People around here are stupid. I always have to spell it out for them, or even write it down >.>
Anyway, I asked my Japanese friend, and she told me it's 'soo ee koh den'. Obviously there's the emphasis on the certain syllables there, but I won't bother with it. Making the 'soo ee' into 'swee' is fairly close, so I think people can get away with that one too.
For a while, I called it "soo koi den" >.< I wasn't use to saying it, haha.

I've always pronounced it Swee-Ko-Den, ever since the first day I picked up the game. But I've always had a knack for pronounciation, and spelling, even though I suck at typing razz
What's this about a Suikoden anime?

X-DrAgOnKnIgHt_Futch Nicholai Maxwell Swee-KO-den is how I say it. Don't know how anyone else does. 3nodding And that is the correct way of saying it, because Japanese is really easy to figure out how to pronounce once you know it (no silent letters like the English although it has a few rules you should know). sweatdrop Although I KNOW the correct way of saying it, I say it... a bit differently, due to my friend. I say it as "Suh-ko-den" >___<. Yes yes, but all should know take my example, and should keep it as Swee (like a merge version of SOO-EE). suh-ko-den is the way my friend said it, i say sui-kee-den.

I have always said swee-koh-den, but my mom sometimes calls it su-ee-kah-den, which I like too.
Anyone know what it means?

Hmm... According to my dictionary, Gensou means "illusion," and Suikoden means "The Water Margin," so if you put them together.... "Illusion of the Water Margin..."

I don't know about an anime....but I know the manga is out right now. Takes place in III, so it's got whatever characters are in III (haven't played it so I don't know ^^; )

The National Spelling Bee and intense study of phonetics and such has served me well. Mwahaha. Anyway, thanks for confirming that, Futch, or whatever you want to be called. Aish, no problem, and what you called me was fine. >> So you're saying, at first glance, you already knew how to pronounce it right? I'm impressed. Umm, after ages, I reply, and say yes, I did. I have always loved pronunciation and words, and just made an educated guess as to how it was pronounced. I had very little knowledge of Japanese when I first saw Suikoden.
