I agree with you. Very good lesson to everyone in here. However, I don't think we should stop arguing/debating. That's just another way of learning. We need tone down to mean parts and argue civilly but not get rid of arguing completely. At least, I think we should.

Mitsh I think the Original Poster has a great disposition, a convincing argument, and sizzlingly good looks. Let's all worship him. /bows at feet
This is actually why I'm about to quit MR, too much antagonism about things I've long since grown out of, I'm hoping this guild doesn't go the same way.

So whether it's MPRILC or MR, I usually don't post much during those times because I don't have the drive to argue over s**t that has no definite answer.

DrasBrisingr And I don't remember writing a thread about "always assume you're wrong"...but I don't remember a lot of things. I'm going to go look for it now. Ahar. I found it, after all these long months. T'was hiding in the FAQ. DrasBrisingr Q: Do you mean that I’m wrong and you’re right?A: No, not at all. Whenever debating/discussing religion, one should always keep in mind that they are wrong. Because that’s how the opposing force is going to see it. So you should base your responses on how the other person will view you, which is that you are wrong. Don’t get all bitchy and righteous on anybody. You’re wrong, remember?

It's kind of sad, considering I've read through the FAQ (in editing) at least twice since we discussed this. Bah.

You have a point, Obscurus, but it's also not your complete selling point. Why get all mixed up in the drama? I don't post often during those times, but can't you feel when someone's being targeted? Doesn't it drive you to provide support to the person who's being antagonized for some petty reason? Mitsh is right when people just need to stop egging on the drama and just be where they are.
Sorry, just being general.

It is through strife that we find our way. If one's current path draws conflict to them, then that is their boon and their trial. Others may assist them, but one can never fight the battles for them as that is akin to walking another's path for them. And that is akin to theft, for as anyone can see in a person that has not been allowed the chance to live for themselves, they are not truly alive. Their spirits only know emptiness and bondage.
How else can we know the strength of our convictions, that the path we walk is truly our own, if we are not allowed to walk the path and it's trials for ourselves?
This I say not as a promotion to the infighting however. It is meant as a reminder that peace is not achieved through the enforcement of law over will. True peace is the kind that can exist in the most bitter of conflict, the lone flower on the battlefield that continues to be even as the world around falls to ash.
It is to this ideal I ascribe and hope to achieve.
...sorry if this doesn't really apply here, but it was something I felt compelled to say.
