Shikora Mjoli" Indiana Jones?" asked Shikora, mildly incredulous. " That's what you're going with?" She didn't think there were too many botanical garden mazes in Indiana Jones movies. At least, he didn't have to bust through spiderwebs to just have to go through a maze. Right? She would have taken more time to ponder what had happened in those movies, but the clicking distracted her, easily. Warily, she turned her eyes back in the direction they came from, trying to figure out what was actually back there. All she needed to see was the fact that it had way too many legs. She didn't need to take a closer look beyond her periphery. Just as she thought, the real problem. The giant spiders. Shikora bolted about as well as she could in her black cat outfit, but there were just too many people trying to scramble all to the same location. She felt one of the spider legs brush by her leg, thankfully not catching anything--thank goodness she chose to go with a shorter skirt today. She never thought she'd be thankful for that kind of fashion decision. It was unfortunate that there seemed to be no other way to get away other than through this maze. "Hopefully it's easy," she mumbled. "Lots of kids here." At least, some kids here.

Gweneth Malley (+1 metal stake) Gwen was well away from the webs, with Yvaine's hand clutched in her own, when she heard the yelling from a familiar voice. Without thought, she turned on heels. "I'll be right back." She called to Yvaine. "Stay there!" She prayed her friend wasn't going to get pulled away but she couldn't just leave Isaiah alone to the webs. Even if his over dramatics were just far too much.
Using the stake she had acquired, Gwen began to hack away at the webs that Isaiah had managed to get himself tangled in. "I think you'll survive." She said in comment to the webs getting into his mouth. "I don't think you'll be dying anytime soon. You've survived worse." A little pep talk, perhaps? Whatever it was, Gwen was glad when she finally swiped through the last piece of web.
"Alright, Yvane is right over..." She stopped dead in her tracks when she turned and found a spider, a giant spider, heading towards her. Now, Gwen had never really hated spiders before, but she was damn sure that these spiders were things made of nightmares. The creature seemed interested in something just off to Gwen's side though and it lunged after whatever it prey was. Heaving a sigh Gwen looked back and grabbed hold of Isaiah's wrist.
Again her eyes roved his outfit, or lack thereof. Damn it.
"Come on. Yvaine is waiting for us right over here. We have to keep her safe." She tried to give him a look that said she'd not take any argument in that matter. She doubted she was much successful considering the distraction that Isaiah was.Tatterpizie In case you decide to play catch up!

Pandora Sagan
Chittering and hissing filled the air, along with an odd but almost familiar scent as the spiders appeared finally. Pandora watched calmly as they began going after the event attendees, many of which panicked and bolted, including a glassy-eyed young man that looked as though he might piss himself with just the right push.
One of the spiders shoved at her, knocking her aside in it's haste to go after moving prey. She wasn't afraid, but rather curious - were they truly something to fear? Or were they like her beloved Wasgo, simply misunderstood and needing the right sort to reach out and make appropriate contact?
Another snapped at her, causing a scrape as she put her training to good use and escaped a more severe injury; of course, trying to understand the spiders didn't mean she wouldn't get hurt, nor that she shouldn't allow them to herd her where they wanted...just that she should keep herself open.
Into the maze it was.

Tobias Liebel - STAKE +1 If he were going to be honest with himself, this sudden change in Evan sent alarm bells off in Tobias’s head, but he didn’t have time to figure out what had happened and how to fix it right now. He followed Evan through the web and let out a sigh of relief as the maze came into view. “I think we might be safer in there, Ev. We can regroup and figure out a better game plan…I know that panic isn’t going to get any of these people anywhere and..”
Tobias broke off, letting out a little yelp as his foot caught on something long and hairy, causing him to stumble and nearly fall. It was a massive spider and for a moment, fear washed over him. Over him Tobias. Who never let things scare him. Who laughed at horror movies and played the most frightening games for the hell of it…this kind of fear had only been felt a handful of times, and the last had been when that youma was trying to eat him.
Idly, he glanced around, hoping that the purple clad person was going to swoop out of nowhere and save himself and Evan.
Why hadn’t he worn the scarf? He always wore the scarf…but.
Tonight it was up to him to keep Evan safe, so he would. “Into the maze, Ev. Come on!”

Michiko Wakahisa XMichiko did her best to stay close to Toby she was afraid with all these spiders trying to get to them. Somehow they were making progress through the maze though not as quickly as some members of the group of party goers. If this was all just part of the garden even Michi really hoped all these spiders were fake and there would be some amazing rare plants for them when they got through this. She looked around to make sure Toby was alright as she hurried forward. Michi's breath was huffing when she asked Toby. "Do you think this is real or just a game?" She asked the last hopeful she didn't know what to think if giant spiders were attacking the garden.

Eta the Meow When Eta, Guardian Cat bonded to Eternal Sailor Corvus, had made the suggestion to Felix, sometimes known as Sailor Suttungr, that they attend the event at the "Bootanical Gardens" it was because she had a feeling that they might be needed. It was her greatest hope that the feeling be silly, nagging worry and nothing more. It was not, and she was less than pleased. When the lights went out Eta had hoped that those individuals who were powered might have had a chance to transform to start defending those who weren't as 'blessed' in the supernatural means. The light of her hope was extinguished by the shoving and shrieks. There was no time to act, no time to find a dark corner, only time to keep one's feet beneath them as the bodies all pressed closer towards the door. Felix, bless him, caught her as she started to slide from his shoulder when he was jostled. He was too good, too sweet, to let her fall to the floor and as startled as she was she wouldn't claw him to hold herself in place. Even as they moved through the webs that threatened to catch her and pull her way from him, he was there to carefully pluck her out and protect her. When the spiders came she puffed up. Felix had done enough to protect her. Now? Now it was her turn to start protecting him. Syrie Edited actual post in finally.

Felix Smith Dressed as Thor; has Eta on his Shoulder It wasn't so bad, even when the giant spiders appeared - at least, not for Felix. He didn't mind them too much. Eta, however, did not like them at all. She puffed up and hissed and it was cute and also horrible. So he did his very best to keep her from being touched by any part of the creatures, bringing the Mauvian down from his shoulder into his arms in a cradle carry; as they headed into the maze her claws snagged on one of the metal stakes and suddenly they had a weapon too. Cool! "Well, I guess you're on batting duty, Eta. I'll hold onto you and you can just...poke things away." Or she could just hold onto it...or drop it. Either way, Felix was just a boy with a cat that was running from giant angry spiders in a botanical garden maze. And it just so happened that the cat had a big metal stake. None of this made any sense.

Toby Yates* (Dressed like Elf Kirito) (has +1 Metal Stake) Heading to the maze didn't really seem like the best plan to Toby, but for the life of him, he couldn't think of a better course. Maybe he would have, had there not been a OMG GIANT SPIDER that cropped up practically on top of him as he and Michi rushed off toward the hopefully safe confines of the maze. He kept that spike in his hand, ready to jab it at any of those things that got too close, but, luckily, there were enough targets around that no spiders went for either of the duo. "Fake? God, I hope so," Toby breathed, still hurrying to the maze. "But...th-this is nuts either way! Giant spiders! If it's a game, this is a really mean game!" And if it's not, he thought, then that means GIANT SPIDERS ARE REAL! He might even have found that knowledge really cool, if they weren't right there, apparently desiring to eat people! Or suck out their blood? He couldn't remeber what it was spiders did. Something he didn't want to find out, that's all he was sure of.

Elex Yorke (as undead, +1 Stake Dinner) Elex's clothes just reached the juncture of unsalvageable, and Elex weighed the usefulness of using his hands to brush away the wes, when a grating voice pierced through the crowd. Accompanying it was a boisterous head of fiery hair, a dash too much pomp, and a great propensity to go on at length about nothing. He watched the three from afar, by the sound of his explanations. He knew the names and associated faces. Elex looked on in tepid boredom as he rambled through a few empty greetings while distilling down the chaos of the night into straightforward pranking. Was he so dense?
Elex refused his attempts to help free the pair quite easily. And when the webs finally cleared them as two separate individuals, Elex turned to the unnamed redhead with a cutting tone. "Have we met?" Excessively vague familiarities aside, Elex placed no one that chatty in dear company. Likely he knew of Elex's recent disappearance — and even more recent return.
But Elex found little time to agree with Rowan on introductions — a jerk sent him bodily away from Peter Pan and backward toward the mazes. The chittering caught his attention, and one of the beastly web-spinners scuttled past with sights trained on a screaming girl. Rowan yelled, giving Elex enough time to half-turn, and a flash of jaws greeted him. Elex gasped, stumbled, and a flurry of haired, chitinous legs overtook him. While it lurched into him and broke his grasp on Rowan's hand, he rolled with the impact. Needle teeth struck and scraped the ground ineffectually, though Elex felt a burning flash streak across his shoulder. The spider, sufficiently stunned from its failed bite, retreated from him.
Elex sat up at once with fret in his eyes when he looked to the thin, red line forming on his shoulder. The teeth tore through part of his costume much too easily. Is it going to tear? Frantic eyes lit on the too-warm blood unfurling its moisture into the air. He covered it with his free hand and righted himself before dashing after Rowan.
Trey must've gone far ahead by now, but he chose against losing them both. The redhead be damned; he needed to find the pair, as well as a way out.

Tom and Jason Wolf (dressed up respectively as Sherlock Holmes and Watson respectively.) Tom and Jason tried to hide their smiles as Mahogany got more and more disgusted at his outfit being ruined. They felt a bit sorry for him, but they knew he had to realize that he was asking for trouble wearing something like that at an event like this. After all, even if it had been a relaxed evening with no giant spiders and dark moving shadows, there was still the possibility of food stains. Luckily the both of them managed to grab a couple of metal stakes. They weren't sure why the spiders hadn't noticed them just yet, but they took the opportunity to make their way towards the maze entrance. Standing to the side a bit letting others get through before them, the brothers along with their 'guest were considering their options. "Well depending on what type of maze it is, we might just be able to follow one side to the end." Jason said. Tom nodded but added, "Though if they decided to actually go with one of the harder types of mazes, we may just be going in circles for a bit. For right now let's just follow one side of the maze and then not go down obvious dead ends all right?" Tom asked, looking at Mahogany to see if he agreed with the plan. Quote: Both have grabbed metal stakes! Derrick Keenan (dressed as Rick O'Connell from The Mummy) - metal stake Derrick waited for Gisela to get up to him, though he had been bumped and jostled by the crowd and had to whack a spider upside the head to keep it from biting him, but he waited for her and smiled once she got up to him. "Glad to see you made it. Sorry for getting away from you back there, it's hard to keep with each other in this crowd. Come on, let's go into the maze. I don't know if you do a lot of mazes, but we can either follow a side or just guess randomly. Either way, let's go!" He said, grabbing her hand and tugging on it a bit as he moved forward. He wouldn't force her to move if she didn't like him holding her hand. Sachio Sugiyama (dressed as BotW Link sans pointy ears) - metal stake Sachio was currently battling a giant spider for right now. It had grabbed a hold of his leg with some webbing, and currently he was whacking it over the head over and over again. Though if he was being honest with himself, he knew that even if he was powered up, he knew he still wouldn't be much of a match for these spiders considering the type of magic that he had. Finally, after a few dozen whacks over the head the spider let go and he was finally able to go into the maze, and the thought that ran through his head was Wait, there are no spider enemies in Breath of the Wild are there?

Alphonse Wingates St-Grey - +1 Stepping outside had given his eyes some relative light and he could see the maze before him looming large. But it wasn't the maze, the botanical garden's pride and joy, that would prove to be the problem. There ever cast webs all other the verdant walls and it didn't appear these were solely for decoration. What could be lurking here that could have created the glistening silk? He felt something metal in his had as he backed away from a particularly sticky strand. He might need it later. ✪

Isaiah Zähne as Felicia "Are you kidding? Of course I won't survive!" Isaiah huffed his drunken offense at her even as she cut away at the webs. Now he felt sticky, and not in the way that he wanted. "Nothing's worse!" He scoffed; she wasn't even taking him seriously. How could she not take him seriously? Maybe these were magical webs that ate through one's skin and — he swallowed thickly. Turning head as gracefully as he could, Isaiah vomited drink and little else.
And when he straightened, the world shifted a bit — a lot — and his legs moved because the ground kept shifting under neath him, and then he realized he was running, and then he stopped, and then he tasted more bile in his mouth so he spat —
straight onto a spider —
who recognized him in some way, or saw something it liked (more likely) and sidled toward him, so he prepared to stumble away as best as his inebriated self could, but it lumbered along and bumped his leg and sidled off after toppling him over. Thankfully not into his own vomit.
But the grass tasted awful and getting up was hard because the world kept trying to pick him up off the ground. So he held fast to the grass for a few minutes, scared that if he let go he might simply fly away. "But there's spiders," he mumbled to the grass and to Gwen. "Spiders don't care about rugs. Spiders care about big, juicy cats." And eating them. Or doing other weird illegal things with them that only appeared on snuff films. And that terrified him but he watched them anyway.
Finally he shifted a grass-filled hand to Gwen's leg, then her shin, then climbed his way up her as if she was the sole force capable of standing on the earth. "Okay. Where we going?" He glanced about; no spiders yet.

Mahogany Shapour -- Phantom of the OperaClambering behind the brothers, Mahogany found himself at a bit of a loss. They had both gained the advantage of a weapon, and all Mahogany had to show for his struggles was a ruined costume. He hurried along to keep up with them, forever keeping an eye out for her family. "Yeah," he agreed hastily, nodding for emphasis. "But I mean if you guys don't want to spread the wealth of spikes around," he added, eyeing one of them covetingly, "then you guys are going to have to act as my bodyguards." There was little mirth to his laugh as jealousy began to rise. If they had just helped him out of the webbing, then they all could have spikes. Besides, they were basically a unit. Did they both really need their spikes. Surely one could spare their weapon and rely on the brother. It wasn't like Mahogany had the benefit of a family member to rely on... As the boys before him swung at and took out a spider that lunged at them, Mahogany found himself attacked as well. Gracelessly, he swung his fists at the beast, missing entirely, and spinning himself out. It was by pure luck that he landed bodily on the thing and sent it skittering away. " Bodyguards," he hissed angrily, clambering up with ruined pride and equally ruined expensive linen shirt. Gisela Louise -- Lazy ZombieWhen Derrick slid his hand into hers, Gisela allowed it. She wasn't usually one for physical touch, but this was... a special case. With her nightmares seemingly coming to life all around her, Gisela was glad and indeed hungry for an anchor in reality. She clung to that hand, even as a spider flung itself at her and clung to her ratted cardigan. She yelped pitifully and released Derrick's hand just long enough to shrug it off, leaving the monster struggling in the net of her clothing. She shivered in the night air and grabbed his hand back up before he got away again. "Whatever's in there," she muttered, more than slightly pissed off that she wasn't allowed to stay home and rest and was instead being subjected to this, "it can't be worse than out here, right?" She followed his lead in the maze, staying close enough to him at all possible times.

Jordan Riley (in a simple dress) -- taking a metal stake, +1 ******** this!" Jordan screeched, in the voice of someone who would have much preferred a flamethrower but was making do with what they had. When the spider lunged for them, they ducked and let its' bulk slam into whoever was behind them, scrambling for cover. (This was wearing the bike shorts under their dress had in handy. They didn't mind if the dress got ruined all that much, anyways.) When their legs were under them they were running again into the maze, feet pounding against the ground.
Sunny Dyer (in costume as Princess Zelda) Sunny shrieked. It was more brought on by the number of spiders as opposed to the size of them - she was a Destiny City native, it wasn't like she'd never seen car-sized monsters before, that was around once a month every month - but this many of them, all at once? That was more than a little terrifying, mostly because she was a tall, gangly target.
She froze up, a little, and only someone sprinting in front of her drew the nearest spider's attention away, but - onward into the maze it was.
