Silverah gives the strange girl a "WTF" look and ushers Nereida and Darsais out of the lab.

Yvette picked up her basket again and ran over to silverah, "Hi silverah, what up with you. I'm trying to see when i can get peaseblossom to grow up and such. She's awsome as a chip, but i want her to start enjoying the room i made for her. ^.^ i'm really happy i moved here, but i'm still setting up my own room."

Silverah shrugs. "That's up to the Doc," she answers. "I'm just dragging the girls on some errands. I'm not sure that they're enjoying it much, though."

"We're not," Nereida and Darsais chime in unison.

"See? What'd I tell you?"

Darsais tugs on Silverah's scarf. "Can we go home now?"

"Just a little longer. Why don't you play with Peaseblossom?"

"She's a chip, mom."

Yvette smiled taking the chip that had a new toga/ dress thing on this one had an old foral design to it and lace around the edges, "but she's has such a cute dress, i made it myself ^.^. I play ping pong with her, why don't you all try it." Yvette gave them the chip happily but a bit reluctantly scared they might break her she looked at silverah grinning still, "You are raising them so nicely, i think you are the best mummy ever. We should set up play dates for them. I'm almost all the way moved into my house maybe they can all get together and have a nice tea party. What kind of errands are you running?"

"I'm picking up some stuff for them. I'm leaving in a few days and they need their bags packed for when they go stay at the headquarters for their projects." She eyes the chip suspiciously. "I'm not sure I even want to know how you play ping-pong with her."

Yvette grinned, "It's really east i put up half the table so it's ment for one person you know, and then i put her on the back of the paddle and play ping pong with myself, I talked to her alot. I can't wait till she grows up. Where are you going?"

"Me? I'm headed into town. I'll see you around, okay? Good luck with Peaseblossom." Silverah takes Darsais and Nereida by the hands and drags them out of the lab after her.

RP 7 - In which boredom is discovered to be a dangerous thing

Darsais leaned back against the side of the bed and replayed the message again. I have terrible jet lag and will be napping. Nereida's in her room. Try not to get into trouble. Well here was something interesting. Mom hadn't specified what exactly trouble was, and she hadn't exactly left Darsais with any idea of what "trouble" qualified as and hoped the obedience circuits could handle the rest.

Which was, in all likelyhood, not going to happen. Darsais stared at the bookcase in front of her - Mom had helped her with reading yesterday and now she got it. But she'd already read all those books. There were three adventures about a boy and his pet dragon, meant to be read in sequence, six progressively darker novels about a boy with magic powers, one novel about a boy who found out he was actually a prince of a lost country, and one about a boy who could speak to fish.

Darsais would have prefered a book about a girl.

She stood up and looked around the room. It seemed fairly roomy. Roomy enough to dance without destroying anything, at least. She kicked off her boots and pointed her toes, extending a leg out in front of her. Skip, leap, land, repeat. She crossed the room in three repetitions and frowned down at her legs. She'd been doing it for days and it hadn't gotten any easier. In fact, she felt some sort of strain each time she tried to extend it further.

She sat down again and stared at the potted plant at the end of the bed. No, no fun could be had with that.

It looked like she'd stay bored for now.

Bummer.

Yesterday was pretty cool. Mom finally took us to GambinoBurger. It wasn't as good as I thought it'd be, but it was ok. We ran into her friend Ronnie and Ronnies' kids. She's got two from Nereida's project, and I made a new friend! Dierdre! She's a fae, not a kybernetik, but she likes to dance. We're gonna take ballet together when I grow.

Oh! Even more exciting news! Ronnie and Dierdre and her brothers are moving in to the building near us! Gage is friends with Nereida, and the other one's just a chip, but I'm sure we'll be friends when he grows, which should be soon I think.

I asked mom when I'm gonna grow and she said not for another few weeks, which kind of makes me sad because I was really looking forward to getting my new legs and long hair, but also kinda happy because I have time to make more friends.

Maybe Dierdre will come over once they move in. I can't wait to show her my room.

I hate being little. And everyone is always telling me, "Don't worry about it. It's only temporary. You're young. It's OK to be little."

Well, it's not ok with me! Everyone is taller than me, and no one ever pays attention to anything I say. No one ever pays attention to me!

And it's not like everyone is like this. Kluster wasn't as little as me, and Peaseblossom's not at little as me, and Alia's not as little as me, and I haven't seen Jack since he was littler than me (but he was a chip then, so that's normal,) but I'm sure he's bigger than I am. He has to be. I'm a shrimp!

Little little Darsais. I'm gonna be little forever. I just know it.

And even if I'm not gonna, it feels that way!

RP 12 - Define "Trouble"

Growth Dream

I remember it being dark at first, almost like being a little chip again, just hearing stuff. And I did hear stuff. Murmurs, laughs, and then...

There was the sound of an orchaestra starting up. Violins, flutes, pianos, clarinets, trumpets.

And then there was light. It made long shadows all around me on the floor. I was wearing a dancer's costume - toe shoes, a sparkly purple tafetta tutu, a tight purple leotard. And I was big.

The music began, and all I could do was dance. I danced and danced and danced. I couldn't stop. I whirled and spun and jumped and sashayed as the music got louder and louder. But there were wires everywhere, suddenly. They were hanging from my neck and my arms and my legs, and I was pulling on them, and getting them tangled.

No, they weren't wires. Suddenly they were wings, and they'd take me to dance in the air. I'd jump higher with them. I was surrounded by stars, and the wings kept taking be higher and higher.

And then the music stopped, and I was back on stage, slowing down. The violins came back in, and just off stage I knew there was someone waiting.

And then, I felt like someone was calling from the other direction, and I turned around to see who, and they pulled me away so I woke up.

I wish I knew who was waiting for me.

I've been practicing dancing on my own since I grew, and these legs really are something special. I haven't taken lessons yet, though. I haven't seen Dierdre in a while, and it might be because Ner and Gage are still "fighting". I haven't seen Jack, either. I miss him. He was kinda cool.

It's been getting colder and colder, so Ner and I can't take out boat out anymore. Last week we had to pull it off the beach into storage under the boardwalk or the winter storms would carry it off. Now it's raining icy cold, but Ner and I lit a fire here inside, so we're nice and warm.

Mom's around. She's cooking - insisting we celebrate this Earth holiday called Thanksgiving.

Whatever that is.
