Hookay! I think I may have decided on an acceptable mythbase for my Jeany. I did some research on chupacabras when I was still going with the Wolf Girl story, because they occupied the same general area and had some similar traits. So, I can probably convert Jean Mollie to a chupacabra, if it's okay for Fa'edom. I skimmed over the quest thread titles and I don't think anyone's doing chupacabras yet. Correct me if I'm wrong.
There are multiple versions of what the chupacabra's supposed to look like, and one of them is supposed to be like a dog on its hind legs. Using that I could retain Jeany's canine qualities without scrambling to find an actual mythical dog story. I've heard chupacabras called 'Mexican werewolves' though, which comes into Silver's territory. Personally I prefer the idea of chupacabras being animalistic, without the human traits and silly cliches that come from werewolfs. I would make the chupacabras an intelligent but pre-verbal social animal, that gathers in packs headed by an alpha who has pysichic control over its pack members (hence Jeany's hivemind ability).
The part I'm unsure of is the mythbase's magical qualities. Like the Wolf Girl, they're a bit too easily categorized in the natural world. They do have similarities to both vampires and werewolves, and can hypnotise and paralyze their prey, but is that enough? One theory says that they could've existed in Medieval Europe, and people modeled gargoyles to look like chupacabras, but other theories call them aliens or genetic experiments, which definitely wouldn't be valid for Fa'e.
I'll definitely look into the more magical theories about the chupacabras, but I might have to make up a lot of stuff on my own, which goes too close to an original myth.
So basically, I'm asking if looking down this path is worth the effort, or should I keep looking for another mythbase?

My quest thread says it all. I think that even if I get the Brigid myth to not break any rules it will be bending too many. So, I'm planning on switching my myth. Just thought I should post this here.

Vampiric as in drinking blood would be okay (because that's the myth I've heard), just steer clear of ONLY consuming blood and the usual vampiric weaknesses... Just call them blood-drinking wolves XD
It sounds more likely to be able to become an Ancient than the feral myth, so that's fine by me. Just think about what she'd become as an Ancient or what powers she'd have by then. Otherwise I'd say it's perfectly valid.
They're not undead, after all, which I think is the main problem for vampires not being able to become Fa'e.

Feral!Jeany would eat any kind of raw meat and sometimes bugs, so Chupa!Jeany probably has a reasonable diet too. I imagine an entirely blood diet would cause diahrrea or something. eek
I'm going to go with the guardian-was-an-animal route too, and have her and my personal guardian character meet after Jeany's already in her late childhood, so that the feral child stuff isn't completely lost.

That guardian idea sounds very cool, Meagrose. So the legal guardian won't be the actual magical/fa'e guardian? I like that! ^_^

Could I get some feedback on what I've posted so far, the first post is all, but it's content is also in some other posts. LinkI just want to know of things to avoid before I get to them, and some tips would be nice too.

Revamp'd! The exact details of Jeany's new backstory aren't entirely fleshed out, but the basic details are there. Good so far?

I don't know where it goes! But here seems as good a place as any, so as not to junk up the rest of the forum! Can someone please delete the quest now owned by "Raife1"? Because that's now a hacker! Yayyyy. DX I revamped the quest, so I don't need the old one anymore!
Thank you kindly! heart

I'm working with the Golem idea and was wondering if I could create my own Golem to destroy. They mention some golems in the myth but a golem is something created from clay, flesh, or steal and becoming animated by a soul or some other force. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golem
