I hate going to Relief Society in a family ward. It makes me feel like Mulan in the early matchmaker part of that movie.
I so don't miss that. I HATE it with a passion.

WHile not exactly new to me in the heart of "Happy Valley" Utah, I have been in a few of the YSA, rather than STUDENT wards and I have hated some and loved others. My new ward right now is one as well, and it is firmly between the 2 extremes of love and hate. Hoping to get active here and tip the scales toward heart !

YSA stands for Young Single Adults. Those wards or branches are made up only of unmarried people aged about 18-31. It used to be that was only the case for college students away from home, like "BYU Wards" but these ones, well, some are students, some live at the home with the parents, some work. Sometimes after Young Womens or Scouts it is hard to really feel like you fit in with the moms in releif society, etc. You feel inbetween ages. So YSA wards have Relief Society and such made up of people around your age and have more activites than a regular ward.

Some feel like meat markets, but some ROCK.
