. LONG, LOST, AND CONFUSED .
[ NEBTAWI'S PAST ] "Nebtawi, It's late. Where are you going?"
The Moonlit turned to his Owner, with an exasperated expression; eyes. the duel color of Red and green, stared pointedly into her own averted ones, Ears pressed back, his and his teeth clenched. "I'm going out for a walk," he replied in a curt tone clearly annoyed at being stopped, "I'll be back soon." Not that the Brown moonlit really planned on being back soon, but he'd rather tell her a lie then have to explain his reasons for leaving the room tonight, finding that it tended to be a lot easier this way.
Not waiting for her reply he turned and slipped out the door and down the stairs in a hurry, ignoring the calls that rang out from his owner for him to return. He wanted to be on his own for a little. As of late, Nebtawi's mind had been in a whirlwind of confusion, more so than normal, it had started a few days ago when these strange wolves had begun popping up in his dreams. The moonlit felt a friendliness towards these nightly visitors, a love for them. But when he would finally begin to grasp who they were, something would always wake him. So tonight he was going to spend his time in the meadow out in the forest.
He was vaguely aware of the explanation he would need to give in the morning, but he put that out of his mind for now. "That's can wait for later," he mumbled, "she'll understand." Keen eyes observed his surroundings, noting the crescent moon hanging low overhead, the soft warm breeze that cut through the cold air, and the path beneath his paws he was fallowing. It shouldn't be to far now. Ears twitching at the sounds of the night that surrounded him, Nebtawi felt himself relaxing. The forest always made him like this, everything was familiar outside the house, welcoming. Eyes staring straight again he pushed his walk to a slow jog, lengthening his gait as the path got closer to the meadow. Hopefully tonight the identity of his nightly visitors would be revealed; he couldn't deal with another night of not knowing, his head, and heart ached every time he tried to figure it out. They were important, the moonlit knew that much..
There it was!
Looking up at the appearance of the grassy clearing laying in front of his duel colored eyes, a soft smile caressed his maw and he quietly left the cover of the trees to walk into the grasses. Feeling them skim over his fur, and crumple beneath his paws, Nebtawi made his way towards a small portion of raised land. Soon standing at the top he found himself staring up into the night sky, eyes taking in the beauty of the crescent that by this time hung down overhead. Feeling the warm winds scaring away the chill of the night, Nebtawi closed his eyes for a moment, before they opened to looked down at the grass as he turned and pawed at the first a few times, then laid down.
It had only taken a few minutes before he found himself falling into a deep sleep, laying curled up in a tight ball he slowly began to dream.
It was dark, deadly dark at first, only a pin p***k of light filtered through the darkness. Feeling himself sluggishly walk towards the light, his eyes squinted as the light grew and expanded around him in mid-step before a color saturated scene played out in front of him. It was in the center of a dense forest, everything was dim; nigh time perhaps? There were plenty of large figures surrounding him, most with around the same fur as himself.. But when he tried to focus in on them, the image would distort and become blurry. Frowning he opened his mouth to speak but nothing came. Who where these moonlits.. They seemed to close to him. His.. his family? Not able to dwell on the thought for to long, Nebtawi felt something hit into his side knocking him over. "Hey, Nebbi. Play?" A young voice called out to him with a giggle. His expression was very smooth at first, though as if something clicked together in his mind, Nebtawi's eyes flew open wide and he pawed at what he knew to be a puppy version of his sister. "Play! Play!" She repeated again before jumping away.
"Of course Aiden." His own puppy like voice replied.
A name! Aiden. Turning over the thought in his mind Nebtawi's self jumped at his sister with a wide grin. Grabbing onto her ear he began to tug and pull laughing while she tried to squirm away, yelling out for him to stop between giggles.
It was then she grabbed onto his paw causing a yelp of surprise to leave him. Quickly letting go of her ear he began trying to get her to let him go when a shadow fell over them. Tipping his head he looked up at a unfocused image. Staring up he watched as the beings mouth moved and his sister reacted by releasing his paw and apologizing. It was talking? But he couldn't hear.. Straining to hear the voice things soon began to focus in. Seeing a face appear as he lowered to him, Nebtawi reacted by reaching up to touch noses with the figure. It was then the picture sharpened and he stared up in awe. "My Nebtawi.." The being cooed in a soft calming voice. And his own mouth opened in reply. "Mot--"
Caw Caw !
Jolting awake, Nebtawi blinked a few times as he stared around him, eyes adjusting to the glare of an early morning sun. What the.. where was he? Shaking his head in an attempt to clear it. Nebtawi jumped to his feet as he remembered why he was out here. "The dream!" He called out before closing his eyes tightly trying to pull it back to the surface. That figure! Who was it.. Feeling his grip on the face he had stared up at, a whine left him. He was so close! It was right there.. But it was then it slipped from hiss grasp and he stood there in shock. It was gone.. Feeling a frustrated grown leave his maw he began wishing for Aiden to talk with.
Wait, Aiden.. Aiden! He remembered her.
Joy overtaking him, Nebtawi would of howled if the same noise that had awoken him sounded through the meadow once again. Whipping his head around, his colored eyes landed on a stark black raven that now stared back up at him. It was that! That thing had woken him up before he figured it out.
It was on.
"I'm going to kill you," his growl tore from his throat, earning a squeak from the bird as it jumped, "tear you apart and though you over the cliff to feed the sharks!"
Lunging for the bird, Nebtawi felt his teeth skim the feathers of the wing as the raven took flight to avoid him. It was going to die. Chasing after the flying bird from the ground he would of kept after it, if not for a voice that called him. Nebtawi! Nebtawi, where are you.. A desperate voice cut through the air, and he turned casting one last glare at the bird before he made his way to the voice.
The voice turned out to be his house mate Luna. His eyes softened and he shook his head, of course the human would send Luna. She was almost like a mother to him after all, he wouldn't ignore her.
Oh Nebtawi, there you are.. We were all so worried. Lets head back, Luna called as he came within sight. Nodding his head just slightly, he came up to her side and they made their way back to the big house. "you know Sesshy isn't happy with you.. Sighing as he ducked his head, Nebtawi replied. "I guessed she wouldn't be..

After some time of getting to know each other, the two begin to open up in what may be a future friendship.
