I think Rand was a little bigamist. I mean, he had someone he loved and slept with two other people! I REALLY don't get that and I thought it cheapened his character.

But that's the point... He LOVED all three of them. Like his ancestors.

I don't get it. How can you love three wives equally? You can't. And they're always going to be jealous of each other. That's just the way life actually works. I hated how bigamy was portrayed as this awesome way of life with no drawbacks or consequences.

It wasn't though. It was simply portrayed as an alternate lifestyle that some few could embrace. Rand himself couldn't understand it, and the other were jealous of each other but they all loved Rand enough to get over it. (And don't get me wrong, I KNOW that there's no way I could embrace that lifestyle.... but not everyone's emotions can be measured equally. People are different. That's all. Muslims do it... Mormans did... I'm sure there have been dozens if not hundereds of groups throughout history that have.... even the "free-love" of the 60's is comparable.... I may not agree with it, but I do try to keep an open mind.)

I've read the first 2 Wheel of Time books, they were alright, nothing to really get excited about. Limyaael
Hates Robert Jordan and the Wheel of Time series, or at least criticizes them a lot of the time in her rants. Since the first two weren't so amazing, and the fact that a lot of people seem to think he is a hack, I haven't really gotten around to reading the rest. I might at some point, I've got a huge list of different books and such I need to read though. sweatdrop

EDIT: Just for kicks, I looked the series up on Wikipedia. Realized that the first book was split into two separate parts, which I have read. So I've only really read the first book: The Eye of The World.

I've been thinking about it, Muse, and, firstly, I don't even want one woman, much less three. *shiver* Secondly, yeah, it may not be possible to love three different people equally, if you are counting love in the same way. As Hobb says (paraphrasing) "Don't count another man's hay by your bushel".

But I wonder, then, if it is possible to love three different people romantically, in three completely different ways.... Certainly I have felt different feelings for each of the "Lovers" that I've written about. They all make me feel different.

So I can't really say anything here, except that this has piqued my interest, and therefore, shall be explored.

Love and Vale,

I finally got the first book. The guy I'm dating bought it for me (not my one boyfriend some of you know about, but a different guy. I broke up with that boyfriend. This new guy isn't my boyfriend.... yet). I nerded out when he bought me a book. It was nerdy sexy. I haven't started it yet, but I shalt soon...

And it better be good or I'm yelling at all you people who said it was!

I think that the Wheel of Time series, even though I've only read up to... six, i think? Well, it's awsome. My favorite character would have to be Perrin, but he doesn't have a lot of common sense. Just a lot of pure emotion and passion towards Faile.
