pnay_babi Canon: Naruto Sai Sasuke Lee What I WANT: Neji Gaara Naruto Kiba Honestly, why is everyone still saying SasuSaku is still canon? Sasuke isn't even there anymore and there have been WAY too many NaruSaku hints. I was just wondering. EXACTLY! I think people get too supportive of NaruHina and throw NaruSaku out the window as a result. I've noticed that most people support NaruHina, SasuSaku, NejiTen and ShikaIno altogether because 'they fit well'. Sorry to those who have actual reasons (there's a lot of them out there), but that's what it is for the majority of Naruto fans I've seen on the net. Or, Gaia specifically.

Can you give me a scene where either Naruto or Sakura specifically confess their feelings for each other? Can you give me a scene in which Sakura shouts, with tears in her eys, "I love you to death!" The Yamato and Sakura scene? Yes, of course. Leave it to a character who knows nothing about Team 7 and its former relationship to tell Sakura who she REALLY loves. [/endsarcasm] SasuSaku can't be canon? Oh, how so? Take into consideration that Sasuke is still a major driving force for Sakura. Her aim, as well as Naruto's, is to bring him back. Also, There is a possibility for it. My reasons for supporting SasuSaku is that, from the start, the relationship shaped both characters. Yes, it was a silly childish crush in the beginning. She was a fangirl at first. She liked Sasuke because she thought he was "cool." But after the Forest of Death scene, she learned more about him. She was entrusted with his secret, a secret that she didn't want to keep. From that moment forth, she became concerned about him. Did she really FANGIRL over him after that? No. And why? Because her feelings were maturing. She protected him, cried for him, was willing to die for him [the Gaara fight], and even was willing to betray her allegiance for him. These are not signs of "just a crush," there were definite signs of deeper feelings. Kairi.nin
And if she didn't give up in the past, what makes people think she'll give up 2.5 years later? She spent a good portion of Part I trying to get with Sasuke, so why would she suddenly give up? When the three of them first met, I recall Sakura saying that her dream involved Sasuke.. or something like that, while Sasuke's involved killing his brother and restoring his clan, and Naruto's involved becoming Hokage. Hints of the future, maybe? It's possible. (quoted from the SasuSaku Debate Thread ) As for the Naruto factor: --The Trusty Sidekick-- Naruto openly says that he knows that she loves him. He acknowledges it by seeing her reaction a few times. Starting with when she finds Sasuke “dead” after the Haku fight, her hysteria showed that she wasn’t just crushing over him. And finally we see that he accepts her feelings when he promises her that he was going to bring him back. The likeliness of this couple happening is very slim by standards of reason, Naruto is a loyal person and with Sasuke’s absence, he wouldn’t move in on Sakura when he knows how she feels about him. Lee was never able to get the final leaf, symbolizing that maybe Sakura is his first love and will move on.

He cares for her dearly, yes, but proof that he loves Sakura in the way she loved Sasuke has yet to be seen. Candy Quackenbush I've noticed that most people support NaruHina, SasuSaku, NejiTen and ShikaIno altogether because 'they fit well'. I only really support SakuraxSasuke. I'm not a fan of either NejiTen or ShikaIno (LeeTen & TemaShika, baby!) And I'm iffy about NaruHina. It's cute, but there hasn't been enough development for me to really ship it. Really, I'd rather see Naruto complete his goal in life -- to become a Hokage. He's all about friendship and support; he's not too big on love. That is Sakura's category. Love defines and pushes Sakura. And right now, her love and determination is pushing her to become stronger. --- I'd advise a read on some of those pages. My reason for posting those quotes was to give you an idea on why we (sasusaku) fans--and not just me -- believe in the pairing.

Well, let me tell you my debate against SasuSaku, i mo g e n: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=6433077^Argue all you want, but SasuSaku was just as canon as NaruSaku at the beginning of the manga, Sakura just showed her part more.  Let's see... What is a love triangle again? (I'll argue against NaruSaku too later) Honestly, I don't like either NaruSaku or SasuSaku (nor SasuNaru/NaruSasu if you want to throw that in too). I really don't think Kishimoto is going to throw away the equal friendship between Team7 to stick romance in there, because guess what? NARUTO as a shonen manga revolves around friendship. Not to forget my only too obviously seen seesaw theory would deem it unfair because a romantic relationship would exclude one member, be it SasuSaku, NaruSaku or SasuNaru. BTW: Out of the pairings Candy Quackenbush mentioned, I only like NaruHina, I hate all the rest. rofl

As I said before, this isn't to say not everyone has their reasons, but it is a recurring 'they're mainstream and fit together nicely' theme in the Naruto fan world. ShikaInoNow lets analyze. Out of the seven people who posted their pairing lists on that page, FIVE mentioned those four couples in the 'love' section. Of the two that didn't mention the four pairings in the 'love' section, neither of them 'hated' any of them. Yeah I got this from OMGZ!!11! Link! while surfing out the enemy's territory ( xd ), but if I looked in any other Naruto-type guild I'm sure I'd find the same results. My point is this is why *most* people reject NaruSaku, not because of actual events/foreshadowing in the show.

I'm the type to throw mainstream - not canon - down the drain. I don't give much of a s**t what seems to be the most blunt thing, I choose my pairings because I believe their personalities go well together, not because of what seems to be most obvious.

That's funny, because I hate every single one of those pairings. I am utterly against NaruHina, Naruto thinks of her nothing more than a friend. I hate SasuSaku, because Sasuke could really care less about Sakura's affection. NejiTen annoys me before Neji's too much of a character for someone like Tenten, who's basically put to be a side character (I prefer LeeTen, if LeeSaku doesn't happen). ShikaIno is VERY hated for me, I much prefer ShikaTema, which is good for me to say, their personalities match well. Smart a** (Temari, obviously, the cocky one) and the lazy a**. It's so cute! 3nodding NaruHina and SasuSaku just annoy the s**t outta me...I much rather prefer the SasuHina crack pairing...which won't happen. So I leave Sasuke ALL ALONE TO DIE! I'm done ranting now. ^-^

i m o g e n! Because of my partial short-term memory and my inablity to remember what happened, I'll say you won for now in the NaruSaku parts. xD
But to SasuSaku, in volumes 34 and 35 (Ah, sorry for not having the exact chapters. I used to remember what they were but I haven't really debated against SasuSaku in a while. xD) Sasuke pretty much COMPLETELY IGNORES Sakura. That's probably what completely killed it for me.
Then again, the biggest thing of all is that...we don't know if Sakura likes anyone. As far as we know, she stopped loving Sasuke (romantic-wise) and hasn't developed any other feelings. True, it would seem like a waste liking Sasuke THAT much for it to all go down the drain. But, it's sorta the same thing with LeeSaku (xD Candy's gonna get me for that, I know it.). Lee doesn't like Sakura anymore...at least, from what it's shown.
P.S. For more about my reasons...actaully, just talk to Reyairia. I pretty much agree with her on everything. xD

Anyway, what killed SasuSaku for me wasn't that it was unrequited, but that she was always insulting Naruto and going "heartz" at Sasuke, who always rubbed me the wrong way. Dx
I don't hate Sasuke, but I never really liked how he always got the best parts making Naruto seem like an idiot (which he was, but still), if it became canon I'd pretty much abandon NARUTO as a lost cause. Dx

Alright, so I don't think that anybody from Team 7 will end up together at all, but that's just my opinion. The reason I'm thinking that is because of the three Sanin: Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru. Since Team 7 is essentially the "heirs" to the Sanin, there's no way. None of them ended up together. On another note, Sasuke is totally out of the loop as far as love is concerned. All that's on his mind is revenge. Naruto is too obsessed with becoming Hokage and dealing with Kyuubi to do much, and he's too loyal to Sasuke to try to move in on Sakura knowing how she feels about him (confusing, yes). Anyways, Sakura might have outgrown her initial feelings for Sasuke and developed a more "deep friendship" type of affection. I mean, if Naruto was hurt, wouldn't she care about him like she would for Sasuke? I dunno. Please explain if you think I've erred in some way in my thought process.

Sasuke has strong feelings for Naruto, Naruto has strong feelings for Sakura and Sakura has strong feelings for Sasuke.
I really can't see any Team7 pairing happen unless you kill one of them off. It would create an unbalance. confused
