well, i don't think the topic owner meant that all things are evil in and of themselves.. she was only making a general caution... because it can happen. she wasn't saying ti was the case for everyone.

Exactly. I can understand how some are confused though. There are things that you don't understand earlier in your walk. Something you just have to learn from experience.

Here's what I had to trash so far:
My Ryoko dolls, simply because Ryoko means demon caller

My big Rei statue(that costed almost $100 crying ) small Rei figure and Asuka resin statue because Evangelion is blasphemous.

My Kero plush, Book of Clow and Cardcaptor manga because In Greek mythology, Cerberus, or Kerberos, is a three-headed dog with a serpent or dragon tail, which guards the entrance to the Underworld. eek

All of my SailorMoon posters for personal reasons.

My Yu Yu Hakusho stuff because the anime is modeled after the Japanese afterlife.

I don't know if I have to get rid of eveything related to each series yet like my Tenchi figure and Ken-oki plush. I hope not..I love my Ken-oki! heart sweatdrop I guess I'll find out.

I have Ryo-ohki doll, but I will be glad to take Ryoko and the Evas. I will take some of the salior moon items, the ones with Mercury. She is my favorite character from the series.

I do know some one that might want the card captors. I just never got into it. I think it had to do with the sub and dubs are on seprate disc and I did not want to buy two DVDs.

I hate when you go to read your bible and then you fall asleep! It's the most annoying thing ever. I guess that's why ppl say when you can't sleep read your bible. sweatdrop (or read the first chapter of the Scarlet Letter about the door. xd )

yeah... but, i think the reason for that is when you are reading teh word of god... it gives you peace in your soul and your subconscious.... and thus.. you fall asleep because you have been relieved of your burdens that were wearing you out... I myself for a while had a tendency to read a little bit before i'd go to bed and tuck it under my pillow. and sometimes, if my dreams get weird, i also go get my bible and tuck it under my pillow. Not that the paper and pages themselves would ward things off... but.. that knowing the word of God can protect us...

hmm.. i've been watching evangelion... i haven't finished it.. i'm only on the episode where they start to reveal the truth behind rei... i have noted tho.. how some of what i see in it seems to me what might be post-apocolyptic.. i mean... the "third impact".. maybe like unto a third advent? which would be like the rapture? and.. not sure if any of you know this.. but they do show a symbol during the opening screen which i forget the name of it.. but it's known as the "tree of life" within the kaballah religion which is a religion who's entire existance is to oppose christianity and teh bible.

but, at one point, they show "an angel" pinned up on a cross.... in the basement.. i believe this notion could be taken from some beliefs among other non christian religions and a few maybe christian [tho not many cuz very few that will accept this] that Jesus did die for everyone; but he didn't rise again and ascend to heaven; that he stayed dead. some believe he did resurrect but went off to have a family with mary magdelene... however, both of those accounts are not supported by the bible.

Eva is base on mutlible things from around the mid east. Most names are based on the bible and some are based on the dead sea scrolls. Now the cross that is used is a Roman cross and was widely use. We Christian can't realy claim it to stand only for Christ. It has been a while sense I watch all 26 eps plus one of the movies. I wanted to tell Shinji in the ep where he was asking why angels where attacking us and that he Taught they were from God. I want to tel him about the fallen angels and that those creature were not real angels. The angel on the cross you will find out is call Lilith.

No all these makes up for a great story to entertain and that is just it. Do not take this seires as being bibcally true, for one God said He'll never distroy the Earth agian by flood. Now there may be some turth within this anime series but if I want truth, I go to the bible. Many movies and anime have bibcal based things in them. End Days is one move, Patlobor the first animated movie has some in it to. I was surprise that some one knew the original Hebrew name of our Father and that told it in Patlabor.

Eva is much like everthing else being named after something. Our little character are call avaters. That word means a child of a hindu god/goddess and human. The name of this site is Gaia, after the greek myths as the spirit of the Earth that mated with the spirit of the sky to form life.

Moday means Moonday which in some language like spanish, is still called moonday. Ester is a pegan festivale that uses rabbits and eggs as a sign for sexual orgies. That there is makes our Father mad that we celebrate His son's resurection with pegan items.

We can go thruogh and find many meanings even behind nusry rims. Ring around the Roses is about a sickness the killed people. Peter pumpkin eater is about man who killed his wife and possilbe ate her. Jack and Jill is about them killing their selves.

We can find a lot of weird things that we as awhole have accepted. Take the care Nova. It will not sell in latin counrties becuase Nova there means "no go." Here Nova means "a dieing star".

yeah... i guess we have to expect some misrepresentation of bibilical information when used by people who aren't christians or really know the word of God at all..

however, I'd like to point towards FF7. one of my favorite games.. and there are A LOT of references to christianity.. half of the weapon names, finishing move names, etc were names like that. i mean.. aeris's final limit break was called the great gospel.. and when used called down the angels from heaven. an interesting thing tho.. they did do something that a lot of people don't realize as planting faith in it. not sure if anyone realizes this ... but when you do the little scavenger hunt with the papers to get the numbers to comb on the safe in the shinra mansion... there is a paper in teh house with clues to get the numbers of each part.. and there are 4 numbers you need to open the safe.. but when you look at the note in the game, there are only three lines... so then, what is faith? the substance of things hoped for..and evidence of things nto seen. so, you hoped for one more clue.. but you don't see another one. but if you went down to where it would be and clicked anyways.. there it was... that to me tells me whoever designed that little thing knew a thing or two about how faith works...

Interesting. People have always told me Tolkein was a Christian - and not just because their idealistic - my dad, for instance, knows quite a bit about Tolkein, and I'm pretty sure he thinks he was Christian... he hasn't told me otherwise, anyways.

Another game with christianty in is Xenosaga, episode 1 & 2. There were 13 locks that protect some dangerous items from the wrong hands. 12 where named after the 12 fallower of Jesus and the center one was title "The child of Mary." There was a large weapong of distructuion in the game called the "Song of Nephilim." There are some other thing but I have not played episode 1 in a while and been playing episode 2 off and on when I get a chance.

Yea, but the annoying part I meant is when you say you're going to read and before you even get started you go to sleep. It's another trick of the enemy. I remember at one time in youth council we were all doing it and our leader said that was the season we were in. We had to really press to get anything done. When you've been having weird dreams your supposed to pray for God to protect the recesses of your mind because usually that's the first place satan gets to you with.

I remember I had a short period in my life where I thought I was bi. When it was over with I realized that I had been dreaming I had girlfriends or was having illicit affairs with girls! gonk That's crazy, and I never realized it was going on until God brought it back to my rememberance.

I don't know anything about evangelion but I read a pretty detailed review and it plainly said that the series is blaspemous "strong Christian's shouldn't watch it." You also have to be careful of things like that. Just like you said you were confused about what exactly was going on, it could mix you up and have you believing something preposterous. That's why I don't subject myself to that sort of thing. Even if you know it isn't right it could give satan room to come in and mess with your mind.

I've noticed that too. All of the religious parodies I mean. It's like people can't find a more interesting subject to play with. Although how much more interesting and conversation worthy can you get than religion? Easter is silly, but at least most of us do look at the holiday for the right reason.

I was suprised to learn that ring around the Rosey was about th bubonic plague. Most of our nursery rhymes and fairytales are about not so nice things that they've turned kid-friendly. I believe even the "Little Mermaid" was somewhat of a horror story.

FF7? Hmm..I guess since I didn't actually play through it myself( I watched my brother do it when we were like 14) I missed it all. That's pretty kewl though.

Xenosaga is like that too. I wish they'd hurry up and make the next game. There are biblical verse strewn about not to mention the girl that's kind of leading the team, Nephlihim who knows chaos somehow and it seems that he's an angel since one of his moves is even called Seraphim Thrust and another Demon Hunter I believe. Then there's the...hmm..I can't believe I just forgot what I was saying..I'm tired so I'll rehash on that later. sweatdrop

I love both of those games, I beat them both, I can't wait for III to come out. Make sure that you do a lot of levelling up before you get really far in Xenosaga II. Use the place where you are just Shion to do most of it.

O, believe me, those spirits would not have stayed here long. At one time I had a set of tarot cards and everyone knows you don't trough them away unless you want something bad to happen to you. Well, I throught them away and nothing bad every happen. Why do some ask. Becuase great is He that is in me then he that is in the world. Jesus lives inside me and like all His children, He has given us the power to cast out demons. Now some are not as easy as others and require fasting and praying. Still I have power over the evil spirits through Jesus the Christ. They don't like messing with me becuase I enjoy using the sword of the word of the living God.

True many do look a Passover for the right reason but how many churches you know do Easter Egg hunts and have little easter thing for the children on Sunday. Last I check, God killed people for bring in pegan items into His house. They only reason I don't see Him doing it now is becuase many do not know it is pegan.

Going back to the nursey rhymes, my dad and I think "Mary had a Little Lamb" is about Jesus. Take time to think about the words.

Now if you realy want to get people stured up, tell them the ET was based off of Jesus. If any of you ever watched the movie, you can see how ET life was simular to Jesus.
