Introduction RP

[Starts] at page 11 2nd paragraph. [Ends] at page 13 10th paragraph.

After roaming the campus with RuiZhi the two finally ended up at their dorm. He didn't care what administration would say, from the very first time he saw RuiZhi here the need to watch over the younger grew. As wonderful of a school Shinkami was, he couldn't quite trust most of the students.

The male rid himself of his shirt and pants, folding them neatling upon the bed. He silently went over his day so far as he unpacked and changed into some sweat pants. He was rather attracted to some American fashion tendencies...just some. That whole...jeans below the butt thing...was disgusting.

At last he settled in to the bed and pulled the covers over his legs. He pulled the journal into his lap, a pencil case filled with different sorts of writing utensils stood upon the stand next to him. Fingers gently plucked a simple wooden No. 2 out. He had brought his own special journal...or more so journals.

A normal journal and a sketchbook. To record memories. Weiyuan smiled opening the sketchbook. A fresh new one. His hand started moving automatically, time passed, and at last there in front of him lay a sketch of Professor Araquenosse. He finished the peice with the writing of the Professor's name and his owned signature. The brunette put that to the side and opened the regular journal. New. Fresh. With a slight smile, he began to write in his home language.

Upon arrival I've already met one of the staff members. Professor Araquenosse. The man at first seemed strict, but upon talking with RuiZhi, he started to lighten up. RuiZhi will most likely seek him out again in search of that book the professor suggested. As long as he's still undecided on his life, I'll allow this.

I want to start finding the truth to those rumors. I've heard that Dr. Kenth was here at Shinkami. Oh how I'd love to continue my studies with the doctor. Better yet, become one of his apprentices. If I have to watch Rui all the time...the time for finding him will be reduced greatly.

It's rather confusing, actually. I want to go allow with what RuiZhi wants but this is something that I really wish to do. Plus I'm sure Alex would enjoy receiving a letter about him.

This new life has only just started. I shouldn't wear myself out. Things will most likely get more hectic.

Oh what will I do...Ancestors please guide me.>

The male put the pencil and the two books upon the table. He easily got tired after spilling out his thoughts onto paper. He switched off his light, lay down, got comfy, and prayed that tomorrow would be more relaxing.

The Start of a New Day
A Solo RP

<'He never knew he could run this fast. He never knew that this green mist would scare him so much. But why...why was he running to the source? Something was wrong. Something was just so wrong.

He looked down to the uncleared path he was taking. His...paws?...were covered in mud. Black oozing mud. He turned sharply. He knew what he saw. That...that mud it was eatting bones. Human bones. He ran faster.

There was a cold sweat all along his body. Everything about this place was sticking to his fur. Fur? Oh, yes...that was right. A wolf. He was a wolf. Always a wolf. He skidded to a stop. Suddenly he didn't feel like he was grwon up anymore. Nothing but a small helpless little puppy.

Large eyes peered over a log in front of him and pupils became points. "Laodie! (father)" The figure before opened an eye, his wolfen face strewn with effort. The green mist was wrapped all around him, squeezing...suffocating. He couldn't do anything...he was frozen.

There was a gurgling sound and a thump. The mist disappeared. The pup climbed over the log and nosed the larger image of himself. "Laodie...." The figure was still. It was cold. Lifeless. Dead.

The pup shook his head and backed off, growing with each step. He looked away, closed his eyes breath catching his long chocolate bangs. The wolf looked up and gazed at the shadowed moon and howled.'>

Charcoal eyes opened. Once again, he nights are covered in images of him loosing his father. They always have him portraying a wolf. Maybe...in a past life he was one. It would make a lot of sense at this point. He's always dreamnt that he was a wolf.

Weiyuan sat up, dragging his palms across his face. Any trace of tears were erased. The teen sighed and brought his sketchbook into his lap and a tin full of different colored pencils.

One stroke was all it took to get him into his own little world. Scenes of dreams of past swirled in his head. He only stopped his mindless sketching to see what this final peice was. A bitter sad smile.

A brown wolf, tears gathering upon eyelashes, howling at the moon. The green mist around his feet looked menacing. But something was missing. He closedhis eyes, trying to find what it was. He looked up, an image in his head became vivid. In the lower corner he drew a small clutch of mushrooms. Just like the ones back in that village. Now...it was complete.

Weiyuan signed and dated it before he put it away. The boy slipped from underneath the covers, fixing his bed. It was time to face the new day.

Weiyuan woke pale moonlight filtering through the curtains. From the look of it, it was 3 am. He sat up, a strange feeling in his lower regions. The last time he felt those muscles...was after that intense yoga session. But that time, it didn't come with a large feeling of satisfaction. Charcoal eyes looked down at the red-head beside him, a smile sparkling in those eyes.

Gently, he slid out of the bed shivering against the cold air. The brunette retrieved his pants from the bathroom, hanging them on one of the chair backs. It was still a bit wet. As silently as possible, he extracted his journal and sketchbook. He just had to put this down on paper.

Wei crawled back into bed, items in hand, very happy to have a warm body next to him. He didn't even have to think before he started to sketch his sleeping lover. It took awhile before he was completely satisfied with it. He put the drawing aside and focused on the words.

<'Damn. Holy ancestors damn. I hated this kid but now...I'm totally and utterly in love with him.

Rylenn. RylennRylennRylenn. My Rylenn.

The day started out with me being super protective over RuiZhi and then it turned into us arguing. He went of, cried, and I gave in to RuiZhi's feelings. Then we ate curry, which was good. Rylenn can cook. I wonder if he'd be able to make mooncakes if I gave him the recipe?

Then we went back into his dorm room. It's...not exactly how I would like it but...it works. I'll live. I'll clean it up most likely. But...how can I put it? The moment I sat down I felt...different. Rylenn and I...we started to kind of flirt and I literally pounced. I hope RuiZhi didn't see any of that.

We ended up 'showering'. Which ended up with us...making love for the first time. Then again. And now...I have to get back to RuiZhi. It's been...two days? I have to get back. As much as I'd rather stay here.'>

Weiyuan closed the journal and sketchbook, setting them away from the two. He layed back down, fitting himself into Rylenn's body. He didn't want to have to leave.

Weiyuan sighed, letting the shower spray rid his body of any left of lather of any sort. There was a gap building between him and RuiZhi. He wasn't sure if he would be able to handle that. Loosing his brother...that was the worst.

The fresh teen turned off the water, patting himself dry. He drapped the towel around his neck so his hair could drip dry. He eased himself into simple boxers and slid under the covers of his bed. His own bed. 48 hours in someone else's bed made you miss it. Even if you've only slept in your own once.

Wei pulled his backpack to him, extracting the journal and sketchbook. The first thing he did was open the sketchbook to the sketch he'd never show anyone. He petted the smaller figure. What he feared most.

Again, it was of two wolves. There was a larger one, closer to the audience it's head bowed tears sliding down its face, bangs drooping sadly. In the distance was another, smaller wolf. Easily walking away like it was nothing, a long braid along its back. It didn't take much for one to figure out who they were. He pulled out a porfolio folder and slipped that sketch into it, hiding it back underneath the matress. He didn't want Rui to see that one. Or himself for that matter.

He didn't have to draw something tonight. It had already been done. He opened the journal and wrote one line before laying down. His head just wasn't clear.

It read:

Back to Sanity
Introduction to Science and Technology Essay

Prompt

Talk about a piece of technology or equipment that has been imperative in your life and briefly outline the changes it has been through. How has it made your life easier?

Technology is a large part of today’s society, for both leisure and business. A piece of technology that has been imperative to my life is the television. It was one of the first pieces of technology that I had the honor to use at a young age and had been my main source of education outside of the materials the government provided the orphanage with. It’s influence has helped guide me into the path upon which I now take, while many other programs held my attention I did not take interest in cooking, or fighting, or watching people solve mysteries. Instead my interest in science began when I was very young but it was not until the first incident in China that I had truly become determined to stick with this career. For a personal reason that I find the television imperative to my life is due to the fact that it was through the television that I learned of my adoptive father’s passing in the China event. That moment has a large influence on my life.
Though televisions are currently very large, colorful, and loud, their form has not always been so glorious. The television screen was originally very small and in black-and-white. There were less than ten channels and even if you managed to find them, the picture was not very clear. Early televisions also did not have remote controls, changing the channels was a manual business of turning knobs. Color televisions were fewer in production but the first color broadcast was in Berlin in 1939. The larger sized televisions, with larger screens, did not start to appear until the 1950s. Mass production of color television did not happen until the 1960s. At the same time, videotape arrived. From there, television screens began to get larger and the sets started to become thinner. Image quality and sound quality have improved drastically and we even have imposed the same technology into computers.
The television is important to not only myself, but also many other people around the world. It is a large source for leisure and news and it is considered a necessary item to have in life.

Weiyuan looked over to his brother, writing silently. It felt right now. Times with RuiZhi was the cure to all his troubles.

He opened his sketchbook and briefly sketched a familiar face. A younger smiling face. He smiled tracing RuiZhi's face. Weiyuan put away the sketchbook, a grin still on his face.

The male stood in the now empty room. Everything was bare except for the furniture. The life was gone. Everything....gone.

He was gone.

Tears welled up in his eyes again, just like that time when he felt his heart being pulled apart. Already weakened knees gave out on him as the male crumpled into a heap letting out a cry the neighbors had not heard from this room before.

Anguish. Anger.

Pain.

Oh gods the pain.

Even though his lover wasn't dead...it just felt so empty to be without him. So lonely. Cold.

Wei was numb. So numb. He couldn't face his brother like this.

NOTHING.

Nothing was right. Nothing felt good. Nothing. It all became nothing.

And into nothingness he fell.

The brunette awoke to bright rays filtering through the window and with a groan he buried himself underneath his blanket and pillow. Honestly he didn't quite remember what happened after saying farewell to Scyeth. He did remember crawling underneath his sheets and pretending to ignore the world for a while though.

He opened his eyes, feeling more comfortable with the darkness. It was not the best of times to meet someone new yesterday. If it was today, he might of possibly made more of a friend than an enemy. The brunette sighed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and allowed himself to let down his walls.

Part of him felt guilty for taking out his emotions on the blonde. He had no right and that in itself was dishonorable. He wasn't going to allow himsel to be dishonest at all. He should do something more to...to apologize. Maybe sometime later. It was probably too soon, at least for Wei it was. He was still nursing his heart. With a sigh he crawled out from underneath his warm spot, shower time.

And now he was on his 9th.

Nine sketches. Consecutively.

Each one of them he deemed presentable to Rui, however only if he asked to see. Each image showed a different phase of his emotions, trying to put it all on paper before facing the world again. He didn't want to repeat what happened with Scy and Rui. Flooding other peole with his emotions was something to unWei-like. He wouldn't really accept it. Even if it was 'the right thing'.

But he could freely admit that he was having second thoughts on his words. Still, he would disappoint Rui if he didn't at leach try to search for the light. He still had his arts.

Wei sat up, finishing his now tenth sketch. He just couldn't draw anymore at this point. He would freshen up and...maybe train. Maybe bloating his ego would help him.

Weiyuan needed a change. Doing the same things felt so...different. He still wasn't over the fact that Rylenn wasn't on the island with him but at the very least he didn't let this halt his actions. In fact he created a new morning workout, something to push him past his current limit. Which was the reason he was here, at the harbor. The sea breeze was stronger than...that night...but it was cooling, carrying with it the sweet memories of their passion.

He slowed, stopping in his running and started to do his ending stretches. He could feel eyes on his shirtless form and smirked a little bit. The male turned to those pairs of eyes as they jumped and returned to their panicked work. He felt good right now, good enough that he should help them. ... And maybe antagonize their hormones.

Weiyuan slowly worked his way over, a charming smile coming onto his face. "Did you ladies need help?" The girls looked to each other before explaining their situation to him. He raised an eyebrow, well...he supposed he knew enough about the professors...

The male kneeled down, sorting through the packages. Of course some were easier to figure out than others.

First was the package of cigarettes, he had seen Prof. Shinji smoking on campus before. Unless the another Professor smoked cigs he was sure.

The then turned to the Big Bakery Collections Book, his first thought was that perhaps one of the female teachers would of ordered it...since well...baking was more of a female thing. Still, he did remember that Headmaster Prinwaltz had a soft spot for chocolate chip cookies. The other females...not as much. So, for Headmaster Prinwaltz this one went to.

Wei turned to the flower seeds, once more the package screaming a female teacher. Though he didn't see them outside doing any sort of gardening, unlike Prof. Veilwood. In fact he believed he saw him earlier in the morning checking in on some flowers on the grounds. The male believed he had a soft spot for nurturing his green thumb, so it made some sense.

He couldn't help but raise his eyebrow at the advaced magical research and history documents. Well, he supposed after this latest Chinese event the the professors would be doing more research and such. Of course there were many professors that were in the Magic branch of Shinkami, bu rumors said that Prof. Lovinghal had a wide range of books on magic. There was a chance they were similar to what she held in her office. Well, either way this would help the Magic Department immensely.

These two were harder to decide. The poison fungus samples and the magazine collection on newest research in biochemical medicines could only go to two different people. One to Dr. Kenth and the other to Prof. Manneth. Both of them were in the medical department and each had reasons to need them. The poison fungus samples certainly reminded Wei of the first incident in China which Kenth was directly involved with. Though he had heard that Prof Manneth helped find the cure for an alien disease. He didn't know of any projects that Kenth was currently on, nor did he know for Prof. Manneth. But it was because of the China incident he was sure that Kent would order the poison fungus samples, it was an event that couldn't be so easily ignored. Prof. Manneth would most likely keep himself updated on such things, he was known as a human medical encyclopedia, so he would receive the magazine collection.

Wei turned to the catagory book of machine guns. He rememberd in the second China event that Prof. Greg Larine was using guns. Well then, that seemed obvious that he held an interest for guns and would order such a book.

The last three items confused him the most. A decorative Chinese Sword, a documentary DVD on human wars, and an energy converter kit. Anyone would at first think Prof. Fang to of ordered the Chinese Sword since he was Chinese. He couldn't help but pause for a moment to admire the artsmanship on it, it had been a long while since he last admired art from his culture. But Prof. Fang was also known as a tactician which gave reason to why he would watch a documentary on wars. Learn from the past to avoid the future.

But for some reason he felt that importance of it being human wars would mean something to one of the elven teachers. More specifically Vice Headmaster Araquenosse. Wei sighed, this one being more difficult but due to Prof. Fang's more flamboyant personality he felt that the Chinese sword belonged to Prof. Fang.

From here his mind was exhausted and followed his previous thinking and sent the DVD to Vice headmaster Araquenosse and the energy converter to the last on left, Prof. Ameandiel. She was a nice professor, so not too much damage would be done if he sent it to here. In reality he didn't know which of the staff had a use for such a thing, he didn't really delve in on their personal projects at all. Perhaps she did order it, maybe for her own magical energy? It wasn't specific in what type of energy it was talking about. With today's technology he didn't know anymore.

The teen stood, and spoke with the girls. He at least confident with some of them but now his head hurt from trying to remember so many details about people. Not his forte. Wei left the harbor in hopes he did a good job.

Wei flopped onto his bed, immediately taking out his sketchbook and pencil set. He started to sketch things to send home to his family, preferring to communicate to them with his images over his words.

Communication...heh. Kenth certainly needed to learn how to do that. Especially with his own family. He just didn't get it! Perhaps some part of him really did want to know his real family, if he had anymore siblings or...anything.

It was a really small part though. They did ab-no. They didn't. It was for his best. He hoped.

Anyway...he did hope Kenth would listen to his words. He wanted to see the man he admired so much have a life. One with Alex.

His head throbbed a lot less from earlier but damn he was damn glad that she didn't hit him out of anger towards him. He'd have a lot worse than just a head ache. Wei made a note to check to see if there was a bruise later.

He sighed thinking, slowly, about the conversation they had. He really shouldn't be getting too far into their problems but he was indeed concerned for their happiness. He sighed into his pillow, pondering why the freak he was almost turning into Mr. Matchmaker. Love affairs were so not his forte. He groaned, pulling the covers up over his body even more. He needed to sleep.

The two had gotten a bite to eat and true to his word it was something deliciously spicy. And with that slight after-tang in his mouth he had bid his companion farewell. To say that it wasn't awkward the whole time would be a lie. The other attempted conversation and Wei would attempt back...but eventually fail.

The brunette sighed as he undressed and prepared to take a shower. He had a sore back and bum from sitting still too long. It was just another day in the life of a student here in Shinkami. What was he to expect?

Advanced Mathematics in Use

Prompt
Relate a situation where you were forced to apply advanced math skills beyond the norm. No, high school courses do not work. Talk about a science project, ect. Be specific on your reasons in solving the situation. Make sure you include any formulas and theories that have been used.

Wei sat underneath his favorite tree reading a letter from his mother. He smiled at the end seeing a sloppy kiss from his little sister. So cute. He moved onto the second page and was laughed out loud, hand covering his mouth looking at the little crayon picture drawn by Mei. There were three figures each with sloppy characters over their head of the nicknames Mei had given them. It had been a long while since Weiyuan had relaxed. The brunette was about to tuck the papers back into envelope when a smaller piece slid out. He blinked, reading the neat characters. He raised his eyebrow, a favor?

He immediately got up, heading back to his room. He understood, raising Mei and doing her job she didn't really have time to do these sorts of equations. But why she didn't ask her assistant he didn't know. Oh well. He sat at his desk, pencil, calculator, eraser, paper all his materials in front of him. She needed him to figure out the current value of some bank investments that her husband had put in throughout his life. Of course she was capable of keeping track of the ones that were also under her name but these accounts were under his father's name. Though now they were being transferred to her and she only knew the original investment, rate, type but that was fine. That was all he needed. The information for the accounts was all laid out neatly on this little card.

He sighed, settling in to do his work, he loved doing interest problems. Ma ma was kind enough to list them in chronological order, the newest first.

The latest one he had was from around the time he was adopted, a month before actually. So about 8 years old. It had an annual fixed interest rate of 8% a year and the original investment was about 800 yuan. [[Chinese currency: 1 Chinese yuan = 0.138043 U.S. dollars]] He looked down onto his paper, jotting down the formula.

A = P(1 + r)^n

A = 800(1+.08 )^8

A = 800(1.08^8 ) = 1,480.74 yuan

The second one was 10 years old and the original investment was 1000 yuan. Hm, annual interest compounded monthly at 5.75% a year.

A = P(1 + (r/k))^kt

A = 1000(1 + (.0575/12))^ (12*10)

A = 1000 (1.004791667^120) = 1,774.69 yuan

The next was 13 years old, the compounded continuously at 10% with an original investment of 500 yuan.

A = Pe^rt

A = 500e^(.1*13)

A = 500e^(1.3) = 1,834.65 yuan

The last was an annuity payment, and this one was old. 25 years. A payment of 200 yuan at 6.98% annual interest compounded quarterly.

FV = R((((1 + i)^n) - 1)/i)

FV = 200((((1 + (.0698/4))^(25*4) - 1)/(.0698
/4))

FV = 200(4.640370235 / .01745) = 53,184.76 yuan

Only four? Well, his father was indeed rather busy. It took time to agree to an investment and knowing him, he would be very picky on these things. His father was so smart. He smirked, rewriting his findings into something neater to send to his mother. It felt good to help his mother, especially at this distance. He stood up and stretched, stomach growling a bit. Okay, okay food time.
