Talk about getting hit with a flag, try a tuba! I was in color guard my 8th grade year and The tuba backed into me, and I couldn't move to get out of the way...we were in a small box form, and I fell and ed my tail bone, I couldn't sit forever, and Ironically enough, in 9th grade, I switched to tuba...lol. When I was in guard, I hit many people including guard members, but It wasn't my fault. I was going backwards and I can't see behind me. lol. A few days ago in band camp, There was really band wind, and tuba bells are like sails. I and a small , 5' 1.5", and the wind knocked me back, sousaphone on and all, and I landed on my tailbone again, it hurt, and I had issues marching for the rest of the day, AND my band director didn't ask if I was ok, he yelled at me for slightly denting Betty, my sousaphone. >.> I don't like him much!

I was hit by a flying guard girl! Well, not flying, but you get what I mean. And in the opener, one of the rifle girls spins around me and I'm always afraid she's going to crash into me. She never does, but it makes me nervous every time.
Oh, and once a friend in guard poked me with her rifle. XD I poked her back...with my flute.

atrully I wasnt I more ran into the colorguard. But I play bassdrum and its so big I cant see in front of me. I had to run past a flag girl and when she was twirling her flag and she almost hit me in my manhood area. The only reason why she didnt was because my leg stopped it

Yes, mutlipule times in multiple shows. Frehsman year first time was in the ballad my line had to conect to the mellos and in order for that to happen I had to go inbetween a hole that was never in the same place twice, it was like a 10 step hold that appeared after the flutes passed and then the guard followed with the flags. More than once I was hit cause ither the flutes or I was too slow. Then in the closer when we did three company fronts the guard ran through the ranks with these huge flags on bendy poles and one ran past me and each time without fail, WHACK to the head, my poor reeds. The next year all I had was close encounters with rifles, now those are scary...Then last year it was only once the guard ran through the clarinets at our normal 4 step intervels twriling flags. I thought I was safe when she was suppose to run behind the person behind me but she was freshman and confused so she ran behind a differnet person each time. Lets say she got me front and back at least twice.

Certainly.
My junior year, we had a set where the guard was supposed to go through us and the woodwinds were supposed to backstep into a diagonal. Needless to say at least two or three of us would get knocked out every time because we obviously can't see where they are and guard at our school were too thick-headed to think to adjust their step for a moment so they don't crash into us.
My sophomore year we were messing around with rifles before band practice. One of my friends did a triple, expecting me to catch it. We'll leave it at the rifle landed straight on my head.
Now, I just get mauled by tubas in the instrument room since they can't see me through their bells.

Not on purpose though, and he always apologizes. I feel bad for you.
