An brightly colored malu sat quietly beside a tree just outside the forest, and within veiw of the temple. His ears swivelled quickly as he listened for friends, family, anyone really. Every so often his head would turn toward a sound, and he hoped it was someone he knew, or someone to be friends with. He saw several adult malu leave the temple, but none of them wandered in his direction.
Uneasy, he stood up and paced around the trunk of the tree and then placed himself back in his original spot.

Amadeus causally strode along the line of trees, glancing around every now and then as if looking for someone.
He had grown a bit over the weeks, and he felt calmer then he used to. He had even nearly mastered a very proper, and elegant walk, to where he didn’t have to think about it anymore. Head held high, but a causal slightly annoyed look on his face he paused a moment and called out “ODYSS!”
At that moment something caught his eye. Something bright an orange just up ahead of him. he blinked for a moment trying to make it out till it moved, it was another Malu. Not Odyss of course. But one he had never met before.
Amadeus smiled and trotted off in the Malu’s direction. Might as well say hi,

Synapse yawned for a moment before he heard footsteps behind him. "Huh?" He turned slowly to see who it was, what it was, and noticed another Malu, about his age, with a white muzzle and orangey-brown pelt. He hopped to his feet and inspected this young malu carefully. "I hope he is here to be friends..." he thought to himself. He had never met a Malu who was mean.. and he didn't want to, but he had heard of them from both Karma and Citrine. He believed them too, there were some pretty outrageous gods out there.
But, this Malu did not look mean, he looked kind, and Synapse was ready to find out more about him.

Amadeus walked up to him, smiling warmly
“Hello” he greeted once close enough he sat down and looked at the Malu tilting his head to the side a little “I have not seen you around before, and you kind of stand out.”
he strained his head again.
it had been a while since he met someone his age… or close to his age. All of his little friends had all grown up really fast, Amadeus wondered why, and was slightly put out by it. Vivaldi told his it was just cause he was a late bloomer. But he felt kind of silly when ever he was around his friends.

"Well, he does seem very nice!" Synapse thought.
Synapse gave a little snort as he began to speak, "well, I'm Synapse. I haven't really been around much yet." He, also, sat down after that and continued speaking. "I do stand out... don't I?" He looked around silently for a moment, noticing very little around them that was orange or yellow.
"Mind if I asked what your name was?" He was excited to be meeting someone his age, the only other Malu he knew were all adults... they didn't talk about anything interesting. Just about Gods and Goddesses... and temple... stuff.

“Oh right” Amadeus giggled slightly “I’m Amadeus” he nodded his head politely
he was not sure why he was treating him like he was an adult, he guessed he was just used to it.
he blinked for a moment and tried relaxing his posture a little, didn’t want to make himself look stuck up or anything
“so, whats your name?” he asked

Syanpse pondered something for a moment. "Amadeus is an interesting name!" He nodded as he spoke.
"I'm Synapse." He wiggled his tail as he tried to think of something for them to do since he believed this other young malu, Amadeus, may be becoming bored of him already.
"Wanna goooooo.... exploring?!" He jumped to his feet as quickly as possible as he said that. He wanted to go exploring very much, but no one he knew wanted to go with him.

Amadeus Giggled at the comment about his name. He thought Synapse was an interesting name as well.
He perked his ears forward at the mention of an Adventure. People friends always had new places to explore. Amadeus go to his feet as well
”sure” he said smiling “do you know where we can-“
It was then that Amadeus caught sight of the four little wings on Syapse’s back. He had seen two wings before. But never four.
Amadeus Gasped and walked over to get a closer look
“Oh wow! You have four wings!” he exclaimed, impressed

Synapse looked at his own back then to the wide eyes of his new friend. "Yeah, I do..." He stretched his wings for a moment, and gave them a little flap. Synapse wasn't one to stress over looks, and this was the first time anyone had noted his double wings. He wasn't sure how to respond. "I can't fly or anything though, so at this time they just look.. pretty. Still want to go exploring? I'm sure we could explore the larynthine depths of the temple!" His own eyes widened at this remark.

Amadeus looked from the wings over to Synapse. Slitting back down, instinctively returning to his dignified posture.
“The temple hum?” he thought for a moment. One ear drooping to the side slightly
He figured he knew the temples pretty well, thanks to that little one Odyss, always moving around. But he was pretty sure Odyss had not worked up the courage yet to take Amadeus down to the lower levels. And if Amadeus was looking for Odyss, he suspected it would be wandering somewhere new in the Temple.
Amadeus looked back at Synapse and smiled “sounds cool to me. do you know the way?”

Synapse gave a wide smile, "Nah, I don't really know where to go. But that's part of the fun, isn't it?!"
He hopped up and down quickly. "I do know, however, that the eastern hall is probably best to get towards the lower levels. I've seen the stairs!" He remembered when he started to go down before right as Karma appeared and informed him of how late it was getting... and that he needed to get home. He looked over at the sun for a moment, thinking, well, it's still pretty early, I'm sure we could get pretty deep into the labrynths before nightfall.

“Alright then” Amadeus said getting to his feet again and started off toward the Temple. Pausing a moment to glance back at Synapse
“It’s not to dangerous I hope. Some of the older Malu where talking about a hidden underground place that didn’t sound to appealing”

Synapse shuddered slightly, but not visibly. It couldn't be that dangerous. "I'm sure it's fine," he gave a little shrug. "I mean, there can't be anything down there? Could there?" At this he then started contemplating whether or not there really was something down there. He then walked and caught up to Amadeus.

Amadeus paused a moment “uuhh, Iiii don’t really know about that.” She turned to look at Synapse “it might just be rumors, but I heard some of the older Malu talking about some kind of underground place in the temple, they seemed excited but from the sounds of it I’m not entirely sure it sounded all that safe” she glanced back at the Temple “or pleasant” he perked his ears forward and glanced at Synapse “are you sure you still want to go? I mean… if we do get in trouble… you’re a fast running… right?”

Synapse giggled quietly at the reluctant boy. "I'm sure we'll be fine. I'm S-U-R-E." He trotted forward a few steps. "If there was REALLY something down in the depths of the temple, I woulda heard about it. And seen it. And I would have defeated it already!"
Synapse looked at Amadeus curiously for a moment, "why? Are YOU scared?" He made a somewhat mocking face at Amadeus. Not that he didn't like him, but that Syn wanted to explore the temple, and didn't want to do it alone. He wanted his acquaintance to come along.
