Summary: Remi gets lost on her first trip to the compound and runs into the less-than-welcoming Ismet. After figuring out she's a guardian, he leads her to the gardens where she meets the mage, Dacian. He then takes her to the lab where she gazes upon the little ball of energy that is to be her new child. While they're there, the energy transforms into a little boy blended with a hawk. After dubbing him Gavin, Remi received the keys to her new (free!!) apartment. Dacian offers to cook dinner for them, and the aftermath of which left a fairly large tomato sauce stain on his wall...

Moving In
At the price the moving company was going to charge to move her into the compound, Remi decided it'd be easier--and cheaper--to do it herself. After the third trip, however, she seriously regretted that decision.
"Why...did I ever agree...to get a flat...on the fourth floor?!" she huffed as she carried her sofa--well, the right armrest of the sofa--up the many flights of stairs. Didn't this place have an elevator? The whole sofa had been too large to attempt to carry, so with her handy-dandy tool set she took it apart. She knew there was already one in the prefurnished flat, but it having an extra sofa never hurt. It just meant one more place to crash after a long day of work.
The difficult part was finding what to do with little Gavin. The hawk-child had proved to be very curious about the world around him, and the last thing Remi needed was for him to sneak out while she was unpacking. The best idea she could come up with was tethering him to the radiator. He'd have enough room to wander around the living room, but he wouldn't be able to get any farther than the kitchen, much less the front door.
"Mommee back!" he said for the tenth time that day, still with the enthusiasm of the first. He tried to toddle over to greet her, but the tether jerked him back also for the tenth time that day. Pouting, he watched intently as Remi set down the last piece of the couch. It was going to take a lot of work to put that back together.
"I'll do it tomorrow," she muttered. She still had four boxes, a small bed, and a bunch of little kid supplies to bring in. Luckily, she had rented a large truck, much against her checkbook's will. She didn't have a lot of stuff, but it'd be cheaper to do it all in one trip and save the gas.
There were so many things to do! Gavin needed toys, the groceries needed doing, and the flat needed organizing. She was only one woman! However, she was determined to do this alone, as the only other person she knew was Dacian, and the guy had already helped her out so much already. She didn't need him also joining in her moving woes.
So far the kitchen was piled high with dishes and silverware--save that it wasn't real silver, but Remi could always dream. Pots, pans, dishtowels, paper towels, and a high chair. A high chair was a definite necessity. The living room was in no better state. The television was sitting out in the middle of the floor next to the pieces of the coffee table (that had been too big to carry as well). The couch also laid in pieces next to the dining table. The bedrooms were filled with boxes and bedframes. The study was, miraculously, empty. This was mostly due to the fact that Remi had never had the luxury of a study before. What were they used for again?
"Mommee! Want food!" Gavin called from his tether. She sighed, maybe it was time for a break. After this she'd get the rest of the stuff upstairs and put Gavin's room together first. Poor little guy couldn't stay tied up forever.
She walked toward the kitchen to pull out a can of spaghettios. Apparently, ever since the meeting with Dacian, Gavin had taken a liking to the messy, tomato sauce covered pasta. Unfortunately, Remi had to make sure that he didn't paint the flat in the stuff. Eventually she'll let him know that if he wants to be messy, he'll have to take a bath.
Hours passed, boxes got brought in, spaghettios got flung, and carpet got cleaned. Taking a deep sigh of exhaustion, Remi stood before her newest task: setting up Gavin's room. The parts of his little bed lay in the corner of the room. She had to take out the one that was originally there due to that it was a bit large for a toddler. Currently it was in the study, which had been turned into a storage room. She'd pull it out again when he was older.
She had bought him a little dresser, a few toys, and a bunch of clothes. Again, her bank account screamed against it, but she wasn't going to skimp on her new son. But first, that bed had to be put together. Gavin was still tethered to the radiator, since she didn't want him exploring the boxes, but she had made sure he was comfortable. Though he claimed he wasn't tired, once she gave him a soft blanket and a downy pillow the little boy fell right asleep. All the excitement must have worn him out.
After another hour's grueling work, two smashed fingers, and a bunch of muffled curses, the bed was finally constructed. She dressed it with gold-colored sheets and a tan comforter. Eventually she would need to paint this room, as it was a bit too white for her tastes. Orange, maybe? She'd have to go steal some samples from the nearest paint store to make sure. She pushed the dresser against the far wall, laid a blue rug she'd found in one of the boxes in the middle of the room, and set up a nightstand with a little lamp. Would Gavin need a night-light? She wasn't sure. The clothes would have to be put away tomorrow, as it was getting really late. At least his room was mostly done.
Walking back into the living room, she saw Gavin still sleeping soundly, with his wing over his face. Remi brushed the wing aside carefully and his marble-like eyes opened briefly,
"Not tired," he muttered, yawning even as he said it. Remi smiled, taking the tether off. Picking him up gingerly, she carried him to his room, as he nuzzled her shoulder. She set him down on his new bed. He stretched wide, his wings opening to their full wingspan, which was relatively small. He blinked tiredly a few times, before realizing how soft the new sheets actually were. He collapsed on the pillow and instantly started snoring.
Remi chuckled as she pulled the sheets and comforter over him. He was adorable, even if he was a chaotic mess most of the time. She bent over and whispered in his ear,
"Welcome home."

Summary: Gavin sneaks out...again...and finds Inanna, his wolf-blended friend. After fluffy hugs and a pathetic game of ball throwing, the third mage, Ahneta, makes an appearance. Ina's mother comes to claim Ina and Gavin, and Remi shows up later to find that her son had not been eating by a plant like she thought. Ari kindly invites Remi to a picnic as Gavin and Ina nap on the grass.

Summary: Right before bathtime, Remi finds Haki on her stairwell. Haki stays for the night, joining a very reluctant Gavin in the bath. A miracle occurs when, after a few moments in the water, Gavin actually starts enjoying being cleaned. Afterwards, the two toddlers get ready to go to bed, but not before a midnight snack!
The next morning Remi brings Haki back to find Hadrian and Marc clad in nothing but towels. Once they were semi-decent and Remi chewed them out over leaving Haki alone, Marc invites Remi to stay for breakfast. Haki and Gavin go back to sleep as Remi endures much innuendo with the two men. Gavin wakes up later to a waffle breakfast, only to run into the living room and break on of Marc's priceless antiques. As payment, Remi now must act as his 'errand girl' for the next few months, complete with a *cough* uniform *cough*.

Dear Diary #1
((The handwriting in the journal is very tiny and neat, though written with an air of someone who has no idea what to say...))
To whosoever this may concern, namely this journal:
You'd think that as a writer that I would already have on of these, but alas I've never really had time to keep up with my own life. Now that I'm technically a mother, I thought maybe it would be a good idea to have some way of recording the memories. So, instead of bashing my head against a wall when I'm angry, I can just vent in here.
And then go bash my head repeatedly against a wall.
Really, though I guess this kind of thing could be theraputic, I've just never tried. Right now it's almost midnight, and Gavin's been asleep for the past few hours. Thankfully. I love him to death, but I'm more than ready for him to calm down when he finally does. The more I think about it though, he's really not as chaotic as I make him out to be...I just have a very low tolerance for havoc. In my world, if you run around naked after bathtime refusing to get dressed that's causing havoc. That alongside throwing food, not putting toys away, and falling in the toilet.
Cute toddler antics? I think not.
So, how does it feel to be a mother? I ask myself that every morning, now that I can't just get up and start writing anymore. Nope, I have to cook (if you could call it cooking) breakfast for two, make sure Gavin gets up at a decent hour, and then proceed to entertain a toddler until he passes out from exhaustion. You'd think it would get boring.
Except not.
The toilet incident was quite funny, as he had been trying to potty train himself. Unfortunately he's a bit too small for the hole and he fell right in. Of course, I had to deal with the aftermath, but looking back on it I can laugh now. I was screaming in my memories.
If there's one thing Gavin's a pro at, it's escaping. That kid is the Houdini of all toddlers. I turn my back for ten minutes, and then later I find him outside, down all the stairs, and in the gardens rolling in the mud. Four flights of stairs! How does he do it? He seems to enjoy himself when he makes it outside, though I insist that he takes a bath as soon as he gets in. He hates that, and I hate make him do it but I can't have a fungus infested toddler running through the flat.
He has made some friends though. First there's Inanna, the wolf-blend. Sweet girl, though Gavin seems to have a tendency to hug her tightly everytime he sees her. He claims that it's because she's fuzzy, which would make sense. Then there's Haki, who's a girl after my own heart. She's also the only girl who could make Gavin willingly take a bath. Her guardian however...((there are scribbles where comments used to be, but her better judgement told her to cross them out))
I can never think of waffles the same way again. I'll leave it at that.
Well, I might as well leave this off until I have anything else interesting to say. This journal will be placed under lock and key, and NO ONE ELSE CAN READ IT!!!
Anyways, until next time!
- Remi

Summary: Things just seem to happen to Remi when she takes her walks. This time, she runs into a man her age named Stephan Abrams. After a moment of talking, he invites her to the local diner. There they talk over coffee and pie, and seem to really enjoy each other's company. Afterwards, he lets her drive his car back to the compound, her first driving experience in over a year. As a joke, he invites her to his apartment, and she accepts. There they talk about possible remodeling ideas. When it gets late, he walks her back to her apartment, where they share an awkward moment that ended in blushes and rushed leavings. There's always next time...

After The Almost Romantic Moment
The only word that could describe how she felt was ecstatic. Her heart rate still going over what it should be, she slowly walked back into her apartment. This entire evening had been like a revival of everything she was before work had gotten her down. Plans and ideas that she normally wouldn't even consider were flying through her head. Maybe she would contact some of her old college friends. Maybe she'd initiate the next meeting with Stephan. Or maybe she'd actually pay attention to her toddler sitting in the middle of the living room floor.
"Gavin? What are you doing up this late?" she questioned, that motherly tone cropping up again. Apparently when you became a parent, that special 'voice' just came with the package. When she turned on the light, she didn't know whether to scold him or laugh at him.
He sat in the middle of the floor, completely covered in toilet paper. Wrapped head to toe, with only a small space for his eyes, tufts of his bright orange hair sticking out, and his wings. Obviously, he'd found the spare package of toilet paper underneath the bathroom sink. That was six dollars worth of toilet paper wrapped around her son.
"Play!" he squeeled happily, waving around his mummified arms. Next to him, she could see five or six empty cardboard canisters that had once been full.
"Gavin it's after ten," she said sternly, trying not to succumb to the cuteness. "You should be in bed right now."
"Paper better than bed!" he grinned back at her. His cheeks caused some more of the paper to fall away, letting her see his white teeth in a full smile. Caving in, she smiled back at him. Walking over to him, she picked up her son and rested him on her hip.
"Well, what am I going to do now that my little Gavin has turned himself into a mummy?" she asked him playfully. He giggled back, grabbing onto her neck for extra support. It was times like these that Remi was actually happy she'd agree to be a mother. Little kids could just be so adorable sometimes.
"But it's time for my little mummy to go to bed," she said, starting to walk toward his room.
"Awww," he whined. When Remi opened the door, she paused in disbelief. Apparently Gavin had done more than wrap himself in toilet paper. His entire room was draped in it. Spending all that time with Stephan left Gavin plenty of opportunity to make a masterpiece out of this. It draped across his bed to his dresser and then to his door. Well this was going to take a while to clean up.
"Paper pretty!" Gavin pointed toward his handiwork proudly. She was going to feel bad tearing it down. The only clear space was where he actually slept, which she guessed was a good thing. Maybe...
"Gavin, how long do you want to keep your room this way?"
"Days!" he replies happily. Remi smiled back at him. It wasn't like they were going to have any visitors soon. She was too tired to clean it all up anyways. Usually this kind of thing would have put her in a bad mood, but after this evening nothing could make her unhappy or angry.
"Alright then," she said with a definite tone. "We'll keep your room this way for a while. If you ever get tired of it, just tell me."
"Yay!" he squeeled, hugging her tighter.
"But it's still bedtime for you," she smirked, walking him over to the bed. "You can play with this more tomorrow, but no more taking toilet paper out of the bathroom without Mommy's permission."
"Okay," he stepped down from her arms onto his bed. Luckily he looked a little bit tired, which meant he actually would sleep tonight. All this running around decorating probably wore him out again. He rubbed his eyes, as if confirming this thought.
"Goodnight Gavin," she bent down and kissed his forehead as he laid down under the covers.
"Night Mommee," he yawned.

Ability Quest Gavin, while perhaps a 'normal' toddler in the terms of the Âmes world, seems to have hit a point where he feels something. He feels as if he is on the verge of something new and exciting - and will be having some grand adventures. Or at least, one grand adventure.
The little boy is changing; to complete this change, he feels an urge to locate certain items and keep them with him. Maybe the essence of these items is neccessary? Do the items themselves mean something to him?
Who knows.
The five items the little hawk toddler is searching for, are...
-Money (can be any amount) -Something breakable (but not actually broken) -A stuffed animal -A favorite food -A feather, but it can not be one of his own.
After he has found these things, he must think of something that he truly wants.
((Alrighty, basically the way that this works, is that you rp his search for these and put in pictures of the things he is finding. Then, after the self-rp, I post again >.>))
