"Ack!" She jumped backwards for a moment, afraid of what he'd just done and then crept towards it slowly. She crept on her belly and moved forward very timidly. "That's fire Ifrit! You can make fire?" Her ears were slicked back and she was tempted to reach out her front paw to bat at it. It was definately frightening but something about it seemed kind and gently and amused her. Of course, he'd compared it to a flashlight, but she didn't know what that was anyway.

Ifrit nodded, smiling gently. Her fearful-yet-curious posture was... cute. He puffed at the will-o-the-wisp and it floated toward Xanabel, stopping inches in front of her. And what he'd said was true; it barely gave off heat, much less burned. "That's just a will-o-the-wisp. It's mostly for making light. I can make real fire, too, but there's not really any need for that this time of year." Or if he got attacked by someone with a real intent to hurt him or a friend. But... he was going to leave that little tidbit off for the time being.

Eagerly, pleased with his words, she bat at it and smiled in awe. "That's amazing!" Without realizing it, her back half had lifted itself up so that she was pretty much in a pouncing position. Her tails swayed back and forth as she attempted to bat the will-o-the-wisp back and forth like a cat with yarn. She really didn't have too much embaressment, especially when she was so amused!

Will-o-the-wisps were a rather boring thing to Ifrit most of the time, but Xanabel's innocent enthusiasm made him smile. He let her play with the little ball of light for a few minutes before standing up. "Ready to go in?"

Suddenly the little harmless balls of fire were nothing in comparison to how excited she was. Standing straight up from her position and looking happily at Ifrit, she nodded. It was the chance of a lifetime to her. She loved all things new and exciting and dark was good but it was better when an amazing ball of fire led the way. Not to mention she had an awesome escort. Bad things never crossed her mind for she had never been exposed to such thing. Fear was simply a thing that sprouted from misunderstanding and she had no fear for things she'd never seen before. Her ears were stark upright and she looked loyally at the aeon, as if ready to follow him to the ends of the earth if there was something new there to see.

Ifrit chuckled and poked the little ball of faux flame in front of him before prancing into the cave. He waited until Xanabel had caught up before proceeding farther inside.
After a little bit it got dark enough that even the will-o-the-wisp wasn't helping much, but he kept on, his pace moderated to match Xanabel's. Finally they came to the end of the rather long tunnel and you could almose feel the walls dropping back into the darkness as they entered a cavern. Even then the Aeon didn't stop, at least not at first, and proceeded forward a short ways until the will-o-the-wisp caused something in the background to glitter and a lump of rock became visible that was covered with tiny crystals. "Be careful if you touch them. Some of them are sharp."
The best part was yet to come but he wanted to let her enjoy the little glittering rocks for a minute first.

Without realizing it, she'd stuck closer to Ifrit then she'd intended to. However she was very careful not to bump into him at all because that would've been horrid! She crouched down a little out of fear every so often but tried to keep her pace matched with the one Ifrit had set. And finally when they reached the huge cavern not only could she feel the density and darkness of the air but she could see it... and on the edges of the darkness was where the will-of-the-wisp was... sending sparklings to some of the parts of the cave. Sharp though he warned her they were, they were gorgeous! Her eyes widened and she went up to the wall and tilted her head, "What is this?"

Ifrit chuckled quietly. "Those are crystals. A special kind of rock. Those are pretty small, too, I've seen a lot bigger." He padded up beside Xanabel and looked down at her, grinning. "Wanna see something really neat?"

"Crystals..." She tried the word out softly, tilting her ears back as she did so. Gingerly she lifted up her feet a little, easing them for just a moment. They were slightly sore from all her exploring but she couldn't complain, in fact, she never would because she didn't even know how to. She looked at at Ifrit, who seemed dark and menecing in this light, but yet she knew him to be gentle and kind. Nodding a bit slowly, dumbstruck with the beauty of the wall, "Yes please."

Ifrit took a deep breath after she answered, and after a brief pause he shook himself. Will-o-the-wisps seemingly leapt from his fur and scattered about the cavern, some chasing eachother before finding a place to settle. The cavern wasn't really a big one, but it was big enough, and all the walls glittered and sparkled with crystals of various sizes. The biggest ones were higher on the walls, but they all caught the light from the likely two dozen balls of light now scattered around. "How's that?"

There was a sharp intake of breath and she swirled around in a circle looking at all of it with an immense sense of awe. It was beautiful! Far more lovely than anything else she'd ever seen in the entireity of her life!
"Oh Ifrit!" She exclaimed. "That's amazing! You're wonderful!" She looked at him for a moment with all the appreciation and happiness in the world. The simplest things were new to her and yet they were the most gorgeous. Her pure innocent reactions were nothing short of priceless. She was a true example of those one unique persons in a city of many dull similar ones.

Ifrit couldn't help the wide grin and wagging his own tails in response to Xanabel's reaction. Her enthusiasm was nothing short of infectious. "Glad you like it... it's one of my favorite spots. And not many people know about it, amazingly enough."

"Really?" She said in awe. "Thank you so much for showing it to me!" She seemed content enough with the wonders around her and forever grateful for his little 'gift'. The fact that he could control fire was a big shock to her, for she thought fire was a rare and beautiful but dangerous thing. And now she knew better. It could be dangerous but also useful and it was always beautiful. Especially now as it richocheted off the walls.

The playfullness of the faux flames dancing around the room was more a reflection of Ifrit's good mood than any will of their own. The sincerity of her thanks and of her fascination with what he'd shown her were so... it was hard to say, really. Renewing? "We can look around some more in here if you like." Or they could go somewhere else. At the moment he was actually happy just to sit here and watch her.
((I think you spelled it right. About 92% sure. XD I could be wrong, though. *wants to go look it up now*))

"There is more here? What else could there be more amazing than this? It's so lovely... I've never seen anything like it in my entire life!" Her eyes followed a particular wisp and she jumped after it, playing a little game that small kits might play. She wasn't exactly childish so much as she was curious and delighted. It was all so new for her and she'd never played with anything or anyone aside from her brother and sister.
