Like the above said, use a towel. Color hair sprays will not go on just your hair but your skin and clothes as well, but fortunately, it washes out. It is really sticky and it's best to style it first and spray on the top layer. It's impossible to brush after spraying. At least the ones I've used.

SiuHai You definately have to bleach your hair first before any dying. It's a pain every Asian, Native, or Pacific Islander has to go through for different hair color. However, for cosplay, you could also just use wigs instead of dying your own hair.well i want blue hair or something, but i have gym before and now its slowly getting a bit brwon minaly in teh front areas.... shoudl i jsut dye it if it gets brown enough?

I'm thinking about making my hair super-dark (almost black color of brown) for a character I'm doing. My hair is the right length and texture, but it's dirty blonde. I definitely don't want to use a wig or permanent color. My mother says that semi-permanent color will make my hair not look it's original color even when it washes out, and that temporary color won't make it dark enough. Also, those spray can kinds seem to feel crusty, not cover well, and keep the hair from falling naturally (like hairspray does). What should I do?
