littlekela Why is pink automatically considered a "girl" color? My brother likes pink. I prefer black, blue, etc, but I have nothing against pink (why would I waste my emotions hating a color?). My DS is white because that was the only color in stock, but I requested a pink ipod for my birthday (and got one). Does that make me more or less girly? Marketers want to make things accessible to everyone. They want to offer variety and customizability. If having a certain color makes you love the product more, what's wrong with that? Personally, I think they should keep adding MORE colors to everything. I like being able to compare and choose. =P Yea like lime green or sky blue

I think pink is all right. =0 Anyone can like pink. I have a black one. Because it just looks so.. cool.
I agree, more colors would be awesome.

xD I had a pink GBC when I was little.
And yes, I do think it's targeted at females. Oh well. xD
I'm not really that attracted by pink things, though. It has to be the right kind of pink, not eye-burning-death pink, and uh... I really prefer green, black, and brown.
I have a big clunky silver DS. The original flavor. I love it. xDDD

Pink can be for anyone. I remember last summer, there was a flux of men wearing pink in our local area. I didn't get it, but ok, anyone can do it. I myself have a pink DS and don't see anything wrong with it... except I would have much preferred a PURPLE DS. THAT would have been killer!

I saw a girl at the soccer feild with a pink DS. She was eight. gonk
It's sad that marketers would think PINK would appeal to girls. Platnum and Black are hot. That's all we need.

Yuo know that it's a feminine appeal things, girls are basically brought up believeing that we have to like pink. I mean we wear pink as soon as were born in hospitals to tell our gender. I don't know why, but it's just how it is. But I do wonder why guys don't have to stick to blue being thier favorite color. (And if you're wondereing my favorite color is neon orange.)

I really don't like pink to tell you the truth. I like black... and most dark colors.

._. I don't think it has to appeal to just girls, especially younger ones, and I don't think Nintendo said, "Oh, girls don't like white and black, let's put out a pink one just for them." I think Nintendo's just picking colors that would sell well, not to a specific market. They're giving us that thing... oh... what's it called... oh yeah.. CHOICE?
I'm 18 and I have a pink DS Lite. I love it. It's a very cute. It's not like it's an obnoxios pink, either. Not HOT pink which would burn my retinas. It's a soft pink. Very nice. xd That's not to say that's the only color I like, nor that I think all girl gamers like "cute". IF they had a teal DS Lite or neongreen, I might have gone for that.

I have the pink DS, I would have liked the black one but my cousin had that one already and I wouldn't want them to get mixed up. Plus I like pink, usually dark pink but oh well.
As for guys and pink stuffs: I have seen about 3 other people with the pink DS and they have all been guys. eek Go figure...

I've always considered pink as a stereotypically female color. Maybe the statistics say girls like pink more than men, but I'd rather say that's cultural. I don't know if that happened in the USA, but here in Mexico, pink male shirts were the latest trend back in my high school years.
And so far I've never seen a pink DS. All I've seen has been white, silver and black.
