I've never really broke my bass clarinet, but the thumb rest did fall off in the middle of a concert. One of the girls in my band accidentally hit another girl's clarinet off of a chair and the mouthpiece broke.

I noticed that very few people have broken brass instruments.

We have a person in our section that can fix bells and I fix valves and slides on horns and trumpets

I've broken my clarinet when I first got it. I'm not gonna bother what I did. I was only the the 5th grade then. -.-'' Let's just say I'm glad I quit the clarinet in the 7th grade.

And the bassoon's keys just keep sticking. I dunno why. It just does. a couple of keys fell off I was was like.. "holy crap" It always seems to happen before performances.

I've broken a couple of trombones.. My trigger part broke. And I got a new trombone and the trigger was stuck.. and it kept falling apart. I'm using a school's now because I need to get it to the shop. It sucks because I keep forgetting there's not trigger. Another trombone I used fell down the bleachers. I was at the very top too.... And my slide is rusting.. I thought the slide was made so it WOULDN'T rust. eek

One of my friends in the Trombone section, well, during a marching competion last year, in the middle of the show, his trombone broke in half. I dunno how, but it did. And his trigger broke too. I swear, I've never touched his trombone.

I'm always banging my flute on the stand or into someone else.. or their flute...
I broke the head joint of a piccolo (the cork was still inside it) because some guy ran into me and knocked it out of my hands onto the floor...
the foot joint of my old flute fell of right before a concert on the 6th grade... and we had to stop the concert to look for it.... XP (still embarrassed about that...and i'm in 11th now...)
umm I dropped another piccolo down two sets of bleachers once... (stupid drummer freshman.......... ) and it um bent some keys...
I had an oboe play like stab me in the forehead with her reed because we bent over to get out cases at the same time.... (she fished that though...)
and ummm yeah a bunch of other stuff I don't remember.... (I still feel bad about that piccolo.... it was a school instrument....)

Only like a billion times! I lost my flute in my couch and got gross stuff all over it, dropped it on the street, sat on it, tossed it in the air and couldn't catch it (it would have smacked my face or worse), closed the case on the mouth piece, and a buttload more things have been done to it. I feel bad for my flute. Imagine if they could feel pain... neutral

my clarinet fell on the floor, and one key got bent so I had to send it in for a week to get fixed and it was right before a concert, I freaked. My old teacher even offered if mine weren't fixed in time, she would lend me her own clarinet to use, luckily it got fixed in time...

My sister was playing the clarinet... And she suddenly fainted... On my flute... She bent it completely round... It was horrible... It was actually in the shape of her rear end... I cried for so long...
