Dalvar blinked at him. "Nuralizing, Agent Velvet, with a nuralizer. You should have gotten one with your uniform. It is a thin, silver, device? About the size of a pen?"

She took her own out of her pocket. It was, no surprise, exactly as she had described it. "Standard GiB issue. Flash it at the victim to erase the short term memory then fill in the blank spot with one you make up."

"the point of the gom jabbar expirament is not initially a weapon. While nano machines could work, I've seen bad things happen with such devices." Chisa shuddered to recall what Acella did to people.

"The use of eletrical impulses is not only safer, its cheaper and easier to target." She chewed again on the pen. "The reason for the box is so that you can control the area of effect. The box is insulated so the user and the, pardon the phrase, vitctim, both do not experience it."

She had inteded the gom jabbar box to be used as a training device and as a quick and non-lethal way of downing dangerous opponents. In the box, more control could be exerted, but a tile, or other small object the target would be in contact with, sould be able to produce the same effect at a lower level...

"No offense taken..." Dalvar said, lost in thought. There was someway to do this... she was sure of it. But what? She thought hard, looking for any old idea that could help.

"Ah!" She snapped her fingers, "Microwave rays! We could heat up the water molecules just under the skin. The victim would, in effect, feel as if the affected body part was on fire but it would leave no lasting damage."

She turned the Agent Velvet, "And I am sure it could be put into a gun for on the field use!"

Chisa sighed. "Nano-bots are expensive and much too easily detected, and like you mentioned, rays of any type could cause radiation damage, etc. The point is NOT to have any chance of leaving lasting damage. Not quite a stun gun, because if you're stunned it lasts a short time, or becomes dangerous." She pulled out a printout of cases where a stun gun had proved lethal due to medical conditions. The page was only an excerpt, but showed hundreds of victims.

"See, the GiB can't go around killing people, but simply immobilizing them against their will often doesn't work. Pain will give them a good reason to stop moving, while not depriving them of mobility. Being able to control intensity and hold out the condition indefinately gives us a bargaining tool."

Chisa turned to Dalvar. "I'm not sure a simple gun would work, but one that fires a wide beam could be feasible. Of course, they would have to remain on the target so long as it is in operation... Like I said, the box is for testing and training." It was possible, but if anyone would want to do the work to develop the tech to use it as a weapon wasn't a known factor.

"I'm not sure what Combat R&D do, I just come up with ideas and handle negotiations in the field when I'm not working on parapsych." She finished weakly.

Agent Red Velvet turned to the newcomer. "Excuse me?" he asked. Skating was not one of his favorite things. He noticed that Chisa looked slightly upset, so he put a hand on her shoulder.

"Chisa... Listen, what can I do?"

"Well, I have a little background knowledge with 'less-leathal' weapons. There is a flashlight with an extremely bright green light, due to the fact that the human eye is the most sensitive to green light, that will blind a person even if the have there eyes closed. So that person can only do one of 2 things: A) runaway B) shield the eyes with there arms. So what are some of the other ideas so far?"

"Okay then. So, what ideas have already been thought up so far?"
