It was about time she grew up and took in a child of her own. She highly doubted she would ever give birth to one since she wasn't the type to get into that type of situation on purpose but adopting one was just as perfect! She didn't handle pain well anyway.
Crescentia was a gypsy, and it was because she was a gypsy that made people wonder where she would raise this child if she was always traveling and hated being in the same place for too long; the truth was that she really did have an apartment in Gaia...it was just rarely used. She had spent the entire previous day, some of the night and even the day up until now cleaning, refurnishing and baby-proofing the apartment. This girl really was new to the whole mother thing; hopefully she'd do fine. The little girl she'd been told she'd be adopting really did sound like a sweet little thing with red hair and green eyes. Her name was even Guinevere like the Guinevere from Camelot! It almost sounded like she'd be getting an Irish baby. That would be so cute.
"Aren't you just darling?" Crescentia cooed to the little girl in her arms. Guinevere stared up at this odd woman with wide, green eyes. Her hair was so short...but very curly, and her eyelashes were huge! It was like they were just a sheet of black that could cause hurricanes on the other side of the world! Oh well, she was still pretty. Crescentia adjusted Guin so she was more comfortable in her arms; they were going to be walking to her apartment in quiet little Barton town, after all! "You're going to love it! I just know it." She smiled down at the little girl in her arms and gave her a little bounce, winning a giggle for it.
Some time later, Crescentia didn't bother to keep track of the time, they made it to the apartment. "Well, Guinevere...welcome to your new home!" The gypsy grinned as she opened the door, revealing to Guinevere...a true gypsy haven. There were sheer fabrics hanging from so much of the ceiling to give it that lovely touch, there was a huge window that took up an entire wall of the living room that was also decorated very Bohemian-esque...was it really babyproofed?
Guinevere could enjoy living like this. It was quite pretty. She wasn't paying much attention to the little tour Crescentia was giving her, too interested in staring around at all the colors this place had. It was like a rainbow spit up this apartment! They were going up a set of stairs now--apartments had stairs?
"And this is your room..." Crescentia carefully held Guin in one arm so she could open the door to the girl's new room. It was so...green! Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. This was for her? It was so big! And so green. The gypsy smiled and put Guin down so she could explore the room herself. Once on the floor Guinevere pushed herself up to her feet and toddled around the room, staring all around with wide, green eyes. It was so bright! And so big! And she had a big bed! Guin's mouth formed an 'oh' and she went straight for the bed. "Do you like it?" Wait...babies didn't talk. Perhaps she'd just get a nod.
"Yes!" Guin giggled and climbed onto her bed. Crescentia blinked and stared. She talked! Oh this made life so much easier! Guin had taken advantage of Crescentia being distracted by her internal cheering to climb up onto the bed and under the covers.
"Huh? ...You tired?" Guin nodded. Crescentia smiled and walked across the room to sit on the edge of the bed. Guin cuddled into the pillows with a bright smile. This was so much better than the orphanage. "Well, I suppose it's understandable. This was a big day for you after all." She bent down closer to Guin, brushing her hair aside and planting a kiss on her forehead. "G'night, Guin. Sleep well!" Guin nodded and hugged the woman tight while she was still leaning over her, curling up on her side after Crescentia returned the hug and walked back to the door. She blew a little kiss to Guin before turning off the light and walking out, leaving the door open so some light would get into the room.
Maybe Crescentia was right! She was going to love this.
