You're dressed like the man. In the eyes of most Gaians, we are the man. It's like... Random guy: Yeah, well, I heard this thing *notices GIB agent wandering by*... Nevermind...

eh, it's really not that big a deal. You can't spend the cash in the marketplace, so you are basically limited to purchasing stuff from the shop or buying Donation Items. There will probably be an initial market freak out, but it will settle out fairly soon I imagine.
Besides, Veg's points are all valid. I see no reason to expand upon them.

I don't like it, especially how they say in the announcement that there will be cash-only items in the future. They want the money. I don't like it, I see this happening: people get Gaia cash, buy items from the store and sell them in the MP and get gold. Making it more easier to get gold than before. It used to be so hard to get gold in the past; now you can get it so easily.
Gaia Cash/Gift Credits is just a gimmick IMO

Umm... hello, gift credits, anyone? Gaia Cash isn't new in any way, they just renamed it, changed its value and gave it a spot next to your gold count. If Gaia's "gone commercial", then it was years ago, not now.

It doesn't sound too bad. I'll chuck a few dollars in there around the middle of next month and see whether I like it or not.
The main reason I was worried when I first heard about Gaia Cash was 'cause Neopets came out with Neocash not very long ago, and for a brief, horrible moment I though it was going to be something based along the same lines. Thankfully it's not xD

Eh, I don't really care either way. I didn't buy Gift Credits when they came out and I'm not planning on buying Gaia Cash, either.
Though with the 25 Gaia Cash they gave us, I was able to buy something. XD

Well, I was going to make a big long speech about how it's no different from the gift credits that have been around for quite some time now, only they updated them to better match the current aproximate value of gold and made them more visible to the populace, but it was already mentioned... ninja That was a long sentence...
Anyway, yeah. One good thing that may come of it is people might be less inclined to buy botted gold off of ebay or whatever. At least the money from Gaia Cash is going to the site where it can be used to pay more staff, buy more servers, improve and create features and various other nice things. So stop being so cynical. rolleyes

And just think: If Gaia is going commercial, that either means they really need the money, or that other Co.s are noticing them and want in on the action. wink Let's hope so. heart Maybe our prescious Gaia is getting some respect in da hood... Or something.

Or something. Heh. It just drives me nuts how everyone seems to be so horribly against money. It's like they think people should never try to make money and that everyone should be broke and give everything away out of the goodness of their hearts. The world doesn't work like that, people! So far, the people that have tried to live like that in some manner (aka communists) have failed miserably.

I feel the same way. I dont think the admins just go "LOL WUTZ DIS BUTTOM DO?" Then BAM! Gaia Cash. They probably predict everything that happens. I mean they got a big website to run, no room for jerking around. sweatdrop I mean guys, even if the Market does go down in flames... life goes on eh?

I dunno, guys. Aside from it being like gift credits, as was already mentioned, it's also just kinda like an extension the monthly collectibles. Only now, it's like you can "donate" for shop items, too.
Before, you could have just donated for MCs, and sold them and gotten shop items. What's wrong with removing the middle man?
We still can't buy gold directly, so I don't see what the big deal is.
The future features that may require monies is SOMEWHAT worriesome...
After all, we already have MCs, and that's not bad, right?
But then I had a flashback to the time I made an account on Habbo Hotel, and played it for maybe ten minutes before figuring out that you needed real world money for doing everything from buying furniture to playing a minigame to jumping off a diving board. >.<
That is a future I do not look forwards to...

I agree. Gaia is getting addicted to something called money. Soon, we won't be able to have anything cool without actual money. I don't like it.

That is a future I do not look forwards to... Says the Robo-Shark... XD But I agree... It could get bad, definitely. But I've decided I'm not gonna worry about it. The plot is on my mind too much.
