Finally snapping out of her daze, she turned toward the castle and listened carefully before turning toward Silver. "No dear. You're probably hearing things because you're worried."

Silently, Madison traveled the path alone. Her head felt as if it were spinning. She came across the very place where she and Silver had sat the night before on the large, flat boulder. She had never felt guilty before but she started to become overwhelmed by the killing she had done over the years. More importantly, a new emotion was starting to take control of her, one no demon had felt for another. A feeling so indescribable, it almost scared her. Madison...was falling in love with King Silver.
The realization of it left her in a state of denile, but the truth was inevitable, the more time she spent with him, the more she seemed to fall for him.

Madison's attention suddenly shifted toward Velcor from her thoughts. Somewhat startled, she cleared her throat and motioned for him to come closer. "Hello dear. What brings you up here?"

"Darling, leave your sister to rest. Her visit to the underworld has taken more out of her than just her soul. Simply leave her with your love, and look after her. If she continues to fight, she will be fine, but no potion, spell, or enchanted charm will bring her back any sooner." Madison seemed lost in thought as she spoke, wondering what the fate of Mallor would be if she replaced the infant's human soul with that of a demonic spirit. Would the child's mind be tainted completely?
