Man... I'm gonna miss Thanksgiving ham though... The one day me mum cooks more than enough, and the left overs are good enough to last a month, I've gotta be on a diet. Yeah, it truly is horrible. emo

I love Christmas music! I don't listen to it in June, July or August, mind you, but From Thanksgiving till Twelveth Night, I'll listen to it all dqay if I have the chance. I have more Christmas CDs than any other kind of music, and I have a lot of music.

Well, I like Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I have 2 of their CDs. To me, I gotta hear "Christmas Sarajevo" & "Wizards of Winter" for it to be the Season! Is that wild house lights video that was being emailed around last year still in circulation? In another week or so I may listen to 93.9 a bit...I just don't want wall to wall classic Christmas because I'll get sick of it.
I don't know what I'm going to do about dinner tomorrow. I'm on my own & I'm not mad about elbowing my way into a restaurant. Last time I did that on Thanksgiving, when I got up to get another plateful they cleared my table & gave it to somebody else. :X I may just bake the Prego veggie lasagna I have in the freezer...and eat out on Friday when I charge out to SHOP! xd

I'm fixing dinner here for me, hubby, both sons, older son's fiancee and one of their friends. Hit the grocery store this afternoon for last minute items. To everyone here, have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

So, how many of you charged out before dawn on Friday to claw & scratch for doorbuster specials? And if so, did you have good fortune? My car broke down at the AC Moore in Durham at 8:30am & I spent the rest of the morning getting it fixed at the Saturn dealer. There went over $400 of my shopping (&bill) dough! crying

Sorry to hear about the car trouble... and the expense! Kevin and his fiancee wandered out the local malls and found some places were busier than others. I hate crowds so I'm going to wait for the madness to die down and venture out in a few days from now.
As for the turkey, I'm happy to say that everyone really enjoyed it. I'm expecting it to all be gone before the boys head back to their respective colleges. And for the record, it took just over 5 hours to cook, which is about what I expected. biggrin

I would have loved some turkey! But we didn't get one this year. Mostly since my father is away and my sister spent her Thanksgiving with her friends. So, mumsy and I just had a Cornish Hen, or whatever it is. It was still good though!
As for getting out and doing discount shopping, I have yet to get a chance. Then again, I really don't like crowds either, nor do I want to get clawed or scratched for standing too near a good deal.

Actually, it's only at opening hour that you might get trampled. Once that first mad rush for the hot items is done, folks actually settle down a lot. As I said, Southern manners are not yet dead. I was in the middle of it at 5:30am & the folks in Michael's & AC Moore were all being very polite as they crept about the crowded stores with their cartloads. Get out today & have a look around--there are still good sales today. I'm going to leave shortly for Raleigh & go to the State Fairgrounds. The flea market may be going on, & there is a big craft show they hold there every year right after Thanksgiving. Also might look at the Farmers Market at exit 297. I 've heard lots of good things about the restaurant there. And I like the Grand Asia Market just off Hwy 1 at Walnut St. exit, at Cary. Big, cool Asian market, with a fantastic bakery & great bubble tea! whee (from I-40 take exit 293, take the branch going towards Sanford, & stay hard right. Get off on the 1st exit you see as you merge onto Hwy 1--that's Walnut St. At the top of the ramp turn hard right onto Buck Jones Rd., which runs right beside the Hwy, & head back the direction you just came. It's almost like a U-turn! Go down to the little mall on the right & drive around to the backside. Can't miss Grand Asia there because it's really BIIIG! xd )
BTW---everybody ought to get the Dec. issue of Our State magazine. Beautiful photos & holiday articles & recipes! biggrin

Sounds pretty nice! Unfortunately, I probably won't get to see the State Fairgrounds or experience any post-Thanksgiving events... Not this year atleast. I'll see about that Grand Asia Market though! That sounds interesting.

I was so slack yesterday I didn't get away til about 3:30, so I arrived after 4pm--not much time to do anything. The Christmas Carousel show had lots of nice things but I didn't buy anything. The flea market was there all right, and HUGE! But by the time I got out of the show it was packing up for the night. Traffic was crazy around the fairgrounds--there was a game at Carter Finley stadium & it let out as I was leaving the fairgrounds. gonk I got over to Grand Asia though, & bought a couple of small gifts, some scallion buns & a lovely iced green bubble tea! xd I'm convinced they use DeeDee green tea mix for their green bubble tea. I have packets of DeeDee & it makes a tea that tastes & looks just like the bubble tea at Grand Asia (minus the ice & the bubbles).

(I watched them make one once....)

Yawn! I have to admire those of you brave enough and wide-eyed and bushy-tailed enough to get up (or stay up) for the those early bird openings. I'm too much a creature of comfort, I'm afraid. The bed feels too good at midnight till 6 a.m. 3nodding

It looks like a Kiwi smoothie! Just like I used to get from the local coffee shop back in Korea... That place whooped Starbucks, and had some great food too.
Green tea is great though. I really love it. But I think it's best when hot/warm.

Starting to hear more and more Christmas music. Really enjoy listening to Trans-Siberian Express, too. Also like Mannheim Steamroller's versions of the caroles. Other Christmas music preferences are Jim Brickman, Kenny G, Josh Groban, and ... are you ready for this ... the Muppets! blaugh
