Karnokoto So whats the difference between Emerald/Ruby? And where does Sapphire fit into all of this? Also, which game has Kyogre?Emerald is like Yellow was to Red and Blue, or Crystal was to Gold and Silver - an extra third one with some different stuff thrown in and a different helping of Pokemon available. Ruby is the third generation game with the Pokemon from Red/Blue, Gold/Silver but also with 100-odd more. It relates to Sapphire like Gold did to Silver: you can get Groudon quicker in Ruby, and Kyogre quicker in Sapphire. If you just really want Krogre, the blue whale-looking one, get Sapphire and you'll get Kyogre quicker. I'm kind of surprised you didn't know any of this, to be honest.

Something that you should probably note about the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, it's easiest to get Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza in Emerald rather than Ruby or Sapphire. At the very least, that might be something to consider. Plus, in Emerald, you have the Battle Frontier which adds a whole new spin to things that I really enjoyed. I hope that helps you make up your mind in some way, even if it wasn't very detailed.

AyakoSuzumiya I don't understand...why can't you play Silver on your DS Lite? I thought the DS could play any game boy game?! That's where you're slightly incorrect. The Nintendo DS Lite cannot play GameBoy Color and regular Gameboy games. It's one of the few things that I think Nintendo screwed up on. Honestly, I'm not sure, but I don't think the regular DS can either. It's kind of annoying, but people do have to deal with it.
