I personally think the new items are too good. Compared to these new, pretty, shiny items, my old devil tail and nightmare scarf aren't cool anymore. These used to be a status symbol, but now anyone can look way cooler than I do for 2.50.... It seems unfair.
The admins need to go back and redesign all the old items to match the greater artistic style of the new items. The original items look almost comical these days in how poorly designed they are.

I thought people still wanted things like the devil tail and horns though..because of the fact that they are old items..and famous on Gaia. I think the devil tail and horns look alot better than the tail and horns you can get with the halo sweatdrop

Neitsabes Shadow__Dweller Well do you think it's any better than when it started? I hate the way some people post in the feedback forum as soon as something changes going "it's s**t, it's s**t, the mods are crap"...people forgot there are millions of members on Gaia and the mods can't do everything at the same time. However, I think that they are trying to make Gaia better. there are some things which are better, like games and towns, even though I don't use them cause I don't like them...they have made Gaia better..however..there are some things which have gone downhill too. Such as the items..I know they're trying to make them better, and they are in some ways...they have more positions and they are better drawn, but they seem to be coming up with the "same" ideas over and over..like scarves etc. and they also don't seem to listen to people's petitions since the items never reflect what the people are asking for. While Gaia has to change to keep up with the times and appeal to new people..it also needs to appeal to old members too..because it's useless getting more new members if the old ones are leaving. a)There's only a certain number of ideas out there b)Some items can't be made due to copyright infringement, and they don't want to make too many weapons until the battle system is out c)No, no it doesn't, oldbies who decide to quit aren't needed, gaia doesn't care about it's old members,. and logically, it shouldn't. a) fair enough b) true. I mean, loads of people ask for Zelda items and such and I don't think they should make them, but there are items made into petitions that aren't taken from anything else and they still don't use them. they don't even make similar items. they gives us scarves and halos by the dozen....they take what was successful and make it again but different...well it won't be as successful the 2nd time round. c) if Gaia truly has that attitude then they're arseholes. Of course they should care about old members. I'm not one of the first members but I'm old compared to peole who've just joined..and if they don't care about my views and only want to please new people then they're just like a money grabbing company who only cares about the number of people they have, rather than the people themselves. I mean, by saying that you're saying they don't care about you, cause you can be considered an old member too.

I think the originality of the old items is what people want..they are worth so much so that must mean people want them. I see alot of people saving up for devil horns and tails and old items.

Yeah I agree that even the old items aren't as detailed they are still status symbols in themselves. They say either Ive been here for a long time or im very dedicated... inflation is just wrong though, It bugs me because I want things like the katana, they were 25k then they were 50k and now who knows. and the new way to get gold is crazy. Now you can post once and get 50g which used to take what? 10 posts? and now after that many posts you start to get 1-4 gold a post... its just kind of wrong. Then theres the fact you dont get gold for PMs any more... it just kinda makes me mad.

I must say I feel the same as Shadow, the items that have been coming out lately are random and not kinda meh. For the first two years the items contrasted one another, but a little into 2005 the items started getting random. I think they should go back to haveing contrasting items.
Also like Blade said the items have been getting more and more flashy, but it isn't always a good thing. If you use too many of the new donation items your avatar can quickly become cluttered and look sloppy. That's one of the things I liked about the older items; not only are they cool and hard to find (which seems to be the main reasons most people want them), but they can easily be integrated into outfits and don't take up much space(for most of the items).
