so im in guard and i hit a band guy. i felt so horrible but it was either him or this really cute little girl. ppl should really learn to get the hell out of the way of flying flags!! but ya him and i are now great friends so it all worked out for the best, and i didnt hit him that hard either. well not enough to mess up his music!! stressed

yes i have twice, both times leaving a nice ding on my trombone, and i got ran over by a colorguard person once.

Nope, I was never hit by a flag but I think I am going to this year. I feel my self to be way too close to one guard girl while I'm in a halt.

I haven't hit anybody in a show yet (knock on wood). I have hit myself on numerous occasions, and while we were standing still going over work I've hit a few of my fellow guard members. But I get kind of nervous because I'm super close to the trombones during one song and I have to spin my flag near them and I always think it's going to hit one of them. I try to move over faster, but I don't wand to get hit by my guard friend who is on the other side of me.
Still, I almost hit this one girl because she wasn't in her spot, luckily she moved or I would have hit her. I've also almost hit this helper guy because I was moving and he was in my spot. But they've told us time and time again, "If you're right and someone else is wrong, just hit them. They'll never be wrong again." We've even been told to hit judges. I don't think I would hit a judge, though. Luckily none have never gotten in my way.

No, but there's this part in the show where one of the other mellophones is supposed to be really really close behind me and all the time he accidentally hits me in the head with his bell ;_; it's kind of funny though x3

Frozen_Tears_Frozen_Fears I was!! My dad had already been bad because my thing that holds my music broke and then that happened!! @.@ I was marching into my line in the came and the twirler that was ahead of me came back to far stopped and threw her damned flag out behind her way to far, hit my clarinet and cut my tongue open!!!! crying I couldnt play for the rest of the came because she als made me break my reed. But the thing that really makes me mad is she never even apologized!!! what a b***h!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing that broke that holds music is called a liar, and in our song that we march to the flags have to run threw the tubas and there more likely to get hit than i am xD

Heh...I've never hit the band, even though we've been instructed to not worry about it and hit them if they're in our way, because...they shouldn't be. Well, I haven't hit them with a flag, anyway.
I kinda poked a couple with a parasol, and hit one guy's shoulder a few times, but I can't help it...
Plus I've hurt myself much more than anyone else.

I don't march...but we are making the flags change their routine because they have a flag change right behind us and we wont have room at concert for them to do it anyways....HAHA CG!!!! sorry, am really having problems with them.

Well i have to go all the way to the bold G and that means i have to go through the whole gard talk about scarry darn them evil flags well while i was going to my spot this flag girl hit my flute which hit my teeth which almots chiped one and ahhhhhh and then in a different part in the show im going to the spot im in in that pic and i had my arms holding my flute up and the flag wiped me and left a red mark for the rest of the day

Yeah, she should ahve apologized. I feel terrible if I barely tap someone with my pole. And I make sure someone's okay if they're hit by another guard member.
In her defense though, people tend to forget that we guardies don't have eyes in the backs of our heads, so we can't see behind us.
(Sorry... one of my pet peeves are those band kids that screech "DON'T HIT ME" when they're walking towards me from the back. While we do have the magical power to spin flag, we don't have the magical power of seeing behind us.)

My freshmen year in high school, I marched in front of the trombones...every practice for three weeks straight I got knocked in the back of the head with a different slide each time.
During another show, our colorguard had the use of those just wonderfully amazing long a** ribbon things...and I got whipped a couple times with those.

i was marching once and i almost got hit by a flag but then later everyone got revenge by steping on the flags. whee whee ninja ninja

During another show, our colorguard had the use of those just wonderfully amazing long a** ribbon things...and I got whipped a couple times with those. yeh, i'm having a problem with trombones too. one freshman that i have to pass in front of, of course has his bell down and isnt paying attention to whats in front of him. hes staring at the ground for his chalk mark, and hits me in the freakin ribs. there was no bruising, but now it sorta hurts to do slides.
