Oswald wasn't happy that he didn't get to punish the team that caused harm to his teamate. But his team was top priority so he followed Saraka but slowly as he was frustrated to follow her pace. Seeing that little buddy is something that he needed to do.

§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ SasseliaArgenia ------------ Well... After page 25 of reading up on the Ursa, the female was a little bored. Closing it with a quiet sigh, she placed the book delicately on her lap, closing her eyes with a serene look. Fresh air... And its quiet... Perfect... despite the people walking about. Could use more... Vacancy. Unfortunately vacancy was not an option, especially upon hearing her name. "Sess! Don't you look one with the Vale!"
Her eyes casted towards one of the remaining sextuplets in her family. Husky Argenia. The oldest of the tuplets, the way to tell him apart from the rest of the brothers was by his eyes. The left was green and the right was blue. He carried the blue hair of the Argenia to a par, with shaggy and loose blus hair that stopped at the nape of his neck. Compared to her height the tuplet was four inches ahead of her, the second tallest of the bunch. Jory, being number one in that department. Husky was the number one of the bunch for being the most carefree. It made him reckless at times but it was also what made him stand out. Just like that current moment passing a small group of females with a nod of hello.
With a casual wave, the brother had approached her after returning his attention back to her, setting his tush beside her giving her one of his carefree smiles. She only scrunched her nose a little in response, sitting up better after crossing her legs. "Hmph. I see Vale hasn't lifted you out of your shell Sess."
With a sigh, she rubbed the back of her neck before speaking to him, contradicting herself in the process. "I have been trying to... Speak out. One can only go so far before the rest may decide to reply as well... It is not like I am trying to be a lone wolf. My voice will not come out." ".... You are speaking to me just fine no?" "You are family Husky there is a difference dear brother." "Not really much of a difference. You just need to take a deep breath and go around and talk! I know you like to observe but observation can only go so far." With a chuckle, Husky hopped off to a stand, reaching his hand out towards her. "Come one. Lets practice with a few around here." "Are you nuts!? No way!" "Heh it is not that hard! Go up and speak! Introduce yourself! Talk about the weather!" "I am not a child to be coddled dear brother! I shall when I am prepared to!" "You are going to that dance are you not~?" With a silence to that answer, Sasselias' brother patted her head. She slapped his hand away flustering. How did he know she was even going to the ball!? Oh riiight. Most likely Jorys' doing. Hiding somewhere snooping! "Well then you better get talking or else you will freeze up there!" with a laugh the brother dragged his sister books and all around the courtyard, trying to get her to introduce herself. Boy.... Was he in trouble later.

"My heart is to the past but my soul and mind are to the future."
XXXRecovery itself had been a long journey since the day she was lulled to sleep in the medical tents. If those around her watch her sleep, they could see her radiating in tranquility now that her mother's curse had been lifted from her by the aid of Kail. Though Yui was uneasy and quite wary of what was happening to her, that didn't compare in the slightest to the intense exhaustion from both the physical pain and mental torment that she was subjected to the days prior. Whatever weight Kail had lifted from her shoulder's, it was truly a blessing on the poor girl's heart. Who knew how much longer she could have endured with such a soul-crushing grip around the withered ember that represented her very being. Though unknown to the two of them, by expelling the aura from Yui's back, the two of them may have very well saved her life. While Yui could feel the anger and rage radiating from Kail's own aura, Kail would certainly feel the malicious intent that was seeping beneath Yui's skin. A curse, through and through, that was effectively dispelled and hopefully wouldn't come again. Unknown to Yui herself, Kail had blocked off any and all attempts of contact that could've been made by her mother. Surely, the only method that could get through was the woman coming to the academy directly, which was far too dangerous.
The next couple weeks went by relatively smoothly, while Yui was building herself back up to peak condition. As stated, the recovery time took longer than they had hoped, simply due to how far she had fallen in the few days due to whatever the malicious aura was doing to her. In the meantime, she took the opportunity to get to know her team better than she already had. One of the members, in particular, Sakura, had been especially diligent in taking care of her teammate and giving her unwavering support. The sweet girl had already been the most caring member of the group, but it seemed some sort of flip had been switched in her mentality that put a prime focus on Yui while she was still getting her bearings. Perhaps the most surprising thing about it was not that she was taking her time and being patient with Yui's own recovery while aiding in any way she could... Instead, it was the hugs. Before coming to Beacon, she received a hug once in a blue moon from whenever her aunt had appeared, or her brother long ago. It wasn't until she met Kail that she received a hug from someone that wasn't related by blood, nor under family obligation to treat her with kindness. Though in a different set of circumstances from Kail, Sakura seemed to be showering Yui with hugs whenever she hit a rough spot or just wasn't feeling up to it. As much as it threw the girl off, it was rather nice... She couldn't sense any malicious intent, or that she was trying to get anything out of it. Rather, just the good in her heart. ... What she did wonder, however, was what caused the sudden splurge in these actions? They were present before, but something had clearly given her the motive to be more diligent in her actions.
In this time of recovery, her favorite teacher made a point to continuously check up on their team, as well as Yui herself. Not only did Yui have some recovery to do, but her teammate Ren also had to do his own recovery from the mattress incident. Leading up from that day, to two weeks later, the day had finally come that Yui wasn't the most excited for. Apparently, Beacon was hosting a ball of some sort, though Yui herself wasn't familiar with the concept. The closest inkling she had to the idea were the stories that she heard from Lafalle on occasion, of magnificent events that could be held in a high or low-class society where people came together in stunning attire in a show of elegance. It was fairly common among higher society, however, the Lioncourt Family only attended such events if it meant making a good public impression. Otherwise, there was no value to it. Though Yui had intentions of staying behind, due to plans with her aunt, whether she liked it or not, that didn't mean she couldn't help her team prepare. Or rather, that didn't mean she couldn't help Kail prepare. The teacher she had grown so fond of needed assistance with a dress, and not only Yui, but the others of team OHKY were more than willing to help. To aid them as well, a special member of the Lioncourt Family had come to visit the academy to help Yui and some other students with their ball wardrobe. With her aunt, Yui and the rest of OHKY were able to determine a proper dress and help Kail get herself prepared for the ball. They were delighted to help, in all honesty. At least, Yui and Lafalle were. The snake teacher seemed to have a fondness for kimonos, so the dress of choice clearly matched the same traditional fashion with newfound elegance. Honestly, it was beautiful. However, apparently, Yui was to stay behind with Lafalle to finish up her own preparations, even if her team was reluctant to leave her in the hands of any family member. ... With some convincing, their worries were curbed enough to leave Yui and Lafalle to their own devices with the promise to meet with them later.
... Now that Yui was alone in the presence of her aunt, the woman began to work her magic. Certainly known as one of the best seamstresses throughout Remnant, or what remained of Remnant, Lafalle had no intention of failing to live up to her title. "All right, Ma chère, let us begin les transformation! Be taking the seat, will you!" Now that they were alone in the dorm, Yui had been clearly instructed to wear only the most basic necessities to prevent her from being completely nude. Not that it mattered in the eyes of such a close family member, but... There were still customs, and those customs must be followed. Sitting simply in underwear as well as a light cream top that blended in with her skin, Lafalle would begin her world. Aura would radiate through the room as her multiple suitcases would begin emitting a rich blue aura. With a threaded needle clenched between her lips, as her most trusted fabric scissors in her left hand, she would snap with her right as the suitcases burst open and fabric began to unravel around Yui. "Worry not, Ma chère. Tonight, I am not being the brightest in the room, but you. Yui, you will be a étoile brillante." Lafalle was a woman who radiated in confidence, and nothing else. Once the woman had set her mind to something, she would follow it through to the end no matter what she had to do. The woman had the alias of the Mad Hatter for a reason, and her brilliance only amplified her eccentric behavior.
With several swipes and clips of her scissors, as well as her needle and thread dancing so seamlessly through the air, the vivid light show of blue, white, and cream would continue to dance around Yui's figure in a medley of beautiful colors. The fabrics continued to swirl like a vortex around the girl, while the woman slaved away endlessly through the rows of fabric to stitch them into place on her niece's figure. Unlike her other projects, while they did look truly magnificent, she had to focus more on the functionality than the apparel department. After all, those girls from the era of MAKO, none of them followed the way of fashion and elegance that Lafalle or Yui had. Not that Yui had a choice, but rather, she didn't have it in her to disagree. Indeed, unlike Yui who so willingly let her aunt work on her dress, the others had to apprehended and forced into dressing. In comparison, Yui was a walk in the park to the others who tried so desperately to shred her to pieces. That's why this young girl may have been her favorite, simply due to her calmer nature. "Yes! I am seeing it now, the true beauty of the autumn equinox! You will not be needing the colors of orange and gold. No no, tonight we are to capture the essence de l'âme." Fitting into the shades of the season was all too simple to fit into the fall ball. No, instead, Lafalle intended to capture the true beauty that lied within Yui's soul. The small ember that needed to be kindled until it was a roaring inferno.
The first layer began with a cream fabric that matched her very own skin tone. Something so simple, but was the foundation to Yui's essence. Next would come to the thin and draping white fabric that stretched to the ground, stemming from the cream foundation. Cream and white, so simple but blended so efficiently. They were to be a canvas so that Lafalle could capture the essence of her niece. "Aha!" At that moment, Yui found herself surrounded in a vortex of blue fabric as Lafalle's scissors began clipping and snipping at such an amazing speed. What began simply as a vortex of blue would begin to shape itself into an indefinite number of petals and roses from the darkest shades of blue that began etching themselves against Yui's newfound canvas. Yui herself appeared to be such a wallflower, observing and learning, so lost to the outside yet still so beautiful. A heart blue to the core, a girl lost to the world around her, wanting so desperately to learn and grow. To live. This was Yui's essence, and it now decorated the entirety of her dress in a pattern of blue laced roses. Truly, it was brilliant and oh so beautiful. Lafalle had managed to do it once again, to capture the essence of someone at their very core within the seams she sewed.
Just like that, the fabric that danced around Yui would fall to hundreds of lifeless scraps on the floor. Being the last of Lafalle's stops, the woman had used the last fraction of her aura that she could muster to use her semblance for her dear niece. As exhausting as it was, it was worth it in every way. With the widest and most sincere smile, the woman would twirl her fabric scissors on her index finger before sheathing them at her side and sticking the needle in her hat. "Done it I have! Perhaps the best of my work, you are being the thrilled! Now now, none of the peeking! Hair is next, makeup being a must!" As energetic as her aunt was, Yui herself couldn't even begin to dream to muster such a meaningful expression. Though her eyes held a look of adoration as well as appreciation, the poor girl still had trouble conveying her own feelings. A sense of unease and angst, a part of her that wished her aunt didn't go through such trouble for her. "Thank you, Aunt Laffee... You really shouldn't have..." Though the girl was curious, she still wasn't allowed to look at her aunt's work. Instead, she was forced to remain in her seat as her aunt continued her work. As appreciative as she was, the young woman let a silent sigh escape from her lips as she reached for her scroll. ... Though, lifting it up, her pale blue hues would light up in curiosity, realizing that it wasn't her own ... That's right, this was the one that the woman had dropped in the courtyard in the struggle. It had been two weeks, and Yui never got the opportunity to return it to her due to her own unstable condition. ... Perhaps that could change tonight.
As her aunt continued to work on her hair, Yui would begin to tap a series of buttons as the screen came to life. The moment the phone sprung to life, it would instantly display a message from a girl named. "Maria Sinclair..?" Soft words would whisper, before Lafalle's own ears would perk at the name. "Excusez-moi? Maria you say? Such a unique student! I did not know the two of you had met! Oh yes, a wondrous day today must be. Does that mean you have been meeting your---" Before Lafalle could finish her question, Yui would begin shaking her head in disagreement. She didn't know anyone named Maria, the name had never rung a bell. That being the case, how did Lafalle know of such a woman, despite not being affiliated directly with Beacon. "No... I don't... I found this scroll a couple weeks ago after one of the teacher's snatched up a girl with cat ears.." It was certainly an odd scene. At the time, she thought that she was dreaming, but it seemed that wasn't the case given she still had the scroll in her possession. Tapping on Maria's name, she would only read the most recent message... Which was attempting to locate the scroll, asking if someone had found it. Tilting her head slightly, some of Lafalle's words were beginning to connect. Perhaps if this Maria was a student, then she'd be at the ball, and... Perhaps she could return the scroll for her. 'Hello Maria, my name is Yui. I found this scroll outside a couple weeks ago, and forgot that it was in my possession. Perhaps I can run into at the Ball, so that you can return this scroll to its rightful owner. Could that be arranged?' Tapping send, Yui would then press a button so that the screen would go dark before settling in her seat once again. "If Maria is a student... Then maybe I can give it to her, so she can return it... Aunt Laffee, how do you know Maria?" That did raise quite a bit of curiosity in the girl. Sure, Aunt Laffee had a reputation around Remnant, but what were the odds that she knew a complete stranger by name who was connected to this scroll. "Oh! That is a simple answer, it is a secret!" Though a riot herself, Lafalle was often one to give cryptic answers instead of what anyone actually needed. It seemed the woman had many secrets she wanted to keep, and... Unfortunately, Yui could never bring them out of her. So, to that, Yui would ley an annoyed sigh escape her lips.
The clock continued to tick away as Lafalle continued to tug on Yui's gorgeous white locks, weaving them into a messy yet stunning looking bun that hung loosely at the top of her head. In terms of makeup, Yui was one of the many in this world that seemed to hold a natural beauty, but that didn't mean she couldn't use some sprucing. Blending together an uneven skin tone, darkening her lashes and lids to force her eyes to pop so stunningly, Lafalle surprisingly left the scar itself alone. Despite all that she could manage with the makeup, part of her felt that Yui's own beauty stemmed from the imperfections that she had... Whether or not they were given to her by malicious means. "Alright, Ma chère. The time of the revealing has come, please, be looking!" With a most gracious smile, Lafalle would raise Yui to her feet before spinning her on her heels towards a full-bodied mirror. Pale blue hues would widen before softening at the sight, witnessing the heart that her aunt had bared for her... How did her aunt put it? The essence of her soul? Slowly, her jaw would hang agape looking at the mirror, at a woman who she almost didn't recognize, but... Those eyes, that scar... It was unmistakably her. "Laffee... I..." For some reason, Yui's words were just out of reach. Her ribs clenched her heart so tightly, a bubble forming and pressing against her ribs so violently. Why though? "Magnifique, is it not? You are truly one of the most beautiful souls I have ever been meeting, but... Part of such beauty stems from what cannot be hidden." The scar on her cheek, the burns on her back, and the deep blues that represented her own distanced heart. Her aunt knew her all too well, far more than she knew herself. ... Suddenly, Yui would turn on her heel and pull away, taking off out the door with not even a scroll in her hand. Could she really go anywhere like this? With such 'bittersweet' beauty? "Oh Yui... You must be embracing it." Lafalle would whisper, watching as her niece ran out the door. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she picked up both scrolls, before noticing a preserved white rose poking out from her bag. ... The same rose that she brought to Lafalle after her day at the beach, wondering if there was a way they could save it from wilting.. To preserve an everlasting beauty. A small smile formed on her lips as she picked up the rose, before following after her niece.
... Where were her feet even taking her? Where was she going? The had already set, the evening was upon them. Thus... The courtyard was an entirely different environment once dusk was upon them. Heels would clack as the woman that now embodied a bittersweet beauty would continue to walk aimlessly. The poor girl left her dorm without a destination, without a goal... Simply letting her feet carried her wherever her instinct told her she needed to be, anywhere but there. Why didn't she fly? Honestly, she hadn't a clue in her right mind. It would've been so much faster, so much more efficient... Yet, instead, she continued to walk with her clacking heels, until she found herself at the fountain she visited frequently. ... Someone, this fountain at the front of the academy had become her go-to place, the first destination an unsteady mind would take her. Why? There was no isolation, no loneliness. ... Just running water, in the midst of it all. Steps that clacked ever so loudly finally came to a halt in front of the fountain, troubled breaths so desperately trying to escape her lungs. From the fountain, she felt a cooling mist from the pouring water, one that began to cool her heated skin from the needless strain... The pitiful display, leaving her aunt behind without so much of a word. ... At least, that's what she thought. Ever so lightly, a set of heels would touch down behind her, the soft beating sound of her aunt's own wings flapping. "Conflicted, you are? I am seeing it in your eyes, the scar lying on your cheek... The pattern on your back. Perhaps my Yui was wanting to mask them, but... They are you, and you cannot change that. If that was possible, I assure you, Ma chère, I would be using all of my powers to do that for you." ... Did this woman not understand? .. Did Yui even understand? Lafalle had always worked in mysterious ways, but what was the point in trying to make her beautiful for the ball if she was going to do so by using the essence of her flaws? ... The scars, the distance in her blue heart. What was the point in bringing all of those to the light? ... It contradicted everything she learned, everything her mother taught her. Perfection, flawlessness. That was beauty, not embodying their imperfections. Yui found herself biting her lip, trying to bite her tongue from talking back to her aunt. A woman who had only good intentions, but... Was it really that hard to see eye to eye? Or perhaps, it was Yui's eyes that had been clouded. "I... Just... Can't go like this. I'm sorry, Laffee.." There were so many conflictions inside her, a desire to understand, and a desire to break away from her reality. Yet, she couldn't, not on her own..
Lafalle stood in silent, but her smile didn't falter. Instead, she took a step forward and placed her right hand on her shoulder. "To move on, you must first embrace what you are. Have my words always fallen on such the deaf ears?" This was a dance that they've done before, the two going back and forth, simply because Yui's own mother kept carving in new thoughts and ideals within the poor girl's mind... Lafalle would always have unending patience for her precious niece, knowing that it wasn't her fault. ... Only, that they must continue to strive to work through it, or else... What did it all matter? In her other hand, she held the two scrolls and the preserved rose. The woman had no intention of letting Yui off the hook so easily, but... She would be patient, and let her niece breath. Something that her mother never would have done. Let her breath, let her think. That wasn't the way of the Lioncourt, but it was Lafalle's way.
Garret paced around his housing in Vale, wondering why he had to go to the academy tonight. Upon hearing of the student ball, he had expected to have a night free and was fully intending to go on a hunt after being cheated out of his last one. While he did kill the boar...A young tiger faunus and Rachel had intruded on his hunt. Having to subsequently escort the two after, primarily to ensure Rachel didn't needlessly endanger the students life again with her antics, he was unable to finish his hunt. He had intended to set up tonight deep in the outskirts, given it was a blood moon so he could safely go deep into the forest, but it seemed his employer had other plans. Autrox had specifically sent an order for him to attend it as well, for what reason he did not give and Garret was not one to complain about circumstances...no matter how much he despised it. He saw no reason to attend, Rachel and other teachers would be there to watch and guard over the students. He was given the role of academy courier, sure, but a courier as was his official title should not be needed there. He had a feeling Autrox had other ideas for why he was there, and may even enlighten him if he should find him there in the evening. 'He better be attending if he expects me to be there as well.' Garret thought to himself. Should the headmaster not be there, he would leave the event in all likelihood. Still, there was no use complaining or moping about. His answers would not lie in his room, nor would he be able to move on from this till he attended the event if only briefly. Looking over at his closet he would open it slowly and gaze inside. Despite his time here, and being well compensated for his work, he had not spent much on outfits save ones he would take out on his outings. Primarily the typical light armor he always wore, just multiple versions of it. While he was sure other nobles would not be caught dead in the same outfit being worn as commonly as he wore his, he usually did not care. It was functional, served his purpose, and would always be useful. Which meant in terms of formal outfits...he had been severely lacking till today.
He had chosen the outfit, plain as it was, once he had decided earlier that he would attend if only momentarily, on the off chance he chose to stay. It was not anything flashy or special, not something that would stand out in the slightest honestly. It probably was only borderline acceptable to be worn to such an event in the first place. But it was more freeing than those formal outfits others wore, and he liked the simplicity of it. Perhaps in the future he would get something a tad bit more embellished, but with limited time he was satisfied with his choice. It was something he may even wear on occasion outside of formal setting, which added to its value in his mind. With that settled, he left his satchel on his bed, not seeing a real use for it...As his eyes would wander over to his spears. He had read the rules, students were not allowed to bring their weapons...But Garret was no student. He did not know if there was some ruling that teachers or school faculty could not bring it, and as such there was nothing to stop him from bringing his own spears. Though even if it weren't allowed, he still would have brought them regardless. While their bright color would stand a strong contrast to his clothing for evening, it was not something that would bother him. 'Better for anyone foolish enough to try something to see I am armed.' He thought to himself. He had no doubt others brought their weapons, and while there was no fighting rule...He hoped there would be an event outside the event where some combat may be had. Smiling to himself, he would change into his formal clothes and equip his spears before heading off to beacon.
The trip through the outskirts was peaceful enough. No Grimm, unfortunately, showed up during his journey through it. And while he had left relatively early in the day, the travel time for going on foot did cause the journey to extend well past the sun and into night. The beauty of the forest, lit only by the pale blood light of the moon, was a sight he was not accustomed to. These only ever happened rarely, and as such he took his time while going through it to appreciate it. He was in no rush to attend the event regardless, and while it had an official time to start for students he felt his time of entry could be any time. Briefly closing his eyes as he listened to the sounds of the forest around him, of animals scurrying to and fro, flying overhead, and the rustling of some creature in the brushes...was a nice contrast to that of the city. He preferred it here, in the wild, than in the safety of civilization. Would it not be suicidal for him to try and claim a stake here currently, he may have even attempted to build a home here away from the stifling confines of Vale or even beacon. He was still on guard, for the most part. While Grimm may have been absent, there were still plenty of predators that could see him as an easy meal. But, in the dark of night, his hearing was the greater indicator than sight, so he felt comfortable enough to hinder that particular sense. Which, thankfully, led to a peaceful walk through to the woods as he finally reached beacon, entering from the courtyard.
Upon approaching it, beginning to hear the familiar sound of the fountain, Garret was surprised to see two figured beside it that seemed close to one another from his distance. Curious as to why others were not in the ball as of yet, as his excuse was the distance he needed to walk, he would calmly make his way closer to the two. One of the pair had their back to him, though had a familiar set of wings. 'Yui?' He thought to himself, curious if it was her. He had not seen others with wings such as hers, but that did not mean they did not exist. He did not like jumping to conclusions, so he would continue to study the features as he grew ever closer, noticing another woman accompanying her, though one that seemed a little older. While he did not recognize her, his eyes were slowly reasoning that it was Yui whose back was to him. Though he noticed some burns on her back, something he had never seen before in his time here. Not that he had seen much of her, regrettably. He had been busy with his tasks as "courier" and had no time to revisit her. He would need to ask how she acquired it later, offering a nod of greeting to the other woman who could see his approach as he was now much closer to them. He could also see the other had similar wings as well, potentially meaning they were related. Though...He picked up that the mood between the two was not the happy type. Yui did not seem, from his perspective, as proud and stoic as she usually was due to her stance and presence being far weaker than normal. 'Did she have some trepidation in attending? Or has something tragic come up just now.' He thought to himself, wondering at the possibilities. Locking eyes with the other, he would raise his finger up to his lips to gesture a silence to his presence as a thought came to his mind. He would quietly walk closer to Yui while being out of her line of sight, stopping only a foot or two away...Before gently tapping one of her wings with his finger as a smirk grew on his face, taking one large and quick step back in case she lashed out on instinct. He was not one to let others stay somber, if only to refocus their emotions on something more productive. Such as fighting him, or moving on. The past consumed those who could not move past it, and even though he could not move past his, he was not about to let Yui wallow on whatever it was that happened. It was not in his nature of Chivalry to let her go through it alone, at the least. Whether she turned to face him or not, he would speak in his usual calm yet confident voice. "Greetings Dove, its been far too long. Letting me sneak up on you of all things...Don't tell me our rematch shall be so simple next we meet?" He would keep his arrogant smirk as he said so, though his words were more playful than serious. For her, at least for now, he did not desire to drive away. Nor was it appropriate to do so currently. He would continue after a small moment to see her reaction as he looked to Lafaelle and spoke for once in a less arrogant and more respectful tone and even bowed once he finished speaking. "Apologies, I could not resist. I am Lancer, a pleasure to meet you Madame." He would then switch his attention back to Yui whether she turned to face him yet or not. "I see we've both been invited to attend this ball Dove. Though alas, there seems to be no fighting allowed in it. I would've very much enjoyed a rematch with you...Though perhaps we can yet find some sort of combat they would allow once inside? That is if you'll allow me the honor of accompanying you of course." Garret would say in his arrogant tone, hoping the friendly competition would help alight her usual fire. And he was asking her to go with him at the same time. Of all the people at the academy, the only ones who could keep him there would be Autrox or her. ✘ Post count: 41 ✘Semblance timer: 0/5 ✘ Recharge: 4/5 ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
XXX... Yui needed this silence, she needed to think... Her weakness, her flaws, her distant heart... Lafalle had brought them all to the surface, in a clash against the perfect ideals that Yui had been raised with. Mistakes and flaws, that's all she was measuring up to be.. Why would her aunt do such a thing? Why would she try so desperately to bring that to the light, instead of being removed or buried? It didn't make sense, and it was one of her aunt's many mindsets that she just had trouble understanding. In her moment of silence, the woman noticed a disturbance though. A tall man with black hair dressed so nicely, but not pushing formalities. With him were a spear of red and gold, a sight that seemed most familiar to the stories that Yui shared from her day at the beach. Lafalle's lips cracked open to call out, only to silence herself when she noticed the single finger that beckoned for her silence. A devilish smirk crossed her lips as she nodded, and continued to offer unwavering support for her niece. "It is being hard, this I know. I have being in your shoes before, at the mercy of the momster you endure. I have faced my many flaws, and made them pieces of me that no one can be changing." The woman's english was clearly broken, but she was certainly trying her best by putting herself in Yui's shoes. Yui's mother had caused pain to many Lioncourt's, more than either of them would ever know. ... Lafalle knew of what horrors she was capable of, though, by experiencing them first hand herself. How damaging her very presence was to the soul, an ember that she was trying so desperately to save.
It was clear that the girl's emotions were not stable. Anyone that could grasp the mood could surely sense that the air was thick with that of a somber aura. Yui's expression and mood was truly that of melancholy. However, the touch from an outsider would ignite the ember of her soul. Though the tap was that of a gentle nature, ever so delicate, it was still so sudden and unwanted. Yui knew that those were not the fingers of her aunt, but that of an outsider... An intruder that was not wanted in her presence, to see her like this. Her own somber hues would ignite with a deep azure as embers sparked around her. In the direction that unwelcomed company was, the embers would dance around her frame before turning on her heel ... Only for the ignited passion and spite to dull back to that of a somber gaze, rich with confusion and curiosity. '... Garret..?' With that realization, the deep blue embers that matched the somber tones of her dress would extinguish before they could even form the reflexive weapon. Those confused yet somber hues would narrow at the man who continued to radiate confidence as a second nature. "... It seems my recovery has left my senses dull..." A soft sigh escaped her lips, the sense of melancholy clashing with the Lioncourt pride that burned deep within her soul. Even in the most somber of moments, the descent of the Reveley seemed to know exactly what cord to strike to ignite the spark in her eye, even for the briefest of moments. ".. But I assure you Lancer, they will be sharper than your very spears when the time comes. .. So long as today is not that day." It seemed very unlikely that today would be that day, dressed as they were now. Even Lancer appeared to have a formal touch that stepped away from the normal attire that she saw him in that day. Did he intend to go to the ball? Yet, he still brought the spears of a brilliant gold and crimson? ... Then again, Yui was never unarmed, even with her tinderbox resting at her bedside.
A most playful smile crossed the older woman's lips as the stranger bowed before her, while she herself dipped into a most formal curtsy to return the favor. "Oh worry not, mon cher, the pleasure is being that of mine. I am going by the many names, but you may be calling me Lafalle Susette ne Lioncourt, the greatest seamstress in all of Remnant~" Lafalle was always one to toot her own horn, especially when it came with the chance to impress and snatch herself her very own prince. The man was well mannered and handsome, yet had a playful nature that she already adored. Her smile would grow at her introduction, before following with another statement. "So you are being the Lancer that my niece has told me about, yes yes? Such being a wonderful man that had made such a day in the sun into a memorious occasion, I see I see." Oh this was so exciting! It was as if she was meeting her own daughter's boyfriend for the very first time. She wanted to know so much about him, as well as thank him for giving her niece such a memorable first day under Beacon's jurisdiction. While Lafalle was fawning over the sight of such a man, Yui's own solemn gaze would remain on him, catching his own gaze turning to her.
Her suspicions were correct, and he was intending to head to the ball as everyone else at Beacon was. Something that she was intending to do hours ago, but at the moment she finally could... She just couldn't muster the strength to do it. ".. I'm honored, but.. I ... Don't believe I would make the best company right this moment.." A soft sigh escaped her lips. It was clear what he was attempting to do, to pluck at the strings of her heart with the competition that had brought them together in the first place. The temptation to challenge him to something once again, the rematch that they had been waiting for, was unfortunately still being drowned out by her own somber feelings. Her heart was a complex mess, the medley of confliction in her soul was growing worse by the moment. Such somber emotions mixed with her unclarity, being stirred up by the pride of competition as well as an odd feeling that seemed to muster with him asking her to accompany her. ... Just... What exactly was all of this? Why did it all have to be so complicated?
Despite how happy and go lucky her aunt had been, she couldn't help but let her smile falter seeing her own niece's uncertainty with it all. She knew she had caused her a state of distress with her dress, but now she couldn't even give a solid answer to the prince that came to her aid... What was one to do in this situation? ... An idea struck. With her wings stretched wide, Lafalle would step off to the side, but still between them before pulling the two of them closer together with her stunning wingspan. Yui was in no position to fight against it, so no matter if Lancer budged, Yui would still be pulled closer. Once the man was within arms reach, Lafalle would pass the preserved white off to him, one that must have looked so familiar. "Ma chère, Yui... Look at it is that you are doing. Think about what it is that you are saying. Even if for but a moment, you should be attending the ball, more so than ever. You have a dazzling prince, a friend, who would like to attend with you. The ball, it is a requirement, and you must make the best of what you are dealt. I am believing in you, as I am sure your Lancer is. ... Besides, I am knowing of one contest that you two must-win, together." If the two had come in closer with her wings, a playful smirk would cross her lips while tucking the scrolls into Yui's own palm. "I am seeing it now. La King and La Queen, of the autumn ball~ No? I am leaving it for you to decide." Pulling away from the two while keeping such a playful grin, her wings would flap proudly as her frame was lifted from the ground. "It has been the greatest honor meeting you, sir Lancer! Please do be taking care of my niece, and show her yet another most wonderful time with your presence!" With a final flap, the woman would take to the sky, leaving the two to themselves... Yui herself, speechless at the subject, only looking upon him with a distant gaze... One of uncertainty, though her internal conflict had slowly begun to diminish. "I.. I apologize, Garret... Aunt Laffee, she can be... A bit much..." Wings would settle as Yui took one small step back, creating the smallest bit of difference from the forced comfort zones that her aunt tried to establish upon them. She just didn't know what to do, what she wanted to do... Yui knew very well that the ball was a mandatory subject, it was part of the reason why her team even went. After all, none of them seemed to be interested in such a thing. It was partly her who talked them into going, and now... She was being so hypocritical, and not going herself. Not to mention how she had Lancer, someone she did truly consider a companion, wishing for her to go as well... Perhaps they would find a new contest at this event, as they had before, because that's what their relationship thrived on... Competition and honor.
As Garret had hoped, nay expected, his tap had caused Dove to ignite in fighting spirit. Something he enjoyed seeing in her, as it could match his own in intensity for competition. As she turned heel, probably to attack whoever disturbed her, his smirk was in full display as she went from ready to kill someone to confused at seeing him there. He did like making an entrance in some form or another, after all. He was almost hoping it reignited after she realized it was him, a nice spar would go a long way for the both of them after so much time has passed. But, given their own codes of honor he knew she wouldn't and not to expect it. He wouldn't either, it would be unfair of him to do so. Hearing her response, though slightly disappointing, made Garret hide a small genuine smile at hearing the fire still buried beneath the somber air around the girl. 'Even down, she still burns. A true warriors fire never dies, its only ever dimmed.' He thought to himself, even as she quickly returned to her darker mood. To her words of her senses being sharper than his very spears he could only nod in acceptance of her. No words needed to be said then, he knew she could do that much and he expected it of her when he faced her again. It was then, while facing him, he took notice of her attire and the scar on her cheek. Another injury he had yet to see, and knew to have happened at some time between their last meeting. While he desired to know of its origin he kept it to himself for now. The time for questioning her in that manner could be left for later. Her dress was rather elegant and beautiful in his mind, it went well with the warrior donning it. Her hair was done nicely too, though other than looking nice Garret knew little else of how to gauge it. He was not one for fashion, but he could at least recognize when something looked nice.
After his bow, he noticed the woman accompanying Yui return a formal curtsy in return. Not something you would expect of anyone that was not noble or directly tied to them at the least. As she began to speak, Garret could ascertain a passion rarely encountered in others in her greetings and introduction alone, as well as likely being an energetic person from what he could tell. It was all an assumption on her words alone. but the energy and mood he could gather from her seemed to lead to that. Something for her to take note of for her later to see if it were true or not. Upon hearing her full name he understood her relation to Yui now, and why she herself seemed well mannered and formal. 'Ah, another Lioncourt it is then. Though her name differs from Yui a little, so I doubt she is her mother. I wonder how exactly they are related.' He thought to himself. He had not expected to see another of Dove's blood honestly, partially because he had seen very few nobles and almost subconsciously viewed them in the same way as him. Which was to say he never expected to see another Reveley as he was the last. The darker thought did nothing to affect his mood for now though. More so thought and curiosity than a realization. Hearing her call herself the greatest seamstress in all of Remnant, Garret had to wonder how true that was. She could be truthful or inflating her own reputation, but only actions would prove that. However, at the mention of it his eyes did invariably travel to Yui's attire and back to her, as if silently wondering/ asking if that were her work. Still, before he could vocally ask it seemed she was eager to continue speaking with a smile of her own. Seeing as she was not finished, Garret remained in polite silence as he was curious what she would say next. Hearing that apparently his name was talked of, and that it was a good day, his eyes would briefly glance at Yui before back to Lafaelle. "If I recall correctly, she is the one who saved me from a day of peace. It was a memorable day for me as well, but I am glad to hear I have had a similar impact on hers as well." He would respond in a voice void of arrogance for once, but instead sincerity. He would have been fine with a day of peace, and would have preferred victory, but he did enjoy that day. It was rare to have a challenge between warriors of noble blood, and so it was a welcome treat.
It was then, as his gaze rested on Yui, that she would respond. Saying she was honored but didn't believe she would be the best company at the moment. Garret was about to intervene but he noticed Lafaelle seemed intent on doing something as well. She stepped to the side and spread her very large wings around the two...before he felt a pressure on his back urging him closer to Dove. While he didn't budge from it initially, he gave one curious glance to her before allowed himself to be led as he slowly stepped closer of his own accord. As he wondered what she was planning, she would suddenly produce a white rose once he was in arms reach. Taking it gently in his own hands as his gaze traveled to both Yui and Lafaelle...As far as he knew, no one knew of his propensity for roses or what they truly represented with him. But given that Dove had mentioned him to her, it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility that it was the same one...After all, they were not expecting to see him as far as he knew. He held it gingerly as she spoke, careful not to damage it as his fingers lightly went over it...wondering why she went through such effort, if she did, to preserve it. He agreed with what she was saying, as he moved his gaze solidly onto Yui at this point. He was not about to let her bail from the ball no matter how much he wanted to earlier. They could always slip away later if anything, but he knew she at least needed someone to cheer her up a little. 'If only to ensure we have countless competitions to come.' He thought to himself with an internal smile. He did, however, give a questioning look when he was called Dove's lancer. He hardly thought he was anyones...but given what she was saying he would bite his tongue for now. Especially at the mention of a contest to win as he felt his competitive spirit flare at the prospect. He always loved a good challenge. However when she mentioned king and queen...he looked slightly surprised and shot a look at Yui of genuine surprise at the suggestion. That was not a competition he was thinking of entering, especially as the academy courier with a student...He wasn't sure if that was allowed for the most part.
Still, it seemed she would be making her dramatic entrance before he could truly question her on it. She began to fly off then, a convenient escape it seemed, while requesting him to take care of Yui before flying off...not giving him a chance to reject if he was going to. He probably would not...but the option was now taken form him, and he was certain she did it on purpose. His gaze would then travel back to Dove after the relative bomb that had just been dropped between the two. She seemed equally as surprised, and apologized for her as she took a step back. He took a moment to think in silence, his gaze remaining on her as he himself did not move save having his fingers go over the white rose. While he was one to rush in at times, he knew when to do so and when not to. Now was not one of those times. After a few moments he began to speak. "No need to apologize for Miss Lafaelle. She is a...interesting person, to say the least." He would pause then as ideas began forming in his head. An arrogant smile again forming upon his lips as he held up the rose to just under his chin. "Though she seems to have left me with little choice. It seems I have been assigned to you for the evening, and we both know I am not one to go back on my obligations. It may be a challenge though in getting you to enjoy the evening as much as last time, there is no fighting as far as I know." He would say, more so jesting than actually being serious about being forced to do anything. Giving her a playful smile for a brief moment before he continued in a more serious tone. "I would not go with you if I did not think you would be good company. I know not of what has happened, but I know the fires still burn in you. So I would be honored to go there with you if you shall have me if only for a few moments. I shall admit I was hesitant to come as well, had I not been ordered too I would not have." He would pause, and feeling impulsive for once he would step forward, closing the distance she reopened between the two. He would raise the rose above her head, and gently stick it in the back where her hair was bunched up. He wasn't sure why he chose that spot, but it felt right. "Besides, we've been given a challenge. We can't very well let others best us in competition, It'd be unfitting for us to be beaten. We did say that day long ago that together we would be unstoppable, and I am no liar. Further...I cannot do this without you." He would speak, his arrogant smile returning at his own mention of competition but his words for once sounding genuine as he took a step back to give both of them some space. Though their time with one another was short, for him to say he needed someone else was not something that many who knew him would ever imagine coming out of his own mouth. He would hold his hand outstretched towards her as he spoke again with a serious look. "Shall I have the honor of accompanying you, Dove?" He would ask softly, his eyes locking onto hers as he asked. ✘ Post count: 42 ✘Semblance timer: 0/5 ✘ Recharge: 5/5 ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

XXXPerhaps she shouldn't have told her aunt in such detail about the events that had occurred at the beach. Her mother managed to get the information out of her through some malicious means. Lafalle, however, was a completely different story. The morning before her departure, her eccentric aunt had done such an amazing task in talking her up, that Yui honestly couldn't contain herself in talking about her day. Perhaps the only person alive that she would so willingly spill her heart for, she told her of all the silly and embarrassing things that happened during her encounter with Garret. There was no question the impact that such a memorable day left on her, and that was clear in the sentiments that she held both the rose and volleyball that she had been gifted with. Personal belongings in terms of trinkets were very few for the Lioncourt, unlike what some of her teammates may have had, but the preserved rose and volleyball did hold a special place. Knowing all this, there was an odd sense of relief knowing that Garret to, had enjoyed his day. A sense of worry had plagued her heart until her mother reconditioned her, knowing that she had interrupted a peaceful beachside slumber by quite literally stumbling into his life. So knowing that held no hard feelings towards it was rather comforting.
Though such comfort would begin to fade into a sense of uncertainty. With only silence following the exit of her aunt, as well as her apology, it was her overactive mind that began to betray her once again. ... Yes, such an overactive mind. Now that Kail had her cease taking her mother's medication, and treated the aura infused injuries that were burned into her back, her mind had begun to wander far more than it would previously. Such independence, such an imagination, all being suppressed by an unknown malicious intention. In all honesty, she didn't know what to do with such an open mind now. Even now, her mind would race at whatever was going on through the mind of her companion. Perhaps he didn't mind the presence of her aunt, or instead, it made him disassociate from her. In the silence, the sounds of crickets chirping and running water would grow louder and louder. As if a clamor of screeches and crashing waves, the sounds became oh so overwhelming. A soft sigh escaped her lips as the image of a fountain overflowing with the waves of an ocean began to seep in. In her own internal reality, water would begin cascading out the edge of the fountain and rush past their feet, washing up against her ankles with a cool sensation. Perhaps she was ready to flood her own internal world if it wasn't for the words of Garret who broke such a bitter silence.
In a matter of simply blinking, the flooding waves would retrace its path and vanish into the fountain. The clamor of screeches from the rhythmic crickets would dull into a most tranquil melody of the night, an ever so soft emphasis to accompany the words of the man who stood before her. An oh so familiar smile crossed his lips, one of arrogance as he held one of her prized possessions to his chin. "That rose... When did she..?" In Yui's own inner turmoil, she hadn't even noticed that Lafalle held the rose she kept so safe in her room, only to pass it off to the man who gave it to her. A mix of curiosity and wariness began to swell in her chest, an anxious bubble that could only wonder what was crossing such a mind for someone she admired. A feeling she wasn't use to but was forced upon her with the series of events that have unfolded on this very night. ".. It goes against your very nature, I know... It is a similarity that the both of us share.." Hesitant words would agree with the man, knowing all too well that it was impossible for him to back down. After all, they followed a similar path, whether or not it got them into trouble. After all, it was the same sense obligation that caused her to go back to her mother's manor, to receive those books, only to receive a punishment. Even so, she would've done the same all over again. On her word, and on her honor, which was something that Garret would surely agree with. Perhaps such a remark about fighting would've cracked a grin on her on a better day, it wouldn't receive such a reaction. Merely a gaze, before those same blue hues drifted to the floor. As much as a good duel or challenge would do her good, it simply wasn't something she could manage in mind or body.
With a solemn gaze towards the ground, it was his next words that seemed to spark something in the kindling of her soul. Words of sincerity would come from a normally so arrogant individual, ones that would resonate within her core. A chain reaction that caused such a spark on kindling to ignite once again, to fuel the embers that had burned so low. A sense of mutual respect, no matter her own sense of apathy and distance. A verbal outreach to call her back from distancing and disengaging from someone who could actually relate to her, to keep her from running away and building the very walls that her mother wanted to contain her in. It was the step forward that managed to pull her away from such a mentality. Blue hues would blink as she felt something placed within the bun of her hair, tugging so firmly as the leaves anchored the stem in place. Confused, a pale blue gaze would look up to meet his own, her once so solemn gaze beginning to fade into a sense of acceptance as the light began to return to her blue eyes. ...'With the combined efforts of both our lineage, none will stand in our way.' ... Those were my words, weren't they? ... If I let such words lose their meaning, then what good would I be in our future duel? ... What good would I be as a Huntress..?" It was the memory of that day and their battle on the beach. The two of them coming together in unison for a battle of the hearts and declaring themselves as the proud fighters they were. Truly, if they stood together, they could not be beaten. It all began to click together, feeling the weight of whatever plagued her heart begin to lift and ease as the burning passion of the huntress that wished to stand by his side as a worthy adversary would begin to burn so brilliantly once more. A sight that could be seen within her eyes, a flame burning so brightly. Such vivid, burning blue eyes would look down as his hand outstretched towards her. There was only a moment of hesitance, before such a gaze returned to his, locking in place. She no longer bore such a solemn expression, but one of serious nature that cracked the faintest trace of a smile as she nodded. "Such an honor is mine, Garret. We have a task at hand, and it is one I couldn't accomplish without you." Ever so gently, her palm would rest against his, fingers curling softly against his hand as she stepped forward. For the first moment today, with Garret by her side, she felt like she could accomplish anything, that she could face the world, even if she bore her deepest flaws in a most beautiful way. "Would you please lead the way?" Wings would enclose on her back, holding the scrolls tightly in her free hand as she waited for her escort to lead their way towards the ball. After all, the two of them had a challenge for the night, finally. Even if the odds were against them, Yui was certain that if the two stood together, they would accomplish anything.

Narx interrupted her speech with a hand right after she showed him the bar code. He then blinked unsure what to say nect. Then he blinked once again for a silent and awkward moment. He couldn't help but let a small chuckle escape his mouth. Then he started to really laugh. He didn't want to hurt the poor girl's feelings but she was clearly mental. "Wow! This is some kind of prank isn't it? Who put you up to this?" He started to look around expecting to see a group of people laughing at him as he was told his extravagant lie, but there was no one which was a bit offsetting to say the least. He still turned around fully ready to give her a long spiel on how none of this was possible."First of all, I don't recognize you...Ora Demonhorn, or whatever it is that you call youself. Oh yeam... Valkyrie--"He stopped at that name. A burst of pain echoed through his cranium. An ear splitting scream raked his mind causing him to suddenly drop to his knees. His breathing instantly went heavy. A vision splashed through his mind of some bloodstained battlefield. A goat faunus was standing there. Standing over a human to be precise. Then she ended him without mercy. The poor soul looked right back towards him. The vision blurred and ricochet him back to real life. He saw the same girl. She was standing right before. Only one word escaped his lips. "Valkyrie."His mind flashed back to several other similar scenes. A tear escaped the side of his eye as he murmured under his breath."No...No...No... this isn't--"He didn't want this. he didn't want these cruel memories back. He didn't want to see people die. He grabbed the shirt by his heart as he tried to suppress the feelings. What was this... Was this his past? He couldn't bear to think about it so he closed his eyes and shut out all thoughts. Focus Narx. Focus. His breathing was ragged for a while, but soon returned to normal. He stood up slowly. Reaching for Ora instinctively to help him up as if he had known her for years. He found a pillar and quickly walked over to it and leaned back against it. On the opposite side so his group couldn't see him. It took a while for him to regain his cool. The worried eyes of random students soon returned back to their fun as he would appear okay."No."He would say firmly."I don't know what you are talking about. I do rememb--" He hadn't remembered anything in a long time. This was actually his first time utterly those words."You. Valkyrie. I remember you. Faintly, but its there..."His eye filled with fear.. She was a murderer. A ruthless murderer. His eye twitched. Something he used to do, but hadn't done in a long time. She was a murderer. Or was he wrong? What he saw was a memory was it not? Was he also...'Our people' echoed through his ind. His mind went numb. He had to get out of there. He couldn't spend another second in that room with this.. this creature of death. He trembled."I- I can't..." An arm shoved her to the side without thinking. He burst past her and aimlessly ran into a group of other students. He gasped for air as he pushed passed them and ran for the exit causing a great disturbance in his wake. Nothing else mattered. He needed to escape and then he was gone.
He ran and he kept on running. He couldn't let these memories come back. He woudn't. If he was anything like that crazed killing machine he wouldn't be able to live with himself. Time passed in a blur. A while later he found himself sitting on a bench in the courtyard. Staring at his hands. Mind numb.

XXXThe last couple weeks have certainly been a busy one for a lone shark faunus. Following the unending hangover after dragging that rabbit boy around for far too long, she realised that she hadn't actually prepared a class this time around. Given the circumstances of her last class, it was ill-advised to spend extended time in the outskirts of vale once again for class. Until she was able to find a way to maintain safety and order during such an open lesson, her survival of the fittest class had been suspended for the time being. So... What to do? What could this meat head of a woman throw together last minute in order to make an interesting class that neither she or her students will get bored of? Despite her survival of the fittest class being banned, she was still a survival teacher! So... What were they going to survive this time? .. It seemed so obvious. They were going to survive against Grimm. Last time, it was the random variable that a pack of grimm invaded the class that costed the lives of two students. Clearly, the students of Beacon had far too little experience in combat with their natural enemies. It was Rachel's role to take it upon herself to ensure that these kiddos had a chance out there in the wild, by meeting grimm in a somewhat more controlled environment. So... A mass message was sent out to all those who were attending to her class, that it would be held within the courtyard. This time, she even specified to come dressed for combat. She wasn't going to discard their weapons this time around, unless they were just too strong with them.
"Alright Kiddos. My name is Rachel Anderson, and you've all made the mistake of signing up for survival class. Come prepared to fight tooth and nail. As for what, weeeeelllll. That's just gonna be a surprise for you guys~ Head over to the courtyard, and we'll get started ASAP."
The message was pretty straightforward. Come decked out ready for combat against an unknown force. Was she going to pit them against each other? Pit them against her? Well, that was just for them to find out. For the duration of this class, the courtyard was under restricted access for only those who were attending the class. After all, Rachel needed a large open space for all the dangerous antics she was going to put them through. Upon arrival, students would see a number of large containment units littered around the courtyard. All sorts of beastly sounds could be heard resonating from inside. Growling, buzzing, hissing, but whatever was inside was kept hidden and obscured from students getting a peak. On each cage, there was a piece of paper with the words crudely written out. Do. Not. Touch. ... Unless you wanna die." ... Pretty straightforward, as was the way of Rachel. Despite the area clearly littered with containment units, the goliath of a woman was nowhere to be seen. Where was the teacher, and what would the students do upon arrival?

Koryn had already been awake for a good few hours, her sleep cycle as a butterfly just wasn't the same as all the humans around her. She received the text on her scroll and after finding someone to read it to her, figured she may as well head to the courtyard in advance of others. She always enjoyed being first, being the teachers pet at her own training growing up.
Koryn floated just above the ground, her wings carrying her forwards as she moved towards the center of the area, eyeing up all the crates around her as she felt movement from within every single one. "Oooooh I wonder what this is going to be like!" she said to herself, as she then looked at her own hand-made outfit and dusted it down, making sure she looked nothing less than perfect in her eyes.
Then she saw it, unfortunate for everyone else. Her eyes were drawn to the cage in the center of the courtyard, she could sense movement from inside the cages as she moved close enough to one of them to see a small sign on it. Koryn didn't learn something before she moved to Beacon, she didn't know how to read - however, Eira had been teaching her in their free time so she would give it a good shot.
"T..t-..toch?" she stammered to herself as she read the paper, "Dieeee?" again, not understanding anything at all. So instead of doing what any student with common sense would have done and taken a step back, Koryn floated around the cage and began to knock on it. Whatever was inside began banging the cage back at her, which got her more excited.. no surprise.
"Oh my goodness!!!" she said, a large grin on her face. "Wait until the others see this, I've got it all excited to meet us!! Whatever is inside, I wonder if I can release it now, maybe we can be friends!?" she said, again floating around as she looked deep in thought, still knocking on the cage and making small squeals with glee as whatever was inside kept knocking back.. just much harder.
Kail walked to the courtyard, holding her cane in front of her, using it to go back and forth. She wasn't looking forward to today. Today was the day that she was going to fight the student named Feralis. She did her research and saw his, tragic past. His semblance was a curse. If he used it, he could lose himself. She understood why he was challenging her to a fight without use of her Semblance. She had other ways to fight, but using thermal vision would help her. She would have to resort to things that she did not like to use, like marking one with Aura.
On her side were two bags, one with Felicia, the other with Marcus. Bowie was around her neck, as Bowie gave her helpful squeezes to avoid certain areas.
Feralis was still angry at the events of the last night. He had decided to leave a bit before the ball would end, mostly because he noticed how close Princess has been and that she had noticed his presence. And also partly so he didn't eat kendall. The damned cat didn't know when to shut up, and knew just what to say to get him angry as she always did. All thoughts of apologizing to her had long since faded and almost been wiped from his memory entirely. Seeing Maria had been a happy moment for him soured by that cat. And, of course, she couldn't even let him try to be nice. She had tossed her damn heels at him when he was leaving to avoid the other cat fro crying out loud!!! Which had caused him to promptly turn around and pounce on the cat. The only thing stopping them from devolving to a ball of teeth and claws was the even more damnable robot intervening, not letting him rid the world of the cat once and for all. He had left fuming afterwards, being denied time with Maria and revenge on the mangy feline. He hadn't even bothered staying in the ball at that point, content to just leave it entirely like he originally planned to do anyway.
Two weeks later and he was still mad at the cat but he had more concerning issues for now. Each and every morning since that day he woke to a horrific sight: princess was always hovering right above him. The first day he almost didn't notice due to tiredness and almost head butted her before realizing it. The next few nights he almost jumped by it. The look on her face was almost as disturbing. It was almost a obsessive and possessive look on the cats face, as if he was either some prized possession or her next meal. He got shivers just thinking of it. Thankfully, Noah usually saved him from whatever it is she was planning to do to him and give him enough time to at least slip out the other side and arise from bed. He still didn't understand why the cat was so focused on him, he expected her to have already claimed the beta and made him her submissive mate. It also didn't help that she had yet to call in the favor he owed her, so he had no choice but to bear through whatever she was doing for now. Or, at the very least, not attack her over it as he would with Kendall.
Today was a bit different though. Today was the day he was to duel the snake after what she had caused that night, proving him right all along of a snakes true nature despite her own protests. Thinking back on the ball, it was a mixed bag. The only good thing that arose from it was seeing maria again and settling his debt with the rabbit while everything else had just been a mess. But, back to the topic at hand...he had specifically made sure to sleep out of the dorm this night. He didn't need the cat hanging over him as she had been doing all other nights. He had found a nice and quiet corner out of the way of most people to sleep that night, not really minding the lack of bed as he was used to sleeping on the ground at this point. Waking up with dawns light, he felt pumped up. He was going to show the snake what it meant to deal with a wolf. He still wasn't sure if she was blind or not, not after what had happened on the prom night. It could all be part of a farce for her to make others drop their guard, not that he would ever do so with her now. He kept his axe in hand as he would head to the battle site, the courtyard, with his vambraces and boots equipped. He would not go easy on this snake in the slightest, nor would he hold back even if she was a teacher. It was not in his nature to do so.
Entering the courtyard, he would find the snake with her cane and another snake on her neck. She had two skull bags to either side of her, what were in them Feralis wasn't sure nor did he particularly care. He was here for one thing alone. 'To beat the hell out of that damn snake.' He thought to himself. He didn't nearly hate the teacher as much as he hated cats, but snakes were a solid second place because you could never trust them. He wasted no time in announcing his presence as he stayed a little distance away from the snake. "Alright i'm here snake. Are you ready for our fight?' He would ask loudly, not caring who else heard or not. He was eager to get things underway with his axe still in hand and ready for battle. For him there was always a thrill to a fight, which given his time in the wild he always fought viciously. It would be a wonder if the snake could adapt to him fast enough in that regard.
Having done her morning run, extra early in that morning, she needed to think. The dance went well and for the most part her team had fun. Sadly their newest member picked a fight with the wrong person. To her it looked badly upon the team, reflected worse upon herself as a leader. Cleaning herself off after the run she went to the courtyard in hopes of breaking Feralis off this path. Getting down there she spotted Feralis and the teacher. "God ******** damn it..." Muttering to herself as she walked over. "Feralis stand down. She will kick your a** so fast." She looked over at the teacher. She looked blind, but Jessica never took things at face value, nothing was ever what it seemed. "Please don’t kill him, he's an idiot and bull headed but I need him." She would hold up a finger to Feralis, to silence the wolf before he could object. "Yes you are, you fought Ivory day one and now your about to fight a teacher." She sighed a little, really hoping he would listen for once. "If this fight does happen, just keep him alive."

Ivory would rub his eyes, he was tired. Maybe having a hammock as a bed was effecting him, or maybe it was the effort of putting everything back to his scent every day was exhausting him. He would go to class, fix his scent, study, and then train, only to come back and have to fix his scent again. This was getting ridiculous. The Mutt needed to go.
Ivory would walk out to the courtyard, a snack in his hand. They had been told that it was going to be a combat class, so Ivory was wearing his combat suit, his clip on tie hanging perfectly. On his right side, his long sword was in it's sheathe. He would see Jessica already standing there, Feralis himself seemed to be challenging a woman in a kimono. Was that the teacher? He had heard that there was a teacher that taught wearing that style of clothing, but he also heard that she was a faunus as well. Her tongue would flick out. Ivory would be taken aback by it. That was creepy.
He would turn to Jessica. "If he wants to fight a teacher, then let him. We might learn something. "
