10/13 - Arrival of Lustra!
With a quick RP based flatsale on Friday, October 13th, 2006 [PARASKEVIDEKATRIAPHOBIA!!!], Tani won a new Malu! Her name is Lustra!
 The entry: tani duh! Prompt Number: #1, for the female.
Entry:
Citrine had often wandered out alone, but normally she did so without purpose or cause. Tonight was different. She was sitting at the temple for sometime, watching the sunset and then the moon rise, and saw smoke rising above the treetops to the east. Curious, she started in the direction of the growing cloud.
It was still before sunset when she left the temple, but now it was becoming increasingly dark, like time was moving faster and midnight was fast approaching. She looked up but couldn't see through the dense forest around her, a chunk of the moon concealed itself behind the canopy. The smell of scorched groung, leaves, and wood filled her nostrils as she continued farther. She paced past a patch of burned land, a sliver of grey smoke still slithering towards the moon. Citrine paused for a moment at the grave of someone's fire and thought to herself "I'm sure some rowdy young ones are just having a campout here." Pressing a cream colored paw lightly against the earth, she felt that it was still warmand then trodded on without making a sound.
Sparce pathces of smoke seemed to be filling in the open space around her, and soon she was engulfed in a thick, light grey smoke. Sniffing at this gaseous substance around her, she noticed it could not be smoke because it did not have that burned smell. It was actually fog. She looked up towards the sky once again but could only see the blur of a golden orb above, the moon was not visible anymore. She felt it grow colder as she continued farther into the fog, moderately slowing her pace. Something just wasn't right tonight.
Snap! Citrine pivoted around to see who was there, for twigs don't break by themselves. She heard soft hoof clatter nearby as the flutter of wings filled the air and birds left their nests. "What's happening?!" She thought, her heart was pounding in her chest as she strode slowly back away from the noises. The fog had become so thick that it was very difficult to see the trees around her.
"Well, well, well. What have we here?" The voice was that of a male. He cackled softly. Citrine did not dare turn around yet. "Have you come to join our party?" He had a sly tone in his voice. What kind of "party" was he talking about.
"No. I-I came to investigate the smoke. I'm not here for your party." Citrine stood her ground and said courageously. She couldn't lose her cool now, not when she could be in danger.
"Ahh, well, I'm thinking you may see things are way soon enough," another voice said, and a malu appeared in front of her. His dark green coat made him blend in with what little shrubbery she could still see, but his eyes glowed yellow even in this darkness and mist. "You know, we aren't here to play games." Citrine turned 90 degrees so that she did not have her back to either of the males around her.
"Yes. Games aren't in our sillabus for this evening," the first voice said again. Citrine still could not see this Malu. She was worried as to if there were more. "I'm Claiger. The male to your right is Posduin. Our other friends should show up shortly." Citrine's heart fell at this. Other friends? How many were there? "And we're looking to have you join us."
"I'm not up for a party, uh.. Mr. Claiger."
"Oh, but I think you are, Miss... ?" Posduin added, his voice sounded warmer now. More inviting than Claiger's, Citrine was still partly suspicious.
"Cit... Citare." Citrine lied through her teeth. She couldn't give them her real name.
"Well, Citare, we're all followers of the God of Caché, you've probably heard of us." Oh, yes, Citrine had heard some about them. Only bad things though, how they hide in mists and blend in with their surroundings, as the word "caché" implies, and would ambush fellow Malu. She had heard of there being hundreds of these "cachés" hiding in one spot, waiting for their prey. "We're only looking to gain some more support tonight," Posduin continued, "and you would make a perfect resident. You have a naturally colored coat, which is the first requirement."
"Oh, really? I would be able to join?" She spoke with some enthusiasm in her voice, but she didn't mean to. She looked around again, and the mist seemed to grow even more soup-like. Why had she said that? She doesn't want to join! She gulped down the lump that had grown in her throat over the past few moments.
"Yes! Citare! You would!" Claiger's voice seemed to summon up feelings from her gut, feelings she didn't have, she felt the need to join. "We are very kind to one another, you know. We'd love to have a young femme such as yourself withing our queues." He approached her now. His pelt was a dark grey with splotches of shades of brown, his left ear looked as though it was missing a large chunk.
"Well, sir, I'm actually somewhat interested now." She gave him a smile as her countenance changed to an approving stare. "I'd like to know more." With these words falling from her lips she could feel her heart shatter, all her beliefs leave her. But she did not budge, did not notice how uncomfortable she actually felt. She could feel however, the heartbeats of others raging around her.
"Well then, come along with us." Claiger paced beside her as she started to follow him. The mist cleared slightly as many, many Malu stared back at she, Claiger, and Posduin. She could not tell how many, they seemed to blend into one large force, one Malu, one destiny. What she could count was the number of eyes looking back at her, glowing with pleasure, happiness, machinelike obedience.
And in that moment, she felt as though she had arrived home.

Arrival of Obsidian!
After the flatsale hosted by [ ipod ], in which I won no malu, [ ipod ] gave out several free semi-customs! Including one to me! I received the beautiful Obsidian!
 First Meeting Roleplay between Lustra and Obsidian, first meeting. Semi-Informal.
Lustra walked slowly through the temple, heading for the exit. Her time was up with the Goddess of Stars and she had a hunger pain that she needed to get rid of.
She headed down the marble steps from the temple and back toward her dwelling. She wasn't sure what she had to eat there, but she was sure to find something. It was already sunset and she had not eaten since before noon.
Even closer to nightfall, she found herself on the outskirts of the Nature Packs' normal boundaries. But she wasn't alone. Sitting on a small hill just east of where she was standing was another malu. Approaching the malu, she saw that he sported a darkblue pelt with some lighter markings, and large blue-colored wings. She had never met this malu before, but today was as good a time as any.
"Hello." She spoke as she came closer. The male turned his face towards her, orange eyes looked back and yellow markings adorned his eyes and forehead. "I'm Lustra. I'm not sure I've seen you around here before..." She sat down next to him as he began to speak.
"Yes, I do believe we have not met." His voice was warm and inviting, but did have an assurance to it. Not a voice of a malu that gives in easy, but not a voice that was mean either. "I'm Obsidian. It's nice to meet you Lustra." He gave an awkward smile, and looked back up at the sky.
"What are you looking for, Obsidian?" Lustra inquired. She looked up at the sky herself, and saw infinite meaning, but nothing that immediately caught her interest. Just little.. glowing thingies that she knew were important. She looked back out over the forest she had just walked through, it resembled a black hole more than a forest. The moon had already risen and the night was becoming darker.
"I'm not sure." He paused, almost uncomfortable. "I'm a follower of the God of the Night Sky. It's only natural I find the nighttime consuming." Obsidian looked back at Lustra, her coat was still bright even in this darkness. She seemed enthralled by the nearby forest.
"I follow the Goddes of Stars. We may be more alike than we know yet. I'm suprised we haven't crossed paths before."
"I am also surprised at this... Maybe there's more in our future together."
And at that, they sat and watched the sky until sun up.

Roleplay between Lustra and Obsidian, takes place a few nights after their first meeting. Formal.Another Night Ever since Lustra and Obsidian's first meeting, Lustra had found more meaning in the night sky as a whole. Tonight was another of those nights where she walked out an elevated area near the forest and stared at the ever darkening sky. Her eyes darted from star to star and then to the moon until she felt she had seen all the stars in the sky.
"Here again are you?" Obsidian was watching her from afar for several minutes before mustering the courage to see her again. She wasn't hard to find in this darkness, her coat glimmered in the moonlight and the starshine.
Lustra was visibly suprised by his arrival, jumping slightly at the sound of his voice and turning abruptly. At first she did not see him, his dark pelt blending in with the darkness around them, but his eyes and face markings gave it all away. "Yes, I am." She spoke slowly, cautiously almost, giving a warm smile in his direction. She giggled slightly. Why was she back here? She did like the glimmer of the stars above her head on a dark night, but she felt there was some other, hidden, reason she had yet to find in herself.
Obsidian took a seat next to this familiar face and looked up at the sky himself. The sky was conforting to him. It reminded him of the past, present and future all at once. You see, what one sees as stars in the sky now, is really starts a long time ago, the "present" of the stars is really our future. After many moments of silence, Obsidian took a leap of faith. "I really like sitting here with you. It's just... very serene, and the fact that we have similar gods... well, it makes the moments together have a positive vibe to them..." He paused and looked down at the ground sheepishly. What was he doing? How could he just come out with a question like that?
Lustra's jaw dropped as her heart was in her throat. Did he mean what she thought he meant? She pieced her mind back together quickly and looked out over the dunes in the distance. How could she respond to that? Awkward silence followed and she knew she had to say something. "Yeah, I enjoy it also. It's quite peaceful and relaxing." She doubted this was the kind of response he was looking for, but she didn't know what to say. "It's really comforting." She added quietly, looking over at Obsidian with a warm expression over her countenance.
"I'm glad to hear that. For a minute I... I thought you were going to say you hated my company.. or something..." He gave a little laugh at this, as did Lustra. She knew she couldn't hate him, and now he knew it too. Or atleast knew she didn't hate him now. Obsidian looked up at the sky, looking at two stars in the northern part of the atmosphere above their heads. "Think we'll meet up here a lot, Lustra?" He spoke with a little bubble in his words, separating the syllables "Luh" and "Strah."
"I hope so."
