There didn’t seem to be anything warrior related in her collection, which struck him as mighty odd if her brother was just going to leave her alone like that. Now how was she to fend off anyone with an odd-looking top thing? Terrible!
"Oh yeah?!" He cocked an eyebrow, adjusting his hold on Flef who was watching Julie curiously as she stored her things away. "Well, where would he go? This place ain’ all that big so I’m sure he ain’ gone far!" He huffed his chest out and took a gander around; the crowds were starting to shrink as people started to head on out from the fair, but that just made it all the easier! "Do you have somethin’ of his we can use for tracking? I can show you how to do that and we’ll find him easy!" Esben paused though as Julie inquired about his pokemon, brow furrowing as a frown crossed his face.
"Wha’?" He took account of his pokemon again. There was Byr who was huffing in a rage off a little way away, clearly annoyed at being stopped. Teeg was there and he had Flef in his arms… where was Isi?
Huh… Byr! Where’s Isi?"" The Viking called out the Teddiursa, who jumped a bit, startled. The little brown bear took a moment to look around for his companion, seeming to realize that he was very much missing before looking back to his trainer uncertainly. Uh oh.
"Hmph well then, we gotta track down Isi and your sheep! And then we can track your brother too!" There was clearly going to be any lessons in tracking at this moment. "In fact, maybe they’ found your brother already! I bet that’s what happened!"

After a series of less than enjoyable interactions, MD was now attempting to leave the carnival as quickly as possible. Which involved some running. Which, after finding the remainder of his team, is exactly what he was doing, Along the way the tickets they’d earned had been promptly dropped after nearly tripping over some kids. Oops! While someone was fleeing, someone was following, and Ashley was in hot pursuit about ready to finally complete this silly mission he’d been on for like a thousand years. Julie pouted a bit as she pulled her bag back on. "I dunno," she admitted, "The lady said he went off with someone or something..." She looked around, looking a little uncertain and nervous as it seemed everyone was leaving. Was the carnival closing...? She shifted her weight, then looked back at Esben and shook her head. "I don't think so. He usually kept his stuff with him... He wouldn't've kept it in my bag at least," she commented. She reached over and gently tugged his fluff, before nodding to the booth. "C'mon, you shoudl choose your thing and we should go ask if anyone's seen him. I don't think the carnivals gonna be around much longer..." she commented. She waited anxiously until Esben had chosen his prize before the two moved off, searching for their pokemon. She manage dto find her sheep, but the white one seemed to think this was a game, and Julie had to proceed to chase her and try and tackle her, before wrestling her down, and returning her, along with a very unimpressed looking brother sheep.
Flustered and clearly bothered by her brother's lingering absence, she tried to flag down some of the carnival workers, only to be told it was closing, and they had better hurry to exchange their tickets if they wanted to get anything, having noticed the ones clutched in Julie's hand, that she'd wrestled away from her sheep mareep.
Far from reassured, but not wanting her plushies or tickets to go to waste, she dragged Esben about to do so, fervently searching for her brother, distracted all throughout. And when her sheep mareep released itself and tried to steal one of the prizes, she found herself short of being able to buy it for her pokemon, which seemed to distress her even more. Thankfully... someone hadn't wanted their tickets, and the man behind the checkstand tentatively offered them to help cover the difference, clearly uncertain, but pitying, over the young girl's worsening situation.
With everything bought, essentially, she stuffed them all into her bag, before turning to Esben, face muddied from her battle with the sheep mareep (who now happily chewed on the round marble-like ball Julie had bought her) and expression dour. "What now, Esben?" she asked sullenly. She'd tried everything she could think of.

"Huh," Her brother had just left? "Did he have somethin’ important to do? Ulla and Eskil go off all the time without me for important things!" He commented, trying to give reason to this disappearance. He might’ve been nine, but he could sense that Julie didn’t seem all that comfortable with her brother’s sudden disappearance.
"Really? Nothing?" That’d make tracking even harder, but he was sure there were some tricks he could pull from memory to help them out. As Esben thought about their options, he felt the tug on his fluff and opted not to swat at Julie this time for it given the situation, temporarily delighted in the idea that he could get his own little goodies. He was still looking for armor and weaponry.
"Alrigh’!" And with that he followed along with her, assisting in the search for missing pokemon (and maybe keeping an eye out for the dragon slayer should they appear as well). After being tripped over by some running adults (bastards), he managed to stumble over Isi, who’d found his way to one of the apple barrels chomping an apple the attendant had given him upon seeing the poor creature looking distressed. The Cubchoo jumped up and rushed to cling to Esben, who gave him a pat on the head and a little scolding for wandering off like that, with Byr following suit. The young Viking didn’t miss the disastrous play that occurred between Julie and her sheep, rather surprised that the fluffy creatures could cause so much trouble. Scary.
Once they’d reached the prize stand, Esben tried his best to determine what he could get. After watching Julie’s exchange, he handed over all the shreds of paper he’d managed to find (he supposed it paid off that he’d gain some from those adults tripping on him) and after vigorously pointing at things he couldn’t afford and nearly threatening the attendant (for all the good that did) he managed to receive a few items that the attendant swore would ‘make his pokemon stronger’. A likely story that, if wrong, would result in Esben hunting the fellow down someday as retribution.
He retrieved Flef from the ground after shoving the many things in his pack, looking first at the sheep just gnawing on the odd ball before focusing on the frazzled Julie, like a real warrior! "Well first you gotta buck up!" He announced, puffing his chest out. "You can’t be lookin’ all sad like that! That’s not how a warrior works! The dragon’s will eat you up with that kind of look!" Because that was absolutely the kind of pep talk an individual up. He looked around at the dying remains of the carnival, rubbing a hand under his chin as Flef chirped lightly in his arm.
"Hmm… I know! Let’s go check outside the carnival! Maybe your brother went there!" He remarked, pointing past the gates with a grin. "He couldn’t have gotten far! He seems like Duncan, and Duncan can’t move all that fast. So come on! Let’s go look!" This time he gave her a little tug on the sleeve in urging, before turning and starting to lead the way outside the gates and into the swamp. This was certainly a wise choice, no doubt!
