Hmm...that could work, but what kind of questions would be asked? And thats why the 3 yays system is in place instead of a unanimous or even a majority vote, so it can go at a relatively quick pace, since this guild is fairly active. I do like the interview idea, however, it's like Angyles said earlier: Angyles Cerddoriaeth Anybody can look good for an interview, but it is the long term that counts. It's kinda like the guy that dresses immaculately for an interview: They may look good then, but as soon as they get the job, they immediately become a strain on the company at large. Also note that i sent out the test qestion to them some time ago, but a lot of them are taking their time to respond. Should we have a time limit on how long they have to send it to us?

I agree with a week. Also, as for an interview, it won't be just an Q and A that they can wing it, maybe see if they can hold a conversation and contemplate things. Maybe we should each take one person and test this idea and see how it works out. Also, this will create a link for new members with a mod so they might be willing to stay active in the guild because they know someone.
My general idea to get a good sense of the candidate would go as so:
- A general question about themselves.
- A discussion subject that the mod evaluates for content and general language use. Mod should interact with their post and get them to reply to their comment.
- If the candidate cannot express themselves in proper english, they should be disqualified.
- If the candidate has racist, sexsist or any discriminatory views that could offend, they should be disqualified.
Maybe I'm a little strict but I rather have quality over quantity.

Agreed, thats why i put this system in place in the first place. So it shall be, a PM or IM chat with the condidate and then the test post (if we feel the need for it)

Well now that it is settled, I'd like to try a test run. I'll PM one person, (I'll let you know who) and I'll report back to the guild if they have passed my evaluation. If I find them borderline, I'll make them post here and you can all give the good old yay or nay vote.
Edit: I have picked Ru-Shin as my first test subject! Wish me luck!

I've also been deliberating on a 2-strike setup, if we reject them once, they get a chance to redeem themselves, but maybe not on the same topic. If they get rejected again, they ain't comin' back. What'cha think?

I think that's fair seeing as some people may know less on some subjects than others. That way, the person could find better arguments and show their true capabilities.

I'd be worried I'd let in someone accidently who shouldn't be in here, so can I just worry about spam and what people post, etc? Pretty please? ninja
