Nicholai Maxwell Swee-KO-den is how I say it. Don't know how anyone else does. 3nodding And that is the correct way of saying it, because Japanese is really easy to figure out how to pronounce once you know it (no silent letters like the English although it has a few rules you should know). sweatdrop Although I KNOW the correct way of saying it, I say it... a bit differently, due to my friend. I say it as "Suh-ko-den" >___<. Yes yes, but all should know take my example, and should keep it as Swee (like a merge version of SOO-EE).

The National Spelling Bee and intense study of phonetics and such has served me well. Mwahaha. Anyway, thanks for confirming that, Futch, or whatever you want to be called.

Aish, no problem, and what you called me was fine. >> So you're saying, at first glance, you already knew how to pronounce it right? I'm impressed.

the word *suikoden* is split in three parts (its on the game box *gen *sou *sui *ko *den) therefore it is pronounced as SUI-ko-den.
the middle character stands for water (sui and umi both mean water). unlike in tradditional japanese where every vowel sounds is pronounced (like love being ai (ah-e)), sui is blended together, therefore making is sui-ko-den

Once you learn how to read the romanji, it's fairly simple. Oo;
I mean, "sui" (even though it's one character), with the.. futakana or something >_<... the hiragana at the side which tells you how to pronounce sometimes, it'll show as "su" and "i".
す + い = 水 (su) (i)
And the 'i' sounds like EE. >_>... ANYWAYS, I don't know why I went through all that. Most should figure it out without me being an idiot posting about it.

Swee-ko-den, I'm fairly certain thats the correct way since its the way they pronouce it in on the movie. (anime movie) Speaking of which has anyone seen that? There was a flyer for it in the European version of Suikoden 1, not sure about elsewhere.
