It began with a basket. No note. Just a basket, a blanket, and a baby. But no note. Deet had found it when he closed shop that night. All he knew about the baby was that it was scaley and could sleep through any thing. Elevators, complaining dogs, curious Jivvins, any thing. The large cat man with the silly name of Deet stood in the living room, holding the infant with the basket by his feet. The infant was wrapped up in the ugly gray blanket he came in. It was curious, too, as it had a black snake embroidered in it.
"You can't keep it. Its not normal. Plus, babies smell. And poop. And I don't like either of those things." Tishrei said coldly, staring up at the yellow-and-black scaley...thing that appeared to be a baby. Not a normal baby certainty, but Tishrei was a talking dog from outer-space. On paper he shouldn't be allowed to say what was normal.
"I'unno...I kind of like it. The house is too quiet when Mocha isn't around." Har'e said with a shrug, the purple-and-brown Jivvin sitting on top of the couch, his tail swishing back and forth as he watched the infant in his large owner's arms.
"Well, yeah, but...Its not like I can just put him back out on the streets." The pudgy cat man said, holding the sleeping snake boy. He was odd, yes, but Deet knew how it was like growing up with out parents. It use to just be him and his sister...It wasn't easy.
"...We have a spare bed-room. He needs a family. And Tishrei, once you pay the bills, you're allowed to decide who gets to live here." Deet said happily, the small snake baby waking up. He didn't cry at the unfamiliar scene, but simply smiled. Deet pratically melted
"Lets call you...Um, Tishrei, whats a good name for a baby?"
"...Nihilo." grumbled Tishrei, turning tale to go mope in the corner.
"Hm...I like it! Nihilo it is!"

Nihilo sighed. Here he was, a young infant. Cheeks pinchable, body huggable, and decidedly adorable despite the forked tongue and the scales. Now, however, he was boredly crawling around his now baby-proofed house while his lump of a father was napping away, completely ignoring him! Oh, sure, Deet had done nothing that night but stay up trying to keep the crying to a minimum, and sure, he gave him a bottle, and okay, yeah, he was only going to nap for thirty minutes, but...This was just horrid!
"Bah bah bah bah...BAH BAH BAH BAH!" screamed Nihilo, who was completely tuned out at Deet slumbered away. Okay, so he wasn't going to get attention from his dad...But they did have a dog and a Jivvin. They'd surely give him the attention he so desperately deserved!
Har'e lied on his back, enjoying the warmth his belly felt from the sun-beam. Ah, now this was nice. So relaxing, so...ERG! Hare jumped to his feet, but couldn't! He was trapped on his back! Some thing was keeping him down! It was horrible! Terrible! It was...The baby?! Yes, the infant had a death-grip on the tail, laughing hysterically at the poor, stuck Jivvin.
"L-Leggo of me!" Hare shouted, nipping at the baby, who bapped him on the head in return. This continued for a while, with Har'e screaming and Nihilo smacking him back.
"Whats going on in there?!" Deet asked as he stomped into the room, finally awoken from his slumber. He picked up Hare by the scruff of his neck and Nihilo in his free arm. Nihilo screamed and protested, but there was no escaping it: He was forced into...The Play Pen! Har'e suffered a similar fate: Doomed to the unused room in the back. How depressing.
"...This is so unfair!"

Toddler Quest!Quote: Hey, the little snake boy is ready to grow, ins't he? Yep, he is! So, we'll need to get him a few different items: A block set, two shirts, a stuffed snake toy, two figurines, and some hair gel. Just try not to let him use the hair gel on other people! Deet sighed, wandering the aisles of Big Box Mart. He hated it, since it was such a loud, crazy, crowded store with no room to breathe. However, he discovered that coming in earlier in the morning meant he could buy what he needed with out feeling like he was going to freak out. Thus, he was here early with his infant son, looking at hair-care products. But first, he noticed last night that Nihilo was running low on clothes and needed some new ones. So of course they took a few stops before. "So, Mocha says you look good in colors like...Red and Orange. Some thing to do with you being yellow." Deet said, putting one of the shirts in the basket, the other one already being warn, complete with a tag. Next came Nihilo's favorite part of the store...THE TOY PART! It was nice, kind of having the store to themselves. Deet loved spending time with the little snake infant, and bought him a snake plush toy, two small cartoon figurines, and a block set. Nihilo seemed abnormally content, but that could've just been Deet's imagination. Finally, Deet bought what he came here for: Some stupid hair gel"Ready to go, little buddy?"

Nihilo Well Godzilla, I mean, Nihilo, it's time for your first quest! You've collected all those nice items when you grew, but now the most important one (in your eyes) has gone missing! With the help of your guardian, you need to go on a hunt to find this missing item. During the hunt you must ask three people one question each, and record their answers (in English or your own version of English, so long as you can read it). Deet sighed, looking down the long tube of the plastic slide to see if he could find a small snake plushie. No dice. This was the third place on the play-ground Deet had managed to look, which was a feat in of itself since this was designed for some one one fifth his size and one twentieth his weight. Nihilo was near the swings, with his cartoon-covered notebook and a crayon. "Hey," Nihilo said, tugging on the jacket of a young girl, "Have you seen my snake plush toy? Its purple with yellow eyes..." Nihilo asked the girl desperately. "Uuuuuuuhhhhhh...Oh, yeah, I think my brother Toby found it. He's down by the baseball field." she said. Nihilo jotted down the words "Toby" and "Baseball Field". The rest was gibberish to any one else. Nihilo didn't waste any time, making his way over to the field, not even noticing his father stumbling behind him in an attempt to keep up. Nihilo looked around, before realizing that he had no idea who this "Toby" boy was. With out thinking, he tapped the shoulder a shorter boy with a bowl cut and glasses. "Hey, do you know where Toby is?" Nihilo asked desperately. The kid looked pissed off and was about to say some thing snarky to Nihilo...But then he saw a very, very, very large man with cat ears who looked quite irritated. "Toby went back to his mom. He's got red hair and he's wearin' an orange shirt." the boy said, Nihilo not even noticing the death glare the poor child was receiving as he quickly wrote in his little journal "Red hair and orange shirt". Thus, a new search began: Looking for a boy with red hair and an orange shirt. After a good ten minutes of looking around, Deet got a good idea: He hoisted young Nihilo on his shoulders so he could get a better view. "OVER THERE!" Nihilo shouted, tugging on his poor father's ear. "Hey!" Nihilo shouted as he was lowered by a now incredibly irritated Deet, "You! Did you pick up a purple snake toy?!" Nihilo asked the one who had to be Toby. He looked to be about the same age as the kids at the baseball diamond, and he did have the hair and shirt that matched the description. "Huh? Oh...Yeah...I gave it to my mom. She's down by the picnic tables with her friends." Toby said, polite enough. Nihilo quickly wrote down the words "picnic table". It was a quick discussion and explination, and before Nihilo knew it, he had his snake back.

Affinity/Aversion Quest!Nihilo Alright Nihilo, it's time for a little adventure! Your guardian must take you to a museum, in which you must visit the child section of their special exhibit. You must explore the entire child section, and participate in whatever activities tickle your fancies. The one thing you must participate in, however, is the trying on of several costumes that this exhibit has. You must try on at least the general's outfit, the zebra, and the safari suit. Anything else you put on is up to you.
