ralyn123 I dont exactly play bass but my BFF does. I play bells! There are only 3 girls in drumline at my school! I mean seriously, isnt that hella beast?!?!? biggrin wink confused Okay. . . now I play third bass for winterguard, my friend quit for the season cuz she tried out for snare and didnt get it. crying But 4 tryouts, I got third base over this guy!! Now hes playing cymbals.

Last year there was one girl in the line on first bass and two girls in pit. This year changed so it's all guys line and all girls pit and one boy. The only problem was that I was the only vet in there so I was Pit Maestro as our director said. But I play 3rd bass during football season and glock in competition. I switch during concert season to Bari Sax.

heh. we have 3 girl bass players. one is section leader (uber b***h but good player, i feel so sorry for the section) on bass 2, a 2nd year on bass 1 and shes pretty good for her amound of experience, and a 2nd year on bass 4 and she ******** sucks! cant count, march, nor memorize music. so id say girls have already taken over the bass line

I did bass last year, but hurt my knee right before the first game and was on the sideline the rest of the season. While I could move my leg, I was good though lol For it being my first year marching, I kicked a**...which is not how I ruined my knee lol I fell. I would've had the little bass, which weighs NOTHING, but I gave it to a noob boy cuz he's a whimp. I'm so short that anything bigger than the second smallest one we have would've been too awkward to carry.
Doing snare this year, which to me is way more awesome as our bass line has a long-running tradition of suckishness.
Being the only girl on my drumline is awesome. And our instructor last year is a woman, which was nice, but we have to find someone new this year...

My bassline; that's right. my bassline, has four guys and one girl on Bass II.
She's the most badass, chick on our school's drumline in history. To be honest I underestimated her when I met her, but I was proven wrong. B.A.M.F. forever, yo.

HELL YEAH I'Z FEEL YOUR EVILNESS WE WILL TAKE OVER THE LINE THEN THE BAND AND THEN THE WORLD.... i should know because i get to march in a core (DCA) MCL (music city ledgen) olny girl and hell yeah there are some....perks ((hot college/older guys shirt less)) {drool bucket comes in handy}

You know what? I play 3rd and I have no clue how anyone can hold 5th bass. I could never do that. Anyway, I am in no way striving for girls to take over drumline. The guys are too much fun. But Im friends with the only girl snare and the ony girl tenor. I wish the other girl on bassline would switch to cymbals. One, so we can cover all territories, and two, because she is really mean and our poor bassline should not be soiled with such a (words i cant say).

ok, so i read alot of the posts and i have noticed that yall think we guys kinda suck. when i was in high school i was called mallet/percussion guy. why you might ask? well, cause i ruled. i ran the pit section, was the loudest bass drummer, though i usually played snare, and had to spoon feed from a silver platter the music to half the section, pit and drumline. bass drums snare drums, tenors and cymbals all have their job. bass drum provides the back rythem, the "funk" you might call it. snares are just wanna be tenor players who try to show off. and tenors are just awesome. as for cymbals, they really show boat, here is a small challenge for ALL bands, if you can post a video of you performing a successful suicide cymbal flash with out injury, i will call you awesome. until then, ill call you rocker.(btw, the way my section went down, we had a chick snare player and 2 chick cymbal players)
