"I don't know," Aure said sourly. "I can't base such an important decision on the small amount of data I've gleaned. I need much, much more data." She put the crayon down and sat, glaring about herself in a general circle. This was so not her idea of an ideal Friday. Visions of time spent with her electron microscope danced in her head.

Ayame frowned at the answer and snatched up the crayon, miffed. She gazed at Aure, her answer not quite a yes, and her look reminded the little butterfly girl of something she couldn't quite place. She remained focused on Aure, inwardly, trying to think of what to do as she brought her crayon to the wall and begin to draw.
Slowly things begin to take shape as she swapped crayons around, and a vague image of her target's thoughts leapt to seeming life on the wall. The crayons alone slightly butchered the drawing on top of her general childish method. Yet, as she fell deeper into drawing, she absently drew what could be pictured of a few things going through aure's mind. All that mattered to Ayame was to think about what aure had meant, what truly made someone a friend; none of the thoughts brought to "life" on the wall meant anything more then it ever had, something she enjoyed, especially while contemplating some new thing she had been shown or taught.
She paused and turned back to Aure slightly, "Ayame will be here...when Aure is ready to call her friend." She nodded and smiled slightly as she look over at the girl. Aure might not have decided that Ayame was her friend, but despite everything, Ayame felt secure in thinking of Aure as a friend. If little else she could find out alot through her, if not have a friend in her as she had described.

"I'm sure you will be," she muttered, glaring at the clock. It was broken, she was sure of it! There was no way it could still be that early. One foot tapped impatiently on the rug.

At that moment the lock turned in the door and Lavi stepped inside, various papers in hand and a rather thick book. without a word and a look of mental exhaustion she dropped it all but the book on the table in the kitchen before heading into the living room, believing she would find the two girl's there.
Indeed, she did, though from Ayame's cold expression as she doodled on her wall with the dwindling remains of a crayon she wasn't positive what to think of what might have happened in her absence. "Thank you Aure for looking after Ayame these past few hours. I know you didn't ask for anything for the faovr, but i felt obligated and from what i've been told you are rather fond of science. So, please, take this book for your troubles. I do hope you don't have it yet." She smiled slightly then sighed with weariness and sank down into a chair against the wall.
"If you need to call anyone to get you the phone is on the wall in the kitchen. I'm not sure if i'd have been able to manage today without your assistance."
She sighed and then sat up and handed the book over before leaning back into the chair to close her eye's in weariness.

She got up- perhaps too quickly to keep up the illusion that she'd had a good time- and bowed low enough to be polite before picking up the book and carefully tucking it under one arm. "Thank you for having me, miss Lavi," Aure said respectfully, turning and walking out the door with a more measured step.
Finally. If she had to deal with any more babies, she didn't know what she'd do.
