Hmm, this seems like an interesting place to say my idea. How do you choose who you do your interviews of anyways?

Find someone within the cult that seems somewhat interesting based upon their posts and question them about their favorite video game/character or whatever.

Well when someone makes a statement like "oh I love Mario" you can ask them if they will do a interview with you, but me, T, and D do a lot of stuff like that so look at how we do it if you want to try.

Looks like this topic may die, and I can't allow that. So I'm back with another edition of Mephisto's Music Mania!

This time we feature Hawkeye Hatfield's theme from Sunset Riders. He's the second boss in the game, and his theme is very good. It's a dramatic western feel. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Sunset Riders has an awesome soundtrack.

Alright, I'm going to be doing another review, this time on Final Fight for the arcade.

Final fight is a side scrolling beat 'em up game made by Capcom and released in 1989 (Japan) and 1990 (North America). The game takes place in the Street Fighter time line after the first Street fighter game. You play as 3 characters, Cody (Brawler/Average), Guy (Martial Artist/Speed), and Haggar (Wrestler/Strength). Each have their own strengths and weaknesses. A lot of the characters in the Final Fight game make the cut to appear in future Street Fighter installments (Guy, Cody, Rolento, Sodom who was referred to as Katana in the SNES versions of the games he's appeared in due to having a name closely related to sodomy, Poison, and Andore who was known as Hugo in Street Fighter 3.) Mike Haggar was also featured in the Capcom wrestlng game Saturday Night Slam Masters.

Plot:
The new mayor of Metro City, Mike Haggar has been informed by the Mad Gear Gang that they have kidnapped his daughter Jessica, and they will not let her go until he meets their demands. Mike Haggar being the manly badass that he is, decides to go out and put this gang in their place by personally beating the holy hell out of every last member and rescuing his daughter himself. Well, he decides not to go alone, Cody, Jessica's boyfriend and Guy, a family friend, decide to accompany Haggar to walk through Metro City and just demolish this gang.

The controls are basic, but perfect for this kind of game. You use the joystick, and you have 2 buttons, 1 to jump and 1 to attack. Pressing the 2 buttons together will have your character do a special attack, it's very useful for getting out of tight situations where you are surrounded, however, it does take away a small bit of your health, so use it wisely. Final Fight also allows you to pick up weapons and items by pressing the attack button over an item. This can be a little annoying if you prefer to fight with regular combo attacks, but if you're in it just to win it, then it's not too much of a bother. You get a choice of a few weapons, a knife, a pipe, and a katana, the knife you can actually throw, and the pipe and katana are good blunt weapons.

There are 6 stages in the game, and all of them get exponentially longer than the last (meaning they get longer and longer and longer with each passing level.) 6 stages may not seem like a lot, but by the final stage, you're just wanting to reach the boss and end him already. The game can get very repetitive at times especially in the later levels, but it's still a pretty fun and enjoyable experience.

The music was kind of a let down. Capcom usually makes great soundtracks for their games, but this was nothing special, actually some of the songs are kind of annoying, but there are a few tracks that are decent.

Final Fight was ported to the SNES also. It's an okay game, but an abomination when compared to the arcade version. The graphics were slightly worse (not that graphics meant a lot, but the detail just wasn't there), the music was worse, Guy was missing, Poison was changed into some skinny mohawk guy who looks very lame and the entire Rolento level was missing. Play it if you want to experiment, but I'd stick with the arcade version.

Overall, I'd give the arcade version of the game an 8/10 while the SNES version gets a 6 out of 10.

Here is a video fo me playing through the first two levels of the arcade version, I added my own music, just like on the Kirby trilogy, and expect more Final Fight vids to be uploaded soon.

A AWESOME arcade game!

Indeed it was, and it was the first out of many of Capcom's side scrolling beat 'em ups. Those were very popular in the 90s after the rise in Double Dragon, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Final Fight.

If I remember... Cody returned in one of the SF Alpha games, and Haggar is playable in... an SNK vs Capcom game, right?

Yes and no, I somewhat cover this in the review:

First guy to be in a Street Fighter game was Guy who appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 1, next was Rolento and Sodom who appear in Street Fighter Alpha 2, Cody appears in Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Hugo (Andore in Final Fight) with Poison as his manager appear in Street Fighter 3.

Haggar never appeared in any of the Street Fighter nor Capcom crossover games, he was however in Saturday Night Slam Masters, which was also on the Arcade and SNES. It's a shame too that the only Final Fight person to ever make it to any of the crossovers was Maki who appeared in Final Fight 2, and Guy eventually on Capcom Fighting Allstars, but Guy, Cody, and Haggar all should have made the cut for the Capcom vs. Marvel/SNK games.

Do you mean Poison? She isn't a cross-dresser.
