Listening to the boy speak, Jishaku pondered to himself the validity of what the boy said. This was a world of shinobi after all, a breed of men who in the beginning and to this day were bred to lie and cheat for the sole goal of killing their mark. Just as Jishaku didn't expect anyone to truly take his word for what it was, he was incapable of doing the same. To him, this particular predicament was an important one to figure out for his plans. Knowing the face of Suna was key and vital indeed, and if he could not clearly recognize it, he would have an obstacle in his way. What made him even more uneasy about it, was the fact that the boy didn't even bother to introduce himself. He kept his identity hidden at least for the moment, and most any kage hid behind their title in an attempt to veil who they really were.

When David finished speaking, he shook his head quickly and raised his hands in protest. "Oh, no problem at all! To be fair though, if you are behind the desk and Lady Kazekage left you in charge, you are indeed technically the acting Kazekage until she returns." Sitting at last, Jishaku took note of the gesture for himl to be seated. It was of course so little to go on, however substitute kage's very rarely made the office of the acting head of office their own. That is to say, Jishaku noticed the ease and familiarity the boy had in such a simple request. He wasn't quite at home in the office, but it was as if he'd spent more than a little time behind the desk of late rather than on the other side. His eyes wandered behind the man as he looked towards the outskirts of the village. To be honest, he couldn't see much out there considering the sand storm that seemed to be ravaging the area, but the village seemed for the most part unaffected by such natural phenomena. It was clear to him that this village had dealt with such conditions for quite a long time, and the conditions only bred their shinobi to be quite brutal killers.

In all of Jishaku's time learning of the other villages as a child, no village fascinated him more than Sunagakure. The fascination of course grew over time until he came to the village for the first time and stole what was now an integral part of his fighting style. Sunagakure shinobi above all else believed the mission's completion was more important than the shinobi who had to perform the mission. As long as it was a success, it did not matter if even the whole squadron was killed in the process. It was a drive not seen since the days long gone of the Bloody Mist. It was recounted that some Suna shinobi refused to return to the village after a mission's failure for the sole fact that in a mission's failure the punishment was more likely than not death. It was a value Jishaku still held in his own way, that any mission must be performed to the fullest. If the mission was a failure and you survived, clearly you didn't try hard enough to complete it. Whether he died in this mission he took upon himself was unimportant. What was, was proving himself against Shukaku wherever he resided. Besting this demon was his mission, and he'd die attempting to complete it.

David's smirk returned momentarily at Jin's words. It was correct of course, but he paused for a second. Did he want to claim to be a temporary kage, thus giving the impression that the real kage was indisposed or out of town, or dismiss the idea, claiming to be merely a representative? The latter would be better for dealing with foreigners, but for someone who would be in town for a good while, if not permanently, it could be a bit trickier... They would eventually notice the kage wasn't around. But then, by the time the man could piece that puzzle together he'd probably have been accepted into the village fully, so it didn't matter. He would use the second lie.

Turning to look at Jin again, David's face betrayed none of his thoughts as he shook his head, smiling ruefully. "I'm afraid not. She's just too busy to deal with immigrants. The only reason I get this office is because I don't have my own, and this one is mostly unused anyways." the thought of his own office actually gave David pause for a moment, his eyes fading as if he was looking right through Jin. It would be nice to make an office in his hole... Maybe he'd do that later. It would be a far greater place of power than being so high above the desert where he could barely feel the sands below. Even a kage wouldn't dare cross him if he held the meeting below the sands.

Refocusing, David looked at Jin again. "I am David Greyson. Currently head diplomat for Sunagakure." he said with a very slight bow of his head, before once more turning away and fishing through the papers on his desk. After a moment, he found what he was looking for, the blank profile he had set aside earlier. Pulling it out, he looked to Jin once more. "I believe you told the guards you wished to teach?" he looked inquisitively at the man for a moment, before spinning the paper on his desk around and sliding it across to him. "The form you filled out when you entered the village... If you did fill it out. I hear Etsushi rushed you away fairly quickly. That allows you access to the civilian sectors of the village, but does not allow you access to the ninja areas nor practices. If however, you fill out a basic shinobi profile, we can test your abilities and begin applying you to ninja uses, such as, as you desired, training." David finished speaking, sliding a pen across the desk to join the paper, signifying that he expected the man to fill out the profile then and there. Leaning back in his chair, David gave off the appearance that he had relaxed himself completely to wait, though his eyes were still fixed on the man. He was a rather odd puzzle, and David wanted to figure it out.

Jin's attention rocketed back to the Kid as he began to speak once more, his eyes slowly returning to give him the full attention he at the present moment deserved. When he explained the situation, there was not much else he wanted to or did say other than, "I see. Very well then David, it's a pleasure nonetheless." He grew more and more curious of the situation that was being presented to him, and still there was simply not enough evidence for him to completely confide in his gut feeling. However, he found it odd that this boy despite his supposed station was dealing with him instead of the Kazekage if this were actually the case. He was an immigrant by their standards which was true, however above that he was a shinobi that was an immigrant. To task a diplomat with dealing with a foreign shinobi was either as he thought odd, or highly necessary at the current time. This made him wonder if what was being said was true, what the Kazekage was truly busy with.

Being presented with papers, it seemed he was being asked to fill out a basic profile for the village. "Not a problem," he said as he picked up the pen and pulled the paper closer to fill it out. He filled it out as he had filled out the little info he gave at the gate. This form seemed to be more in depth however, as Jin of course expected. There was no village that would allow a shinobi to register under their forces without first attempting to attain a record of all of his abilities. Luckily for Jishaku, he was well versed in raiton as most cloud shinobi were. The man hadn't lied when he wrote down that he was a fromer ANBU member, that much was true. What was false about it of course was the village his service took place in. The man had taken great care to create the name of a group that would explain why no one knew him and his absence from Iwa. Placing the pen on top of the paper and turning it around to pass to David after he signed it, he leaned back into the chair and twiddled his thumbs, waiting for questions on anything he may have written

Taking the form as it was returned to him, David leaned back in his chair and began to read it, mainly just skimming it, but picking out the more important bits of information, such as rank and elements. He found it odd that the man only had one element according to this, but it wasn't entirely unheard of. Perhaps the sacrifice came with more control over that one element. The total lack of specializations was also strange, considering everyone he had ever met had at least two, and some had more. But, he just added both to the list of oddities and looked instead at the one thing he couldn't even begin to explain for himself.

"What exactly, is Orion?" the young kage spoke, looking up at Jin again. The provided breakdown of the acronym didn't help much, as all it implied to him was that it was a spy organization. Something that certainly didn't set well with him.

Sitting in silence as the boy read the info sheet, Jishaku waited for the question he knew was sure to come. It was after-all the only reason he put it there. Taking a deep breath, Jin smiled as if he wore a bit embarrassed. "I was afraid you would ask about that, however given the circumstances of my records I had no choice but to relinquish that bit of information. ORION was not what I can see you think it was. We were not spies for the Niidaime per-say. We were outsourced ANBU forces of Iwagakure. The ANBU alone as you know keeps all of their shinobi records classified. However, records for shinobi involved in ORION were completely destroyed the moment we received our first mission. The Niidaime Tsuchigake came into her term with quite a lot of debt on her hands, owed to allied villages and provinces who bailed us out of a deficit before even I myself was born. To supplement that debt, ORION was created so that any mission of A-rank or above that was presumed too risky for one's own shinobi from the villages we were indebted to, were tasked with us to complete. We were given a contract to be stationed in a village or province under their shinobi forces as another faceless ANBU member, however when a mission's success or validity was too risky for a leader to risk his own men taking it, the ORION operatives within the ANBU force were given the mission and told to execute it in secret. If it succeeded the village's ANBU as a whole received praise for the mission, and if it failed then it didn't matter since failure meant we were killed. And since we never existed within the shinobi system, it's like it never happened."

Taking a moment to breathe, Jin stared David in the eyes for a moment to let the information sink in before continuing. "My contract where I was stationed was a seven year contract. When I returned to Iwa to receive the next contract in secret, I came back to nothing. So you see, apart from documents long since destroyed the moment I took this contract, there is no physical proof that I am from Iwa. I have no family members left, no recollection of any of the Iwa shinobi I came across, nothing. I am a refugee in every sense of the word." At this point, Jin had grown quite sullen, the reality of his situation seeming to have just dawned on him. It was silent for quite a while until Jin looked up, speaking in a voice that seemed to be an attempt to keep his composure. "As I'm sure you noticed, there is information missing from that profile. Just as I'm sure you are not quick to trust me, I cannot be so quick to trust you. My instincts as a shinobi are simply set that way, I apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully in time when we can learn to trust each other, I can return to fully complete the form. Until then, I'm afraid what is there is all that I am willing to permit you to know."

Looking up at David, the man waited for a response to what was said.

David watched Jin with rising disbelief as he spoke of Orion. The very idea was ludicrous. A ninja organization under the command of Iwagakure, operating with no record of their existence, yet still trusted not only by Iwa, but all the other villages as well? If there was anything the boy had learned since being given his new post, it was that nothing went completely unrecorded. And you certainly didn't trust a complete unknown. That left three options. One, Jin was lying through his teeth. Two, the Nidaime Tsuchikage was a fool. Or three, the organization was as he first suspected, and their goal was, as implied by the name, reconnaissance. Assuming the kages they approached were foolish enough to believe the story, or perhaps the one explaining it was simply more convincing than Jin, they would have a ninja within the enemy forces to gather information.

If the last were true, there would still be record of the group's existence. Iwa would keep track of it's men, even if it claimed not to. The destruction of records could be a complete lie on Jin's part, or he might even believe it himself. And even if Iwa was foolish enough, in the case of option two, to destroy their records completely, the other villages would have kept track of these "Orion Operatives". He would have to check into Suna's records on the matter. Or rather, have someone else check for him. Assuming Koizumi was intelligent enough to put pen to paper, there should be something on it. But then, even if the Tsuchikage hadn't been a fool, Koizumi certainly had been.

Looking back up at Jin as his ponderings came to an end, the boy gave a skeptical nod. "Very well." He paused, rather unsure where to go from here. He had no other questions on the profile, and assuming the man was telling the truth, he wouldn't know anything about the destruction of Iwa. Therefore, the rest of this interview seemed rather pointless. Standing up, he decided to follow that thread, and end the annoyances for the day. Surely he had better things to do than play diplomat. "I assume that you know nothing of the events leading to Iwagakure's unfortunate demise then. So, unless you have something further to add, I believe we can call this interview complete."

"Someone will be contacting you shortly to begin your testing, but for now, feel free to rest. Explore the village, get an apartment if you'd like. If you have the money, you can buy a house. Whatever you end up doing, I suggest you relax, because the testing will not be easy."
Having said his last, David waved towards the door, signifying that unless the man did in fact have something more to say, he should leave now.

Staring at David intently, Jishaku felt he could almost see the gears turning in the boy's head. Running through scenarios for an explanation he assumed the boy thought to be full of holes. He didn't bother do so anything about it however, deciding he only needed to add one thing to the story. Either way, David would be spending a good amount of time looking into ORION, something Jishaku wanted. If the boy was of no concern to him and his job really was just that of a diplomat, he didn't have time to waist answering his questions and being interviewed. It gave the kid busy-work while Jishaku did a little searching around the city. He had been here and managed to go unseen before the last chuunin exam, however as villages grow things change. Just as well, he had hoped the villages kage had changed as well. The last one was scatterbrained as he saw it, especially since he was able to stay in the village for so long in order to steal the last of the higher level Sunaton he wanted. Not only did he have time to get that done, but he had time to spy on her quite frequently. To put it bluntly, Jishaku thought she was pretty dumb, and even wondered what sway she had with the Suna council to become the Kazekage. Still, he wanted to make sure the village layout was exactly the same as it had been when he last visited. Just as well, he wanted to get back on track with his work.

Shaking his head solemnly at the mention of him knowing nothing of Iwa's destruction, Jin made the effort to mention the one thing he left out. "I can already tell you are a bit suspicious. You can check your resources if you'd like, however I sincerely doubt the search I only assume you will inevitably conduct will turn much of anything up. I'm more than willing to cooperate with you so I'll tell you this: The last mission ORION received in Sunagakure was accepted under Lady Kazekage Koizumi Natsumi. From what I know of the contract, Koizumi accepted ORION's help under strict conditions. Given the severity of the situation, our debt to Suna was wiped clean by sixty percent. If I can remember correctly, we were able to negotiate the contract under our terms, what they were however I cannot for the life of me tell you because I myself do not know."

Standing up, Jin nodded his head towards David. "I hope that points you in the right direction, but I don't doubt that the senior members of ORION made sure those files were gone by now. Anyway, I suppose I should obtain a place to stay temporarily. As far as the test goes, I'm sure I'll be able to handle myself well." Turning to take his leave, he grinned as he began to open the door facing away from David. He knew the records didn't exist and was sure David would dig until he could do so no more. Having spent time spying on Koizumi, Jishaku could only gather that she was incapable of doing anything without assistance. What it told Jishaku is that she was just plain un-responsible. What he guessed is she wasn't often left alone to make a decision, but rather counseled with others to see what to do. He doubted she was any good at record keeping, and doubted even more so that if she indeed had made such a contract with ORION, she'd be smart enough to get anything in writing. He implied of course that Iwa's men drafted a contract to their liking, which most likely meant that based on what he said about the organization, the contract only existed in an exchange of words. It didn't matter to him which route David took however, it bought him time.

By this time he had opened the door and began to walk out, headed towards the shinobi apartment complex downtown. He wondered who else lived there...

EXIT TO SUNA APARTMENTS.

As the man left, David leaned back in his chair, considering all that had happened in that interview. The man was strange, and he was quite certain now that he didn't trust him. A man who supposedly didn't exist, wiped from the records of his own village and knowingly planted in others as an agent of some kind, and that was only what he had been told. There were holes in the story, and holes usually led somewhere. If Jin hadn't been in contact with this group in seven years, how did he know they hadn't sent another agent to Suna? Furthermore, the man implied that this Orion group could access the village's records and remove evidence of their presence?

No, he didn't trust that man a bit. He wouldn't let him know that though. He'd get the same testing that was planned for Shinji, and simply be observed as was already planned. Eventually, if the boy's suspicions were correct, the man would make a move, a mistake, and he would be taken down in minutes. But in the meantime, he would start the background investigations. Holding one hand in the air, David lazily made a signal, calling his ANBU out of the shadows. Within moments there was a masked man standing before his desk.

"I want any records relating to Iwagakure or "Orion" found and searched. If you find anything relevant, I want it on my desk before the end of the week. Question any senior or retired ANBU active from the Nidaime Tsuchikage's reign beginning, to the death of Koizumi. If this organization has ever been in our walls, I want to know. And send me Etsushi." With his orders given, David waved his hand, and the ANBU vanished, headed for ANBU HQ to begin the search. He would alert Etsushi to David's call on the way.

Just as David was about to relax a bit and get started on his own records of the interview, the door opened once more, admitting... Himself. The young kage raised an eyebrow at this oddity, rather confused at who would try using a henge of himself to invade his office, before recalling the clone he had left with Akura and relaxing once more. Setting down the pen he had grabbed seconds earlier, he leaned back in his chair to give the clone his full attention.

"How did it go?" The clone's rather disappointed sigh did not bode well... "Akura is on his way to the hospital. After you left, an archer joined the fight, and managed to get him in the arm pretty badly. If I had not intervened, I suspect they would have killed him as he passed out only a minute later from the pain and blood loss." David repeated the clone's sigh, massaging his temples as well. He had been hoping Akura would pass the test and relieve him of some of the work he'd be forced to take on now. Oh, and strengthen the village with another field chuunin. There was that too. As it was, Etsushi was the only capable field agent he had left over the rank of genin, and she was almost entirely unreliable due to her spurts of blood lust. Nothing ruined a simple escort mission like the jounin in charge getting pissed off and killing the client. And he'd spotted at least three counts of that on her mission record.

Sighing again, David nodded. Regardless of Akura's failure, the clone had done it's job. "Alright. Go ahead and dispel yourself. Too much has happened on this end for you to be useful with your memory." With that, David turned back to his paperwork as the clone dispelled in a small burst of sand.

Her arrival to the tower had been quick and prompt. There was no sense in lollygagging and wasting her time. She began her ascend on the stairs, dreading the long climb up. By the time she had spent climbing the stairs had taken several minutes, she was cursing the designer of the tower in her head and imagining scenarios the promised death.

Vaguely she wondered what would happen if somebody was pushed down the steps from the very top and what he would look like when he came to a rest on the ground floor. Her eyes found themselves looking down the stairs at the floor far below her, before glancing upwards at the floors above. It was a spiral stair case, so it was possible. And she had seen some of the heels the women were wearing...

Maybe she should push the the architect of the building down the steps. Feeling slightly better at that thought, she continued her climb until she reached the top. She knocked once before entering. A quick glance around the room showed that they were alone, though she did spot the ANBU hiding in the shadows.

"Kazekage," She said, turning to face the miniature Kage.

David looked up as Etsushi stepped in. Luckily, this time he had just completed his paperwork, making this, hopefully, his last meeting of the day. Shoving the papers aside, he fixed his attention on the woman, giving her a short nod in greeting. "You get your wish Etsushi." he started, grabbing a small slip of paper he had just finished writing and holding it out to her. It was a mission slip detailing, well, what he was about to tell her anyways. "I need you to go to Iwagakure and find any records you can. Particularly on Jin, and a group called "Orion".

"I also want any information you can gather about the current state of the village. Eyewitness accounts in this case are subject to inaccuracy from shock. You are free to form a team with anyone you want from the village, excluding the Iwa nin, but, I want them back alive. Lastly, this counts as a B rank mission for all involved. Any questions?"
he finished, watching Etsushi. He rather expected she'd enjoy this mission actually. There may not be any fighting, except perhaps if they ran into looters in the village, but the sheer destruction and death might suit her.

Coming before the Kazekage's administration before gaining access to actually see the Kazekage, Zeero decided to ask first if the man in charge was busy. He sort of wished he'd get a nice mission with a good payout or better yet, one that required an assassination. Even if it was simple. Zeero came before the admission desk and spoke to the person attending it, "Is the Kazekage in and if he is, is he busy? I would like to request a mission from him." The youth inquired as he waited for a response.

Kensei stood outside the office and looked amazed. "Its so round." He said to himself as he continued to walk towards the building. He studied it for a bit noticing that it was made of a clay like substance. "Please don't let it be cold inside." Kensei pushed the door open and was hit byy a cool breeze which made him run inside. Sure he looked strange to the locals, but he just got out of a desert. Kensei waved his shirt to let the cool air get inside his clothes. "Oh man that feels good." He walked to the receptionist desk and looked at the person for a bit. This was odd for him because he usually walks to the Raikages office without permission. "Uh yeah....I'm here to see the....uh Kazekage...I mean that must be obvious since I'm here."

" I can understand why you can't get my name right now Guy. " Laxus said snickering as he walked in to hear Kensei stumble across his words. " We're here on official business from the Raikage. We'd like to request an audience with the Kazekage. " He said as he approached the receptionist's desk. " See Guy, I'm not that bad of a person, is Laxus such a hard name? " He said smiling and shrugging to himself. He was here to give support, so if that ended up merely being him talking for the group for short periods of time, then he'd be fine with that.
