Tala felt bad about trying to escape the situation, but he hadn't wanted to make things any worse by trying to continue trying to make her feel better... They would walk around the town for a while, purchasing what they needed before heading towards the tavern... Tala was careful to hold the door for Rosa, ensuring she was inside and following closely before he approached the bar... The keeper watched him with narrowed eyes, then, guessing they wanted a room he pushed across the price list to them... In the meanwhile, a tavern regular had noticed the pair from across the bar, watching them silently as Tala paid for the room before leading the way to the stairs... "A dangerous place to bring a Lady..." he lifted his eyes as Tala made his way past, "Especially with rumours of a darkness heading towards the town...""We're just passing through." Tala growled, not turning to face him fully as he passed by, "Pardon me, but may I see that amulet you're wearing?" he caught Tala's wrist, forcing him to turn back, "It's mine." Tala pulled his arm away, glaring at the guy before motioning for Rosa to follow... "Hmm..." The man narrowed his eyes, but didn't press the conversation further and returned his attention to his drink...

Rosa followed Tala pausing as the man spoke and watched, staying back. When Tala would pull free and motion for her to follow she couldn't help but stare at the man. She bowed her head politely to him, a habit of her royal upbringing, slowly then quickly caught up with Tala and looked ahead at Tala. "That was odd. Why would he want to see your pendant the blue mage gave you?" She asked gently, her hands folded on her lap, habits coming back even though she was not dressed and expected to act like royalty a little bit of habits were coming out.
"Do you think the Demon King's darkness is coming this way? You don't think its following us do you? I don't want others to suffer because of my mistake." She said sounding worried, watching Tala as she pushed some of her hair back that had come loose.

"Probably a trader." Tala growled, having not appreciated the man's intrusion... "Humans seem quite greedy in this world...Buying anything that might be worth their time..."Tala found their allocated room and unlocked the door, pushing it open before holding it so Rosa could enter. It was a quaint room with two beds, a desk and a window, a simple room for the cheap they had paid; "There is no doubt the Demon King is sending out his armies to find us, but I would think after we crossed the boarders he must have lost track of us for a while...so he might just be taking places over for his own gain..." He made his way over to the desk, checking the drawers before sitting down, "If he finds us, it'll be a bonus for him...but if we keep moving, then we can evade him a little longer..."

Rosa entered and would sit on one of the beds, looking to Tala nodding softly. "Do you think.....you could give me lessons on fighting if we were found so I wouldn't be a bother or a hindrance to you if we had to run?" She asked, looking down then back to Tala waiting for his answer. She wasn't sure he'd even accept to teach her but if he did she'd do her best to not anger him but if he didn't she wouldn't push the matter further, not wanting to push him into anything more against his will than she already.
"I'll understand if you say no but I was just curious." she said keeping her eyes on him, her eyes determined but still held the gentle kindness still.

"It would be an advantage..." Tala decided to take a moment to sharpen his daggers, drawing one from its sheath before taking a whetstone from a pouch on his belt... "But I wouldn't know where to start..." He'd learnt all he knew through trial and error in Sune, having had no real teacher to show him... The pair would no doubt lift their heads at the sound of a loud knocking upon the wooden door... Turning, Tala would rise from the seat as the door burst open, weapon in hand and ready to defend himself as several soldiers rushed in... He didn't have the chance to make an attack as the men grabbed him and forced him back against the wall... It was then that the man from the bar would make his entrance, walking boldly up to the male before taking hold of the orb... "I thought I recognised it...Where did you get this, boy? Did you steal it?" he glared with narrowed eyes as Tala tried to free himself from the soldier's grip... "It's mine!" Tala gave a snarl, pulling against the soldiers as the man cut the hide lace and pushed the orb into a pouch on his belt... "I highly doubt that, boy." the man frowned, "That orb belongs to the Queen and has been missing for many years now. You're going to have some explaining to do when we get back to the castle... Take him away."The man would remain in the room as the soldiers dragged Tala into the corridor, then he would turn, almost towering over Rosa as he focussed his attention to her... "From what I have seen, I know for sure you are not in league with this thief." he held out the upturned palm of his hand to her, "No man should turn his back upon a Lady when she is in distress...Are you in good health, Milady? He hasn't hurt you?" The man seemed to recognise her somehow, Jack Marshall was known for traversing the land and seeing many a thing...A weathered Warrior in his prime...

Rosa had turned and gave a small scream jumping, trying to yell at them to leave Tala alone but it didn't come out as she watched them take Tala out. Turning her eyes onto the man she frowned. "No he hasn't harmed me one bit. I want you to release him. He is no thief. He just lost his adopted mother and the only home he ever knew after losing his closes friend." She stated firmly, wondering if he was being polite or if he recognized her as the Princess of the Ice Lands.
"What are you going to do with Tala? You better not harm him. He didn't steal that. The Blue Mage gave it to him and told him to open it when it was right time to and that he should come to this town. The blue mage said he'd meet up with Tala here that he had something to do here and would see him here. Who's the queen anyway here?" She asked her voice had become firm like her mother's and force behind it. She didn't want Tala injured or punished for something he didn't do and was being accused of when there was no facts to back it up or none she could see.

Jack would hold his head as he was hit with a flurry of words and then questions... he listened to what Rosa had said, but then had to pause to formulate an answer for her... "Ahem..." He cleared his throat, "Allow me to beg your pardon, Milady," he bowed his head at the tone of her voice, "With all that has happened as of late, I'm afraid we cannot afford to take any chances."He offered his hand again, "The lad will be taken to a cell to await trial. If what you have said is the truth, then it shouldn't be too long before he is released...but until then, the least I can do is ask that you are provided residence within the Castle..."Jack hoped she would agree to accompany him and finished his sentence with the name of the Queen, "Her Highness is Queen Lyssandra, now if you wouldn't mind...?"

She was cautious, watching him close, looking him over before slowly extending her hand out and took his hand, standing up. "Alright but I want to know he's going to be safe. I don't want him hurt. He's telling the truth. I've been traveling with him for a while now and he wouldn't steal something as I've seen. I also saw the Blue Mage hand him the pendent." She stated firmly, eyes set on his as she stood. "If you find the Blue Mage I know he will vouch for Tala and tell you he gave Tala that pendent."
Rosa stated firmly before she would start to the door. "Queen Lyssandra? I don't think I've heard of her." She said gently, thinking over the name trying to see if she could remember if her mother may have ever mentioned the name before.

"I'm afraid I can't guarantee he won't be hurt... that all depends on whether or not he fights..." Jack dropped his eyes, but gently took her hand and led her to the door, "If you haven't heard of the Queen, then maybe King Trogan?" He was quite surprised that a person of her heritage might not have recognised the Queen of Eskadi, but didn't let it bother him too much... The soldiers marched Tala from the tavern to a waiting wagon, there they would ensure he was chained to the interior wall of the vehicle before accompanying it on food as it was pulled away by two large horses... "Quite a fancy choice of weaponry I might add..." Jack had been careful to recover Tala's dagger before leaving, "Not sure I've seen such a blade before..." He would lead Rosa from the tavern, watching as the wagon disappeared up the road towards the castle...

Rosa watched Jack then stared as she heard the King's name. She had recognized a little of the queen's name after thinking but did recognize the King's name. "I recognize the name King Trogan and after some thought I also remember the name Queen Lyssandra but I can't place a face quite off hand. I can sort of remember something but it's not much." She said softly, sighing walking at his side. "Just please don't harm Tala if it can be avoided, please? He's been so nice to me and so helpful as well. He's kept me safe and so much more. Plus....I feel responsible for him losing his friend and his home with his adopted mother. I feel it's my fault because I could not do what I was required to and so in turn caused him to lose those dear to him but....if I had done as required I would not had met him."
She said softly looking ahead then touched her necklace softly before looking to Jack. "Your face also seems somewhat familiar to me. Have we met before somewhere?" She asked confused looking him over carefully to try and recall why his face was ringing small bells off in her head. "The name Jack reminds me of a man who I had met when out with my parents when I was younger growing up but...what are the odds that you could be that Jack that had told me such fascinating stories to make my parents laugh and shake their heads when their stories and books couldn't hold my attention if he had told me a story."
Rosa gave a soft laugh behind one hand some smiling and sighed not thinking it could be the same guy.

"Well, let's just say I've travelled to many lands and gathered many a fine tale to tell..." Jack wasn't prepared to divulge much in the public eye as he knew if he were to draw attention to the fact that Princess Rosa of the Ice Lands was there in Eskadi, there would be problems... "I wonder if you have heard the tale behind this kingdom...?" He would lead her towards the castle as they talked; forming his words in such a way that any passer by would believe he was merely reciting the legend of Eskadi and leave them to continue without altercation... "Her highness had barely given the babe his name before the witch stole him away; the entire King's guard was assembled to find her, but after setting light to the portcullis, she seemed to disappear into thin air..."He could continue on, explaining in his own words how he had led a team to search far and wide, even daring to intrude into the boarders of Sune, but to return empty handed... He'd travelled after that, saddened at his inability to protect the heir to the kingdom he'd set out upon adventures, partially to clear his head, but in truth to find any information he could about the witch in the hopes he could in turn locate the child... "I don't do that much nowadays... I stay here, protect the King and Queen, whilst telling my old war stories to those who would listen..." he breathed a sigh, waving off the guards as they advanced before leading Rosa right up to the door of the great hall... "Their Highnesses are currently not around, but I wouldn't mind giving you the tour until they return?"

Rosa listened walking at his side nodding, watching him. When done she nodded. "That sounds good and I had not heard much just little things here and there from the blue mage we ran into when we were staying in his home that we thought was abandoned but it was not." She said softly sighing.
She knew Tala was that child but didn't know if they would believe her if she did say something of what the tree showed her and what the mage had told her. Watching Jack she sighed. "To be honest...Jack....the blue mage and the elder tree in Sune had told me and showed me memories of the child you're looking for but I'm not sure you'd believe me if I told you without proof." She said gently when they were alone at the castle.

"You've been to the Elder Tree of Sune?" Jack stopped suddenly, "No man has entered that hellhole and returned sane, if at all!" he was stunned and turned to face Rosa, "Milady, to have spoken to such an entity is a feat beyond even my own contemplations, are you sure it was Sune you entered?" He scratched his head, trying to think of how she could have pulled off such a task, "We've lost many fine soldiers to that place of death...surely you are mistaken..."

Rosa stared and could understand his feelings right now before nodding. "I entered with Meta, our Horzun a cat woman gave us earlier in our travel. Tala had went in first, Sune is where he grew up before meeting Caran the Red Mage. We got there and he ran inside and Meta and I followed. He took us to the center to the Elder Tree. She spoke to me, I felt her vines touch me and I seen her spirit and heard her, she told me of a witch placing Tala in her to send him to her, gifting her with the boy. She raised him as if he were her own but knew he would have to come to his real parents.
"Sune was taken over by darkness, the forest is now just stone with corpses laying about now. She gave all she had to keep he and I safe so we might escape alive. She sacrificed herself to keep us safe as the rest of the forest died then she did as well. The blue mage looked into Tala's mind. If the blue mage is here then perhaps he could vouch and prove that Tala is innocent and is the boy you looked for." Rosa said, not sure he thought she was speaking with sanity or not.
She just wanted Tala happy and to know his birth parents but didn't know if that would work or not right now.

"That's a lot to take in, Milady," Jack seemed to be struggling with her tale, he wanted to believe, but it all seemed too much of a coincidence... He turned at the sound of footsteps and watched as a scout rushed up towards him from the opposing corridor... "What's gotten you so flustered?" He watched as the man ground to a halt, bowing his head as he tried to catch his breath before standing up straight and saluting, "Jack, Sir," the man drew a deep breath as though ready to explain a whole scroll of information... "Is it possible to gain an audience with their Highnesses? I've just heard reports of something remarkable...yet extremely unnerving...""The Royals are out hunting," Jack frowned, "What is this news?" He turned to Rosa to beg her pardon for the intrusion before returning his attention to the scout... "Sir," the man paused for a moment, "Sune has been turned to stone!" he waited for Jack's reaction, but was surprised he didn't share the same astonishment... "We can't be sure if it's because of the approaching darkness, but men had been up to its very walls and its as though the entire forest has been sealed off...!""Remarkable." Jack nodded, "I shall inform the King as soon as he returns," he allowed the scout to leave, then turned to Rosa... "I shall show you to our guest quarters for now, Milady... I must leave for a while, but shall return once the Royals have returned..."He led her to a room fit for any visiting royals, explaining that there were maids to wait on her hand and foot whilst she waited and that unfortunately visiting of prisoners wasn't to be allowed until the Royals had returned...then he left, riding out to meet the King and Queen on their return journey...
