustrating she had to leave, she hated what she had become and had been pushed into accepting it too quickly.

Jack Magnússon BOOOOOMMM!!!! Fooood food food... This was kinda nutty, she seemed to have loads of energy for someone her size. Jack was the same though, well almost... His energy was magical not sugar rush style. He followed her down the corridors as wondered how she didn't walk into anything going backwards but at the mention of the cafeteria Jack suddenly felt a little peckish. " So have you been at this school long? Oh, cafeteria... Shall we go there? it's usually pretty easy to get outside from there and I do believe I'm starting to feel the need for some sort of snackage. Feel like Grabbing a bite to eat with me me? We can eat it outside! I love eating outside. Hmm, sorry I seem to be rambling, but if I'm honest you're the first person I've spoke to today haha!" He could see some bits of himself in Athena, she seemed pretty hyper and Jack did talk an awful lot sometimes. Well, he did need some friends, he had been here long enough without really having many people to talk to. Looking up at the ceiling jack began to think about some plans. If everything went well, in ten minutes he would be sitting outside in the refreshing air with a bunch of grapes or something. Jack was a big fan of healthy food, healthy body equals a healthy mind which in turn kept his ability to concentrate on magic sharp. He looked back at Athena bubbly walking along in front of him. Things were looking up.

Athena nodded. "Sure! I could go for a plate of caprese right about now... Do you prefer going the traditional way, or would you mind taking a shortcut through the vents?" She pointed upwards, head tilting to the side in question. It took approximately ten minutes less to go through the vents. She could try, of course, to just pop them both into the cafeteria with a bit of magic, but she hadn't quite gotten the hang of teleporting more than one living object. Many a fly had died in her attempts... But no one cared, because they were flies.
She didn't care if he rambled. It was someone to talk to who wasn't a teacher! Yay! (Or 'dead,' like Danni, of course.)

Ambrose glanced down at the gash in his arm. He was about to refuse, just on principle, when a not-so-gentlemanly thought popped into his head. Lin, healing him, touching his arm. "Ah, yes...yes, thank you." He managed to get out, blinking. _________________________________________________
Poopsie sat in one of the two recliners in Cook's living room in front of the unlighted fire, the chair's generous material practically swallowing him up. Two of the dogs were sprawled at his feet, wrestling over a hunk of rope.
He especially liked sitting in this chair, the one Cook set himself down in every night after the kitchens were closed up. As Danni's quareen, he shared her memories, and, when he really wanted to, could call them up at will. They were always so much stronger when he stood where those memories had taken place.
And there were only good memories here. Strong, happy memories, content memories, gentle memories.
Mama had loved this room, with the big roaring fire and sprawling dogs, the generous chairs and picture frames. Even now, as he closed his eyes, memories flashed into his mind, clear and pure.
Mama, younger than she was now, all rebel as she sat cross legged in front of the fireplace on the rug, staring into the flames, contemplating, just begining to dare to trust that she might be welcome here. Mama, wrestling with the dogs, her laughter free and bright as her face was covered in dog slobber.
Mama, curled up in one of those chairs with a book, reading glasses perched on her nose, her eyes dreamy as she read-secretly, always so secretly-of castles and princes and fairytales. Mama, her eyes closed in contentment, her head on Cook's lap as they looked silently into the fire together, happy to be lost in their own thoughts.
The kitchen was a happy place too. Poopsie had eaten Cook's chocolate chip cookies at the table in there earlier, kicking his feet in the chair as he'd closed his eyes and taken it all in. There'd been laughter in there as well, and contentment. Joy at the simple triumph of making a good batch of cinnamon rolls for the first time. It was a happy house, he thought. He liked that, for at least a while, his Mama had lived in a happy house.
