SOLs: Standards of Learning. Basically Virginia-wide tests on various subjects that are the bare minimum of knowledge you need know for said subjects. You have unlimited time, and it gets done very quickly, but you take @ least 3 hours in the morning for each SOL you have to take. You're not allowed to leave, so boredom sets in quite easily.

Ah, Virginia state testing. I've got my chemistry state testing today and tomorrow. >< They asked about nuclear reactions. How the heck do we know anything about that? And they have very badly worded open response. "How do you stop the silver from tarnishing?" Well you could paint it, but we'd fail with an answer like that.

I'm weird, and have already taken the SATs twice. 7th grade I had 1010/1600. 8th grade was 1290/1600. PSATs ths year was 2080/2400.

I actually enjoy taking those kinds of tests. I always do pretty well on them.

I did pretty well on the PSATs... don't remember what I got though...
and yes, we have the option of takig the ACT either instead of or along with the SAT...

OH, well up in New England all I hear is "SATs!" I dislike them because they are tests and I realy don't want to take a three hour test at 8 in the morning on a Saturday, but I'm intelligent so it's nothing that'll hurt me.
