Do you think Heero + Relena is a couple built to last?
  Yes! They're meant to be!
  No! I'm a yaoi fan!
No! They just don't seem to fit! I like them single!
  Um, I don't know?

The worst thing is when yaoi fans go out of their way to put Heero with Duo or something. It makes no sense - the series has made it perfectly clear that Relena and Heero are canon, and there's no real proof to back their claims up. And seriously, I don't see Heero as the type to be gay.

Amen to that!! Heero appears to be the type of guy that when he shows his attraction to somebody, he SHOWS it. He comes off as the "All or nothing" type of guy to me. You either see all of his emotions or none. He just can't seem to find the happy medium.

Hm....I sense hostility here. I choose to keep my views to myself on this subject *cough*

I don't have a problem with someone liking yaoi - as long as they aren't the type to loudly force their beliefs upon others. Heck, several of my friends are into yaoi, but most of them are actually fans of Heero/Relena.

Besides which, one of my close personal friends, who is gay, says that none of the boys set off his gaydar. Not even Duo, as much as he wishes otherwise. ^_^;;

I've noticed that apparently, some people think the guys seemed gay because they didn't actively persue girls during the series. This is just a dumb view - they were busy fighting a war, for heaven's sake. Business before pleasure and all that. Besides, they're only 15; that's a little young to be out trolling for booty, wouldn't you say? Add into that the fact that most of the characters in the series have some serious social development issues, and I think it's a good long time before anyone settles down.

I didn't mean the comment as in I hated yaoi fans - just that I'm religiously against gayness, and I probably would be anyways. I have friends who like yaoi too, but there was this scary incident where one of her DPs was of an... let's say explicit scene and she decided to name it BeeJay. I really don't want to explain it, but by the end of the week everyone knew about the DP, the name and what it all meant.

*blink blink* Oh no I'm not against yaoi fans!! I am one to a point. Eerie Queerie is good.

The only answer I got from my cousin is that she can see the guys acting like that. There's more to the answer but she's taking a while writing it out for me. This answer may not make much sense. When she writes everybody is a victim of OOCness. I am trying its just hard.

I think they might. But GW was written for guys, and there is only hints of a love story. But I want them to.

Well, fandom does influence a lot to the series. Of course, I suppose it depends - I mean, it's quite obvious that the directors of Gundam SEED Destiny caved in to fan demands to bring Kira back. Personally, I thought that was stupid.

But then, Wing basically opened up the world of Gundam to a wider scale. Everything romantic about it was maybe... intentionally vague? Just to get the female populace worked up about it and grow more in love with it?

A good move on their part. It worked. Proof being that most of the posters back on the orginal thread were girls. It was a good move getting fanfiction up, increasing publicity, and popularity.

The reason why the Fans wanted Kira back was because Shinn was a crappy main character.

Also you need to remember that alot of teh female fanbase was brought in because they dropped 'hints' that the boys where not exactly straight in Gundam Wing. After all there are several um..... official gay-ish images of Heero and Duo after all.

I liked Shinn. I didn't like Kira. But that's beside the point.

I suppose that was a large factor in it, but I like to think of it as they just made it all vague so that people could decipher it whatever way they wanted.

Heero and rElena was decided by fans a long time ago. why eldse would he have left again after endless waltz. I betthat night the were together and getting it on because of the way he acted in the outtakes music video. and I don't think Quatre was gAy either however a lot of people call him queer.

The vagueness was and still is a good move. Fan interpretation, no matter how scary it may be, has opened it up for all sorts of fans. Though, there are some that a lot of us wish didn't exist.

I think that if Heero and Relena were to get together and what not, they would drive eachother crazy. Relena would relize that Heero isn't the knight in shining armor that she believed he was and Heero would go crazy cause he wouldn't be able to be himself; Relena likes to push her ideas onto people hoping they will see only her way.

but heero goes along with those Ideas and Duo does point out that heero loves her.

Well, it's all open to viewer interpretation. That's what made Wing so successful... it's a good point both of you brought up...
