The river's edge should have been too dangerous for a lone pup, and had she known better Izulu'umdansi likely would have stayed far away from the area. She didn't know, however, and she was thirsty. Without the slightest thought to the mud at the waters edge, she stepped into it and giggled at the squish beneath her paws. Mud was impossibly fun, and the hyena couldn't help a few bounces about the shore line in the stuff. When that energy had been mostly expended, the pup lowered her muzzle to the muddy water and drank from it without a second's thought.

It seemed an extraordinary amount of luck favored the pup, for the crocodiles, though they were there, were either full or not paying attention to what would have been a small meal indeed for one of their bulk. The pup played with the mud a little more, before she trotted off into the jungle again. Her stomach rumbled, but she paid it little mind.. after all, she was always hungry. In the end, it had become just something Izulu had to ignore if she was going to live life with any idea of happiness. Besides, that complaint had been there so often she thought it was normal by now.

Still, to ease its grumblings she caught herself a few large bugs. That being the basis of her diet in general, among the very little she could steal from some of the smaller scavangers about. Even that wasn't too easy. Regardless of her relatively hard life, the pup still managed to be strangely "rainbows and butterflies" most of the time.

Even now, as she chased down a butterfly that looked like it would taste like sunlight, Izulu sang a merry little song of nonsense, wherein an occassional word was understandable, usually an object in nature, but most of it was simple gibberish.

Chocolate tipped feet tapped over the ground as Paki fidgited with the mud that squished between them. He could tell he was near water, though what kind he wasn't quite sure, his silvery eyes shimmered, though they couldn't see a thing. Ears pricked forward and he walked quickly now, though before he had walked so slowly that it was a little confusing and painful to watch.

A song caught one of his chocolate ears and the cub lifted it, turning his head so that he could hear it more. It wasn't a voice tha the'd heard before, but then he'd never met everone in his pride yet, so doubtless this was one of them.

Trotting off in that direction, the vanilla cub made sure that he made as much noise as he possibly could. Paki knew that suprising people wasn't fun, he didn't like it when it happened to him, so why should others like it?

..//Dealing With the Trauma

Kisoni
Soft growls punctuated her heavy steps in the dry grass. Kizuka had taken up watch by the tree she'd last seen Ushuafu sitting under, but the male had yet to return. Deep in her heart she knew the truth; Ush was gone. A deeper growl forced the troublesome thought away, and Kizuka returned her attention to scanning the horizon as she paced restlessly. Even in the heat of the day she's worn out a track beneath the brittling limbs and dying leaves that was likely visible from the sky. A part of her wondered if Varg would be about, even as she knew she couldn't trust the bird to consider her right to know what was goin on.

Eventually the heat and exhaustion of her sore muscle and bone forced her back against the whisp of shade offered near the base of the tree. Her side heaved a little, focusing on the spot near the horizon that she'd guessed Ushuafu to have gone due to lingering scents. Her brooding chocolate eyes darkened further, and one ear twitched irritably to rid herself of a pesky fly.

Really, all Kizuka wanted was to know why he'd left. Ever since he'd been foiled in his first attempt to run away, Ushuafu had seemed happy here. He'd never said as much, but it had appeared to be written in the way he laughed with them, spoke with them, hunted with them and slept beside them. He'd never made a second attempt to leave them, and even when Truth had surprised the both of him it'd just seemed to offer further proof that he was happy.

Something Truth had said came ringing back into Kizuka's ears and she sighed. She wasn't so sure what to make of that, and the truth of the matter seemed that she herself had chased Ushaufu away. What had she been thinking, flirting with him like that?! A growl left her throat, feral as a wild cat's scream, and kizuka lifted her head and shoulders to begin bathing her arms and paws with such feurocity she was sure to scrape the fur from her skin.

The day was drawing to a close, but the heat was still impossible. Even so, Kizuka knew she should be hunting. Kimaji had taken down a stupid bird earlier, so she knew the cub was likely sated for now though a bird was no dinner. The lioness herself knew her body would be hungry, but the rest of her didn't wish to eat. That was no way to live, Kizuka's practicality knew this, yet she couldn't force herself up. In truth, she didn't really care right now.

The heat was insufferable, even further more than most places he'd been in, and it was annoying the hyena horribly; he knew well enough that nor he, nor Rah would stay within this land for long, however the need to explore was too great for him to ignore. The cover of the trees that the drying jungle had to offer had lured Oth inside; he figured that after the sun had gone down, he'd meet up with Rah again and both would leave for better lands. There was no hunt here, and the scents that lingered the place told him that it had long been abandoned.

Nothing amusing was ever to happen here, now was it? Thus so, why should he or Rah stay here?

A second breath however, told him a different story, for he'd suddenly picked up a scent he knew all too well. Frowning, the hyena pressed his nose to the ground, a canine gesture he was able to pull off with grace, even despite the odd structure of his neck and body; Lioness? Here?

Both grey ears seemed to perk as the male arched a brow, his muzzle opening to allow his tongue to loll slightly over his large teeth. Why would there be a lioness here? Hadn't the herds moved on? He'd not even seen one on his way here, and though both he and Rah had separated from each other briefly in hopes of finding some scraps, both lion and hyena had been quite sure upon departing that they'd find nothing.

Yet... here was this scent.

Shrugging slightly, a gesture he performed all-too-well, the hyena decided that what the hell, he had nothing else better to do, as food was simply something he was not going to find within this dieing land. Curiosity spurred his actions, and the canine trotted friskily through the foliage till warning growls forced him to slow his step; after remaining hidden for several moment, observing the chocolate colored female, he came to the conclusion that these growls had in fact, nothing to do with him, but rather with something that was quite obviously eating at her. A few more seconds passed, then, with the flick of his bushy black tail, the hyena stepped into the light, one brow arched, tongue still lolling comically, "Now, now, love, what's all this growling for? Could hear yeh a mile away! If yer lookin' tah hunt, yer not gonna surprise any prey like that, now are yeh?"

Amusingly enough (or perhaps disturbingly enough for Kizuka), the male seemed quite un-preocupied by the fact she was a lioness; in fact, he was treating her almost like a peer, as if he were quite used to lions. Even the way he moved seemed to hold a slightly more graceful air than that which hyenas usually carried themselves, "Come, come, yeh should not be sitting around... yeh should be moving on, now shouldn't you?" his words were meant to mean that she should be looking for new land, to feed herself, however.... taking in Kizuka's current situation, she could've taken the words in another way altogether. Othieno was no mind reader, though he had indeed noticed something was bothering her deeply, "And what exactly's eattin' yah, anyhow? It's obviously not the heat, 'cuz not even the heat can put someone in such a foul mood!" sitting down, he regarded her, looking somewhere between amused and concerned.

The jungle was surely a fun place to be, especially for a pup. Not that Izulu could really call herself a pup anylonger. She didn't seem to realize hew own growth, however, in the way that most people are not readily aware of their own developing bodies. Not when the developments were so slight, at any rate. The most that Izulu noticed was that she was now large enough to push through some of the jungle life that had before kept her at bay.

Oh what a joy it was to have revenge on the tryanical plants! Izulu growled feircly at one such lifeform that had snagged at her tail and tripped her on many occassions (though one could argue that it was indeed the pups own fault for never bothering to watch where she was going). She snapped at it, rewarded by a mouthful of leaves, nose full of pollen and a satisfactory scream that only sounded in her own mind. Certain that justice had been performed, Izulu forgot to spit out the leaves and pranced on past the mutilated plant, seemingly unawares of the yellow smear across her nose.

The sneeze she issued a few seconds later was likely the result of that encounter. It made quite a sight as well, for who could say they saw a Hyena pup be blown back by their own sneeze while spitting out a mouthful of greenery before? Temporarily astounded, Izulu sat there on her backside wiggling her nose. A second sneeze followed its mate, the high-pitched sound ringing from the treetops and startling a few birds.

Izulu sniffled a little, but the pollen had been dealt with. Silence broken, she jumped to her feet and whirled about to glare at the plant. "DEMON LORD I SMITE THOU!" She howled, dropping into a crouch before springing upon the hapless botanical bystandar.

Ushirkino Watembezaji
"My, what a brave little warrior we have in our midsts." Came a soft tone,

Kiva made no comment on the previous scene, for truthfully she had seen the great sneeze the little purple pup gave off, but was treated to an even more amusing sight after.

The goddess kept her wings tucked to her side, not wanting to startle the youth. She purred softly, watching the young female with dusty eyes.

...//Times Changing

Kisoni
Meeting that wretched Hyena had put a cap on Kizuka's week--no, her life. First the plague, then the invasion, the battle for survival, finding the valley like THIS, triv's desertion, and now.... Her thoughts trailed off. Shaking her head in annoyance, the simmering lioness headed back to the cave entrance that had become the trios home back when they had been a quartet. And now, they were a duo. Her ears went flat against her skull as she thought of Ushuafu's desertion. For the first time it occurred to her to be angry about it, no matter that he was just a scared little cub--that really wasn't it, was it?

She was in love with him. Kizuka'd already admitted it to herself, no matter how sick it made her feel. She'd BEEN in love with him... perhaps that was why triv'an had left them. Not that it excused his abandoning Kimaji along with her. As Kizuka reached the cave she began to pace, wearing a long stripe in the ground in front of it. As it was still daylight outside she wasn't too worried about the adolescent since she already knew there wasn't much left here that could hurt her. Even the herds that had been becoming so dangerous from starvation were becoming too weak to fight back--the very, very few who were too sick to walk away.

That brought up yet another problem with the area. Not only was the water slowly dripping away, but there was less and less to eat. Kizuka knew that her own ribs were starting to show. Her only consolence was that Ushuafuand she had both been sacrificing enough food to keep anything from showing on Kimaji's form. No matter what he'd done, he deserved that much respect from her. Kimaji wasn't his daughter, but he'd treated her like family... Kizuka snorted when she realized that she was speaking as if Ushuafu had a reason to be jealous of the daughter she already had.

Did she want him to have a reason?

The answer to that made her growl again. Kizuka plopped down in front of the cave and began to wash her paws roughly. Kimaji should be home soon and they had a lot to talk about. Unwantedly, the last suggestion of the hyena rand in her head again. Perhaps it was time to give up the dream and chase a new one.

User ImageToo restless to remain in one place for too long, Masika had excused herself from her newfound 'family' and gone for a walk. It hadn't been easy, to assure the others that she would be back, and that she wasn't just running away, but that she wanted to go alone. In the end, she'd become victorious but not without a hassle. It'd been insisted someone come along with her, that they could show her around, but there were things she wanted to discover on her own. She needed time alone with herself, her thoughts, and her lands.

And here she was, roaming around with her thoughts for company, trying to absorb all that she'd soaked up days before. The mistweaver's daughter, patrolling her lands. Everything was as it should be, right? Crystalline eyes, though seemingly hardly observing what they saw, memorized the land around her. Every step, every land mark, every sound was commited to her memory, certain things tucked away in a special place, so that other travels would yield further exploration. For now, however, Masika wanted to gather it all in, and see all there was. It was far too hot for her to be out, but that didn't bother her. It was more important to become in tune with the land around her, and determine for herself the state of the land.

The princess' stride was regal without meaning to be. Her necklace swung slightly at her chest, every once in a while gently colliding with her shoulder as she trotted along. Her scar was still healing and forming, a blemish on the mousy blue and grey fur, the only mark she bore of her 'old life.' As she leapt over an obstacle of unknown origin, the cavern caught her eye, but was quickly dismissed into her mental file of 'things that should be explored later'. It was unclear whether she overlooked the lioness in the cave, or whether she'd seen and chosen to ignore, but she was out in the open, in plain sight for the other to see.

...//A Most Unusual Lesson

Kisoni
Kizuka flopped down upon the dirt of the cave they'd called home for moons now. Pretty soon, for better or worse, it wouldn't be any longer. For a moment Kizuka thought she might be sad to leave it, but that passed rather quickly. No, regardless of where they were she'd be much happier than in this place; struggling to survive and fighting with unpleasant memories. Sure, there were some things that had happened here that she'd never regret but....

The lioness lifted her head to stare out into the growing darkness. Kimaji still hadn't shown up yet. Her brow furrowed slightly, in either annoyance or worry. Likely the latter. Kizuka got to her feet and padded to the entrance of the cave, staring out into the forest. She sat down again, but wasn't far from getting up to go look for her wayward young. Kimaji was getting so old now, she wanted to give her enough freedom and space for a youngling, but that didn't stop Kizuka from worrying. Especially considering how things were, recently. It would be better when they were traveling again... away from this place.

Her heart sunk a little; would she be able to come home again?

Freodwyn
Kimaji ran through the diminished lands around her, knowing that she had to get to the cave as soon as possible. Mommy was going to be upset with her for being out so late; that was one of the reasons she was moving so quickly. The other reason was that she could see the light was fading, and she didn't want to get lost in this place. She may have been here since she was a small cub, but she still didn't know enough about the lands to find her way back. There was no way she wanted to get lost out here; there was no telling what she'd find.

But she needn't have worried, for she soon realized that she hadn't wandered as far as she originally thought. She was starting to recognize the trees, and soon she saw the cave and Mommy waiting for her. Yes, she was getting too old to call her "Mommy", but old habits died hard.

"Mommy, I'm back! Did'ja miss me?"

../Mahuli & Audilifu - For me to know

Dark Fire Angel
Clear blue eyes regarded the ground; dirt, rocks, and a few bugs scampering between them, nothing unusual, however, said eyes seemed to widen in fascination before their small, blue hued owner crouched down to regard the insects from a closer view. The wings that adorned the petite figure seemed perhaps slightly large for her form, specially as they spread, her paw coming forth to place itself in front of the ants, interrupting their path.

The bugs seemed to grow confused for a mere moment before back trailing and walking around the paw that had blocked their way. Muhali giggled as she raised her paw, her thoughts swirling around strange areas before she finally looked up; Audilifu was not here yet. That much was obvious, even to one such as Mahuli. this just meant she needed to spend.... her time wisely, doing something else. Like watching the leaves from the trees fall, for example.

The idea was discarded however as the wind brought with it the scent of something further more interesting than leaves or trees; it brought the scent of a male. Slowly, the small female stood up on all four, her wings leaving plain sight, vanishing completely before she stepped out from the shelter the tree had been offering her; the sun shone upon her pelt, displaying dark blue stripes over a lighter blue coat, her frame small, specially for an adult, for she couldn't have been much larger than runty adolescent, however, there was no denying her age. It shone within her eyes, the type of wisdom only gained via experience and time.

Opening her maw, she mewled loudly, calling to the male, whomever it was, and though the action might've seemed alarming, Muhali was, after all, irrational in her ways; she saw it as an opportunity to play and make friends. Her wings were safely hidden away and she probably looked quite strange, sitting in the middle of the savanna, calling out to a male she both did not know and could not see yet; alas, one thing was certain, this male would not know that she was a god, and it'd be amusing, no matter whom he was.

Irrationality was bliss at times.

Kisoni
Ukatazaji wasn't feeling himself. No, that was innacurate, he was at the top of his game. Flicking an ear at a bug, he decided that he was neither; he was both. Where everyone else was concerned, he was at the top of his game.. where she was concerned, he wasn't feeling himself. Truth would do that to you, especially if you were in denial; which he was, rather indefinatly. Speaking of, she'd yet to show up wich was rather unusal for her, as he had no doubt she'd been telling the truth about the meeting times... she really didn't have a choice in that regard.

Then again, did she have a choice? He didn't have to deny things, he simply did. That in itself was a load of tripe and Ukata chuckled. It really was an awkward existance, his, but he didn't mind it so much when certain persons weren't involved, clouding things up entirely. Well, she hadn't shown yet and he was getting sick of waiting. Standing up to stretch, Ukata cut trenches in the ground with his claws and ignored the light gleaming off the baubles permanently attatched to his paws. Shaking dust off of himself, he flapped his wings in turn. White was hard to keep clean, a fact he'd grown used to as the white cap on his wings had grown in during childhood. It was at these thoughts that he heard something calling to him.

There weren't words involved, so it was questionable as to how Ukata knew this creature meant for him to answer. He did, though, and he folded his wings back into invisibility before heading to answer it. Heading around a bend in a sand dune, he was soon to come face to face with a little blue.... cub. Ukata blinked, why was there a lone cub in the middle of the summer-dried savanna?

It took only a moment for him to decide that he should approach her--after all, Ukata wasn't unsociable, he simply wasn't tolerable by others standards. Liking that too much to try and mangle it in his mind, the lion continued his way forward until he stopped in front of the little blue creature, looking down upon her with his serious amber eyes. Slowly one brow raised in question, "And what are we doing here, little ice cube?"

Raza was returning from one of her many wanderings. She knew it was a bad habit she was getting into, but she didn't mind. She enjoyed meeting new people, none of which were as pretty as her. It boosted her ego.

The moonlight shone on her back as she quietly slunk through the tall grasses. She knew her father would have freaked if he knew she was out, so she would always wait until he wasn't watching. She had always felt sneaky, but she knew it was just a matter of time until someone noticed.

Their family was still on the way back home, to the Mteo'nyungu lands. She could only hope her return would go unnoticed.

"Barazahi." The blue form sneaking into their little camp hadn't gone unnoticed--in truth, she hadn't gone unnoticed the last few times she'd snuck out. Embamba laid in the tall grass, unmoving as her daughter came back from that night's adventure; that stillness was likely why Barazahi hadn't noticed her yet. Now she lifted her head to look at the girl who wore her mask so proudly. For many nights she'd waited for her daughter to come to her on her own, but it was time for this to stop. Or, her mind amended, to admit it to one parent, at least.

The lioness got up, free from the dizziness for the moment, and padded over to where her daughter stood. Dropping down once more beside her, she invited the girl to her side with a slight gesture of her paw. No one else seemed to be up, and Embamba was more than prepared to deal with this without bothering Ndege. He had enough to worry about, being in foreign lands, he didn't need to know of this unless it were absolutely necessary.

"Where have you been?" The question was neither angry nor condescending, merely curious in a fashion. She reached out to straighten the fur on one of Raza's ears with her tongue.

The broken goddess of Love had been wandering for days, not quite knowing where she was, where she was going, or just....anything. After the 'incident' with Dath'charukai, she really wasn't sure what was going on in her world. And thus there was no direction in her soul.

The little lioness physically looked like a mess; her fur rubbed in every direction, her weight dropped enough for her ribs to poke out a bit, her face sunken in, olive eye's dim with little hope. She was a train-wreak, no doubt about it.

Tired, the goddess decided to rest next to a rock in the sands. There were no trees in the lands she was in, and so the rock would have to give her the shade she needed. Her wings had been hidden, the goddess not wanting others to swoop to her for any reason. She just wanted to be alone.

Dawn was breaking and the chill across the desert sands began to lift as the first flashes of fire caressed the Eastern sands. It painted the red and gold of the swiftly blistering morning sky across the dust and stone alike; including a shape that wasn't a stone at all, though she was occasionally mistaken for one in this dreary brown environment. Kizuka still prowled, no matter that the sun had risen and heat would soon bake everything and one in sight. With a firm resolution she ignored the rivers already caressing her back as they began to rise in earnest. She'd worked up quite the sweat, even in the freezing cold, that night as she'd searched for some sign of long-lost tracks. By this time, she was far from where Ushuafu had last been seen, and further out into the sands than she would have dared go a month ago.

A sinking hope in her chest told her the truth that any tracker could have seen: she'd left the trail cold for much too long. He may not have even left a trail, the logical part of her mind, the one that hope was desperatly trying to avoid, whispered. Ushuafu was, after all, a God; he could more easily have flown across the desert to be away from her, he needn't need flee on foot. A sigh rumbled through Kizuka's chest, and shook the fur that was still clinging to her withering form. She was no longer the sleek, beautiful lion she'd been before the drought had begun. While the power of presence that she'd always carried with her still remained, it was becoming more and more residual to the skeletal effect the elements had given her body. Once more it came back to that solitary thought: She was tired.

A sqwuak above her forced Kizuka from her depressing thoughts, and her honeyed eyes looked upwards towards the distant circling of birds. Buzzards, she frowned, with a ripple of fear through her body. Many things died in the desert, of course, and if Ushuafu had he would have long been picked clean. The lioness winced at that train of thought even as she bit back the mother's terror in her heart; Kimaji couldn't have gotten ahead of her. The girl was under strict orders not to leave her hiding place at the Valley's edge until Kizuka had returned from scouting the trail. In truth, she should have been teaching Kimaji how to do this.. but not on so potentially dangerous a trip as this.

Kizuka glanced behind her, the paranoid feeling causing her raised hackles to remain that way. It seemed like centuries had past since their trio had stumbled home and been warned of the danger they'd just barely missed in the desert. That dreadful Oasis several Gods had warned her of already, with their terrible leader. Were they still out there, or had they been struck down? Curiosity warred with a need to put as much distance between her and them. It wasn't fear, but something greater... Disgust? Anger? Contempt? And yes, perhaps a little fear. Ever since the Firekin it was hard not to hate that sort of thing.

That was neither here nor there, and Kizuka forced her mind from it. She'd already begun to move to the area it seemed the buzzards were circling and it would require all of her attention to make certain there was no danger about. If they were still circling, they weren't certain their prey was dead, or whatever had killed it was still there. There were three major ideas behind what might be feasting, and none of them were very appealing. The first would by a Hyena pack, which she couldn't dream of taking on alone. The second, with the same outcome, were wild dogs. Lastly were lions... and that would depend upon the tribe of lions and their personalities as to wether or not it would be a problem. Either way, if she was to take Kimaji across this land she did need to know what was out here.

There was, perhaps, a moment of disbelief when Kizuka finally found the object the birds were set to harrass. It was dull brown, travel stained, and with fur blown in so many different directions it almost didn't look like a lion at all. Lioness, she corrected herself. A few steps closer and the light movement of a stomach told her the female was alive.

Regardless of how beaten and broken the other lioness seemed, Kizuka did not move forward. She waited, sniffing the wind and listening to the land about her. If this was a trap of some sort she couldn't see it, but time had long since taught her the value of caution. It seemed as if the lioness had no idea she was there, either, though that Kizuka would never be certain of. A slow step to the right gave her a better view of the area.

Cautiously Kizuka circled the female. That she wore jewelry was one of the first things Kizuka noted; that was rather unusal among Lion kind, were you not a queen or king. Or a God, that sometimes helpful voice of reason commented. She'd met so many of them lately her head was swimming, but she couldn't accuse random Lionesses of being such. Then again, perhaps she was so used to it she was making it more common than it normally way. One thing was for certain, this female wasn't from around here. She didn't have the build of a Mistweaver, or the thicker structure of a pride lander. It was possible she was from even farther off, though what she was doing wandering about here was unfathomable.

There wasn't a trap that Kizuka could see, she was certain of that now. In acknowledgement of that, she took a few steps closer. Still, the darker lioness stopped a few feet away, certainly out of paws reach, and lowered her head a touch to eye level with the female. "You there..." She began, her voice a rich, though somewhat wind and time roughened, then she hesitated. What could she say? ... "Alive?"

demon_pachabel
User ImageStealthy little cub, crawl away as quickly as you can, nobody will see you.

To say the least, Nitesh was -not- quite a cub anymore. So he was tired of being treated as such and having his mother smother him in hiding. Y'know..as -fun- as that would have been.

So as was always the case, in the time of his parent's distraction, the earthy-colored juvenile made a RUN for it, zipping away to his freedom to go and play, frolicking out as quickly as he could.

However, he couldn't help but screech to a halt when the ever so daunting path which led out of the pridal lands came into view, bringing a curious grin to the boy's face. What lay out there, he wondered.

Well... as any boy would, he was going to go find out.

Checking to make sure no adults were watching him, the brown juve grinned, before making a run down the path to get out of sight as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, it would be impossible to avoid having EVERYBODY see him..

There had been, infact, keen eyes watching that day; a pair so bright that they actually shed light on areas close to the little kit. Well, he wasn't much of a kit anymore, and more of a juvenile, but he still felt small. Never the less, it had been on that day where Ujaala had been slowly making his rounds and feeling more and more curious as to what was around him and where had he finally called home - when the sudden burst! of brown fur had ripped past him, making him double back on his steps.

That was a fast one! he regarded as he turned towards where the lion had ran off, his ears perked high. It was almost like a challenge for the cheetah - could this one seriously be faster than he was?

The little dark furball decided that it was high time he found out, and like all of his ancestors before him, he had gotten up; watched his target, and away he went, speeding along the outskirts of the brown lion's home, his paws ever so lightly hitting the ground as he easily made speed and wound up next to the curious being, only having the energy enough for a wry grin.

Not faster, but fast enough - he mused.

There was a flashing light! Izulu had been having her usualy day; a frog to chase here, a butterfly that needed a lecture there.. she'd also taken the time to solidify her defeat of the horrendous green Ivy that continued to plague her life with its attempts to take over the world. Horrible stuff, that ivy, and so mean. How dare it insult her momma?! Sure, she may have never known her, but that was no reason to insult the woman. Izula was confident that the Ivy was fairly down on its luck this day, though one never knew what the tomorrow would bring.

It was shortly after her triumphant return to the pride's main "hang out" when she happened to see one of the younger lions slinking off into the territories beyond the jungle. That was odd... Turning her nose to follow him, the growing hyena bounced right along after him.
