Lt. Borax
Trying to figure out what the stalks are and interpret if they are something to be worried about
(5 + 1 (recon)) = 6)

When the glance Jadarite had given him was brief, he offered a brief wink in turn, letting his gaze slide elsewhere.

What was happening in this room? It felt considerably more high-tech than what this place usually aligned itself with. He saw the warnings, the screens, the fire flowing through tubules to power the machinery. It seemed that there were two dominant approaches to his team and the accompanying team's movements. Some were approaching the ducts, others were approaching the doors.

The doors were opened via General-King Jet, which did not take him terribly by surprise. It seemed as if anyone had an override power, it would probably be the one possessing nearly the highest ranks of the Negaverse...

He glanced down toward the access point via the floor. Would that access still be necessary?

Borax kept it in the back of his mind as he strolled up to his captain, greeting with, "Captain," and following with, "I will take a closer look at the not-sprinklers." Really looked like a flower sprinkler he might see in a fancier garden walk's yard... Except, well. Obsidian. Mechanical.

He strolled toward them, keeping his head back and following their motion with the wiggle of his body. Were they tracking something on purpose? Was this hallway recording them or tracking their presence?

Perhaps they should take the other approach?

General King Jet
Communicating with Faustite. Trying to coax out the youma.

Jet wasn’t sure what to expect, but he certainly hadn’t thought the mysterious building would know who any of them were. Maybe when Faustite was scouting out the place, the building somehow… hacked into their communications or… who knew.

“Any knowledge of how this place might know who we are? It responded with my rank and name,” Jet said over the communicator to Faustite. He looked over the message again, waiting to see if it would say anything else, but instead the doors opened.

Another door was there, looking like it had seen better days. But before he could get very far, he could hear the others still in the room they were about to leave, and he wasn’t going to go without the rest of them.

“Is that okay, Captain Jadarite? Albite?” Jet asked when Leifite decided to go ahead and direct the guardian cat (Haymitch) from the other team. Jet did want them to work together, but not with the expense of undermining the other team’s leaders.

The Mauvian didn’t seem to care who was giving orders, and seemed content to wait until orders were given.

“Great initiative, but let’s make sure the other leads are in agreement before we merge teams,” he said quietly to Leifite so the others wouldn’t hear, but was ready to try and smooth things over with both Jadarite and Albite in case they thought they were having their team taken from them.

As for the mysterious youma, Jet took another step to where Lieutenant Andesine and Miyamoto were at the vent. “You okay?” he asked Miyamoto before peering inside as well.

“It’s probably terrified. Come,” Jet gently called to the youma, holding his hand out to it and hoping it would crawl out of the vent before it gave the Mauvian or the Senshi any trouble. “We won’t leave you trapped in there.”

Eternal Husband Albite, Corrupt Senshi of Retribution

It wasn't ******** fair....

Albite really, really, really, reaaaaalllyyy --- Wanted to go touch the big a** warning doors, they didn't even say what they were warnings for! Just signs, n colors, n sights that screamed 'stickitinmeidareyou'.

"I won't electrocute myself Jet, I know better n'to stick anything in a hole. That's what my sweetest bonded babys for!" the itty-bitty-kitty hatch got a side eye chock fulla curiosity. So did the door. Though he said the words, and smiled all big and promised his General King that he wasn't about become the worlds first deep-fried Senshi of the Rift.

He still kinda, sorta, maybe really wanted too.....

But Albite could feeeeeelll Jada's gaze in-between his shoulder blades like a double-edged warning coated in ice. None of their words left room for argument n so he could only stand his ground and be agreeable. Waiting patiently for a clear path that'd lean him one way or another on what to do or not to do. It meant more watching than he was used to. Which was probably for the best -- especially when he could sigh all relieved, because Jet was very much unbarbecued, so there'd be nothing to lie terribly to Aqua about.

"It's fukn' weird it knows you Jet -- I bet the thing probably would'ave fried my a** up. Huh Jaybird? You think it's linked to our -- uhmn -- the data things we run?" which let strange become stranger still, because if this s**t was old then it shouldn'tve been all plugged into them. Unless it had Jet's DNA in it!! Which was even scarier still.

Or hell, maybe the Rift just knew it's people? Some Metallia granted gift.

Albite was sidetracked briefly from beckoning the rest through the opening doors as he nuzzled Haymitch and gave him a verbose sendoff, all grin and glee for his cute kittn getting s**t done, "You've got this Hayby!"

Just don't get stuck...

That thought stayed unspoken as he watched his perfect little kippn get a move on, swift as a greased eel down a hole.

"It's fine Jet, my hayboy's just as tough as me, and like he said? If that thing decides to get nippy nstead'ah coming to heel? It can take a brief little dust nap n come back somewhere that's hopefully not here." There were tenmillion in one places better for the Youma, half terrified as Jet made it sound. He waived the rest of Jet's worries off, his own form of leadership had always been hands off. If Leif wanted to take the lead? If Jada waned to put her heel down n hand out orders with cliffnotes on 5x4 stripped cards? He was happy for them. It was easy enough to feel like the proudest Eternal around, when his whole a** team was present and accounted across the various spaces. He got to hang with Jaybird, n Jet! He got to play in the Rift with his boy on a mission!!

Well, for the most part, there was that everburning back of the mind, hindbrainstem terror that occasionally sparked whenever time passed between Faustites checkins, but then the coms would chime n his husband'd sound bored as ******** and all Albites lemon in the wound worries would be suddenly appeased.

The shaken Andesine (2) would find that the opened vent looked remarkably identical to the other vent. Both were dark inside, but serviceable enough for crawling if they had to resort to that. Perhaps most interestingly, though, was how the scorpion youma seemed to ignore her completely in favor of skittering into the vent opposite the one it exited. It didn't seem to mind Miyamoto much, either.

Truly, the cat Haymitch (6) was the best fit for exploring the vent. While dark, the feline's eyes would have no trouble looking around as he entered the vent. The area was mostly nondescript – the same notched metal plates lined the duct the whole way down – but on the way in, there was a constant breeze blowing at the cat's face. Along the wall were a smattering of sandy brown, glowing symbols – – that seemed to react to his presence.

Down at the end of the duct, Haymitch would be able to see an opening into a different room. The room was far, too; roughly the length of a hallway lay between him and the new area.

As Borax (6) observed the machinery overhead, the machinery followed him just the same. From what he could tell, there were no lenses to speak of, only holes. If they were anything, they weren't cameras. That didn't discount high-tech sprinklers, however, and there was no way to be certain that there weren't payloads hidden by the ceiling. If they were weaponry, the bore of those holes was rather small for bullets. That said little of lasers or gasses, however.

Faustite's voice came on over Jet's communicator. "Hold on. I'll ask my tech lackey." A silence of minutes followed, then Faustite's voice returned. "Said there wouldn't be any way for it to access our databases. Something about tablet encryption and failsafes and other garbage I didn't understand. Suspect it might recognize our auras to an extent. Might have a way of deducing our mineral names, but I don't know what that would be."

As if coming out of a fog, the scorpion youma stopped once again at the mouth of the next duct. It turned at Jet's command, then started for him at a clip more natural to the creature. At roughly the size of a cat, it was rather large for climbing onto a hand, but it did its level best with chitinous pincers holding tight to Jet's sleeve. Its tail was coiled and it clicked in a frazzled manner.

Faustite's voice sounded over the team leads' tablets. "Jadarite and Albite, status with me if you've anything to report."

For those facing the hallway, perhaps they regarded it with suspicion. There was little to say what those mechanisms were that hung from the ceiling – whether they were guns, sprinkler heads, or flamethrowers. Recon had only turned up so much before the mission went underway; any one of these suppositions could be correct.

In an abrupt shift, the entire hallway turned on its side. Either that, or everyone in it had suddenly fallen to the side, but if anyone looked back out the double doors to the elevator shaft, they would find it pointing sideways. It appeared as if the hallway – and only the hallway – was what moved. And when the affected team members had tumbled, it pit them closer to the mechanisms that aimed at them so hawkishly. Lavendulan and Miyamoto were fired on by these gadgets, which sprayed out a stream of cyan-colored smoke that quickly saturated the two. Then, a series of small panels from above rained down on the hallway dwellers, inflicting more injury to ego than to self. Freshly exposed were a series of vents, which began to suction the smoke back up through the –

Well, it was the wall, but now it was the ceiling. Which was roughly six feet away from everyone, now, and made for a cramped progression.

However, on the third vent nearest to the broken-open door was a symbol that looked like a P. Some minuscule stars hovered near the glowing green symbol. It was tucked well enough away, however, that teams could easily pass it without bothering with it.

The broken-open double doors at the far end still looked passable, if they squeezed through one at a time. Perhaps it would lead to the same area as the ducts discovered earlier, and lead them to their section of the building proper.

Quote:
Lavendulan and Miyamoto now smell like floor cleaner for the rest of the investigation. They suffer no ill effects from being hosed down (apart from their olfactory situation).

The next story post will come on 12/23/22 around 9P EST.

Eternal Husband Albite, Corrupt Senshi of Retribution
Checking up and Checking in and why are things moving---

Faustite couldn't see him, but he smiled at the com's regardless. Looking back at Jada being all serious business before stealing his own quick chance to checkin. Had Faustite heard the Door joke before? "Sup' Firebrand. Ohhey! I've got something for you, when's a door not a door? I'll give you a sec---" and Faustite would have all the seconds in the world, because Albite could barely remember that particular punchline on a good day. He knew his boy was smart though. Bet good money that Faustite would kick up an answer n pass it in his direction when he had the time n energy to manage on top of all the multi-tasking he already had going on.

"---but yeah, aside that? s**t's good. Jet's bringing home the cutest little youma-friend." Albite wanted to keep it! All his questions on whether or not the Youma deserved to go on undusted faltered the second he saw those clickly little pinchers n the gently-shy attempts to climb their General King's sleeve. Beyond the boundless badassery of such a pet, the little guy looked sweet. "So don't tell Aqua -- or Jet's dog -- this place's graffitied t'hell n falling apart at the seams. If Leif'r me get words back from Hayby about what's in the vents aside from Youma we'll ping you, kay?" a thumbs up in Jada's direction so she could offer actual facts over the freed up coms.

And he didn't say 'I love you', and he didn't say 'be safe', but he thought it really, really hard. Thought it the second he'd caught sight of fires powering the place, with colors he knew so intimately as to be, for him, unmistakable. Thought it as the tubes lit up. Thought it again now.

Then he heard the shift as the ceiling rained down n the hall beyond tilted, a very clear '********' all about his face -- "Thefck' Lav, you n the others okay?"

Captain Jadarite
Reporting In

Albite's report might not have been the most mission-focused, but that would have been a lot to expect of him. He wasn't charging headfirst into anything, which was really all that Jadarite could ask. She stepped over to him, and then reached up to lay a hand on his shoulder, which she patted once, then twice.

She didn't speak it, in front of the others, but to him, the message would be clear. Good boy.

She took a half step away, then brought out her own communicator. "Jadarite reporting, sir," she said.

While she spoke, she watched the chamber ahead of them twist, and spray something. Her gaze stayed flat, without so much as an eyebrow raise in the direction of those farther in. If she was surprised about anything, it was that it only seemed to have sprayed soap. From what she'd seen of the Rift so far, it didn't often smell like a freshly cleaned bathroom.

"I was able to read more of the warnings. Something about damaged cranes, nothing that seems immediately deadly. 4, 13, 18, and 24, it said. Jet can override some of the security features, which is why he was asking why it might recognize him. I've yet to see any cranes, though. Right now we're facing some kind of rotating chamber with an inconvenient automatic cleaning system, which,"

She let go of the transmission button on her pen and turned to Jet, and the senshi who had been helping him with the technology earlier. "Do you think you can turn that off, too? Or," she peered into the chamber, asking the ones who had ventured deeper. "Is there a control panel in there we'll have to use instead?"

Super Miyamoto.

Without realizing it one hand had been rubbing at his shoulder, it really throbbed and hurt, but hearing the General King's querry the corrupt turned hia teention to him, and realized what he'd been doingf. "Yeah, I'll be fine." It hurt now but he could, and would, ignore it. He wan't going to let it stop him that was for certain. "It seems like the youma doesn't mind us." The us he spoke of being the corrupt senshi and the cat amongst there group. Youma generally didn't like such agents, it was well known, but this youma didn't seem to care. "Is it perhaps being more docile than usual? And a bit off kilter perhaps."

If he were going to do, or say, anything more it went undone and unsaid as he found himself being sanitized by some cyan colored smoke. The smell had him wrinkling his nose and coughing. "I hate the smell of cleaning products." it was one reason he dislike dhospitals so much...the smell of the cleaning products. It chemicle clean smeel was strong and more than unpleasent and now to be covered in it - oh ******** god. "Whoever devised this system...needs to die if they haven't already." He also needed some way to stop his nose from working right now, and until he could get a proper shower.

As he spoke, more to himself tah any one person, the senshi was looking over the vents to see if they should expect anything else to happen. That was when he spotted something that was glowing and green. "Pluto..." He'd had someone get knuckle tattoos a few weeks back of different planet symbols and this had been one of them, he'd asked them about it. They were an card reader and did astrology readings for people, they'd offered to do either one for him - for free. He wasn't the sort who gave to either of these things and had told them as much.

"Why is the symbol for Pluto here?" He questioned, glancing towards the General King amongst them, defering to the one with the highest rank.

Lt. Borax
Trying to see what's on the other side of that broken open door without going through it
(2 + 1 (recon)) = 3)

These things were definitely watching him.

Not with a camera to record him, though, and he couldn't quite tell the purpose in time for the room to casually slide itself in the other direction. He held out his arms and stabilized himself as nothing else seemed stable, and everything else seemed to have become smaller. Smaller to clean them, evidently...

"I think this is a sanitization hallway," Borax noted, wryly. "It appears to be turning us as if we're in a washing machine."

He kept a wary eye on the flower steamers as he walked a bit further into the hallway, toward the broken open doors. As Jadarite advised, and of course not wanting to look like he wasn't sharp, he had no interest in being the first person to slide through the doors. He was, however, interested in if he could see anything through the doors that may tell them if this was a path inside or something they may wish to stay away from.

Borax stepped carefully, attempting to see if he could see what was on the other side of the doors without stepping through them.

Lt. Andesine
Moving to continue providing support. Getting thrown about by the hallway. Looking for a control panel for the hallway and/or the double-doors (3 + 1 (recon bonus) = 4).

Provide support as necessary.

That order from Captain Leifite stuck out clearer than anything else in Andesine’s mind. She’d moved to check the vents because giving more support with the door had proven unnecessary. As General King Jet seemingly calmed the scorpion youma—or tamed it? or otherwise made it act in ways that most youma typically didn’t, at least as far as Andesine had seen—she took a few steps away, headed into the corridor. Others were moving in there, operatives from both her own team and the one seemingly answering to the captain with the pinkish-blonde hair (Jadarite)—Miyamoto, one of the other team’s Lieutenants (Borax), who Andesine recognized from the briefing before the mission.… He’d stood out to her for not seeming like he should’ve been worried about an upcoming exam in Pre-Calc, rather than a mission into the Rift, closer to Andesine’s own age than to ******** high school.…

Splitting up, gang, never worked out well for anyone, and given the changing circumstances, “support as necessary” had to evolve as well.

Unfortunately, the hallway decided to change as well.

Knocked off her feet by the sudden shift in the ground, Andesine curled her arms (and her pilfered vent-cover) in tightly to her chest. She couldn’t remember where she’d heard that advice—but since the motion sent her falling face-first, it proved a good idea. Not exactly enjoyable, flinching as the wall-turned-floor rushed up to meet her, but at least she didn’t hurt her hand or wrists by trying to catch herself and hitting them too hard, with too much pressure.

Define “Okay,” sir, she wanted to snark around the loquacious Eternal senshi (Albite), but kept to herself. On one hand, too easy for that to come off as rude, especially from a subordinate. On another, significantly more important hand, though, saying something like that might have made her look incompetent.

Besides that, running her mouth on that point would’ve wasted time. Far better to get back up, briefly dust herself off, then begin examining the hallway. Keeping an eye out for youma, or anything that might have threatened the team. Providing support as necessary……though it currently seemed less so, with the hallway having settled down.

“I’m on it, Captain,” Andesine called back toward the others who’d stayed behind. So many vents, though Miyamoto seemed to have those under control. The lieutenant who seemed happily past his ten-year high school reunion—he was looking at the door. Fell to Andesine, then, to look for the control panel the Captain had mentioned, or something. “If not the hallway, then maybe there’s something that can help with the doors.…”

Super Niter

Niter had followed others into the long corridor, which had given him half a heart attack when it turned and dumped him into a graceless heap on what was once a wall. It didn't hurt, it might've grazed his dignity more than anything. Worse, though, was watching some of his teammates get gassed — even if they seemed fine afterward. When Niter got to his feet again, he was feeling a little weak in the knees. Home would've been the better place to stay for a mission like this, he knew — especially for a senshi of delicate constitution.

But home was bad memories right now, he reminded himself. Besides, he needed to help out.

"Oh, um? I can try," he offered back to the other Captain (Jadarite). There'd be no messing with the computers built into the far doors, since it looks like they'd been blown to hell when the doors were essentially pried open, but the ones they were just at might be a little more helpful.

It took a moment for Niter to climb out of the hallway and reach the double doors from the other side, then faced the doors. As he began to poke at them for more options, Niter postulated aloud. "I wonder if permissions are like, super compartmentalized throughout the place? Cuz, um, when the power got turned on? Someone was standing by one of these things in the first room. But, there's nothing about power in this thing on the door. So, maybe each computer thing is really modularized within the whole system."

There'd be no way to test that, though, without hacking into something.

General King Jet
Communicating with Faustite. Trying to see if the youma has more to show them.

At least Albite didn’t seem to mind their teams working together, and Jadarite was already doing her own thing. The ambition of Captains these days (or at least these two in lead roles) was something to remember for later.

“See? No harm done,” Jet said, mostly to himself and the scorpion youma than anyone else. Most of the others were working diligently in trying to obtain more information about their area, which was good. He didn’t like feeling as though he had to babysit.

Jet had just stepped back through the doors with the youma on his shoulder when the entire hall began to shift and turned on its side. He managed to catch himself with his free arm, his other hand carefully curled up to his sleeve so he could keep the youma from being thrown off, but also trying to protect himself from getting accidentally stung. Jet shifted his arm a bit, giving the youma a little more room on his shoulder, and he turned his attention back to where the cyan-smoke was spraying a couple of the agents, including Miyamoto.

“Are you okay? You’re just not catching a break,” he said, his voice somewhere between exasperated and amused, but he watched the others sympathetically once it seemed like they weren’t being hurt by the smoke. Just…

Smelled like cleaning product now.

“You okay?” he asked Andesine and Niter, offering a hand in case either of them needed a moment to steady themselves, but he was relieved that they didn’t seem injured and were quick to move forward with their investigation.

“What about you?” Jet quietly asked the scorpion youma in an attempt to keep it calm. “You’ve been here longer than we have. Is there a safer way? Any secret passages we could fit through?” Or he supposed a cat if the Mauvian was willing to climb through more ducts.

Miyamoto’s observation of a Pluto symbol didn’t go unnoticed, although since this was the Rift, maybe it wasn’t so surprising to Jet that they would find the remnants of old Knight things. He did make sure to take a quick glance over Miyamoto's shoulder to verify it was what he thought it was.

Faustite,” Jet called over the communicator once more. “A symbol for Pluto was found here… and an entire hallway we were in just flipped ninety degrees and sprayed some on the teams with some... cleaning solution maybe. Everyone seems to be okay. Any thoughts on this place being connected, maybe as an outpost, to the old Knight Academy? How are the other teams doing?”

"What the ******** kind of a joke is that," Faustite snapped back at Albite over the intercom. It had to be something stupid, he knew, like — "When it's ajar?" Wow — why was he even trying to guess?

"Jet found a youma? So they're alive, but stuck in the building somehow? Has to be something about the place that's blocking signatures, then. Come to think of it, I can't feel any of you either. Don't know what you mean by 'graffiti'd to hell', but I'll take your word for it. Stay in touch."

At least Jadarite had called in next with useful information. He fell silent for a moment before he responded. "Sounds like a decontamination chamber, though I don't know why it would rotate. Might be approaching a production facility of some kind. If it acknowledges us and responds to our commands, then I expect this used to be a building that we owned."

Miyamoto [2], despite his brush with the disinfectant, was quick to discover the Pluto symbol that was once behind a panel. It continued to glow as it spouted off minuscule stars, as if beckoning someone to touch it and see what it had to offer.

As Borax [3] peered through the doors, he would spot some of the cranes that Jadarite had mentioned. The one nearest Borax, mounted on the wall on the left side of the next area, hung down as little more than twisted scrap and torn cables of light. The next nearest one was further up, and this one had three claws with a difficult-to-discern contraption at the center, with a thin glass frame that was bolted together at multiple joints with metal and obsidian housing. Opposite the crane was what looked like a conveyor belt, save that it was made only of a metal support system to hoist up the belt. The belt itself wasn't there, or it wasn't quite a physical presence — something rippled in his vision where a belt should have been.

Perhaps what was most noteworthy about the chamber, however, was that it was directed straight up and down. On the floor, a single sandy brown symbol glowed on the obsidian panel.

Andesine [4] would find that the control panels for the double doors would be attached to said doors, as it was with the doors they faced previously. However, when the doors she inspected had been torn open as they were, both terminals had shattered, rendering them useless. There seemed to be enough space for everyone to climb through the gaping hole in the side of the doors, though, provided they went single-file.

When Niter began fussing with the working doors, he found an option tucked into the corner that referred to an antimicrobial spray. When he touched the screen again to turn it off, it read back to him: DISABLING ANTIMICROBIAL SPRAY IS NOT RECOMMENDED. ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CONTINUE? The option to disable the spray and the option to leave it on lingered thereafter, waiting for Niter to make a decision.

When Jet spoke to the youma on his arm, it responded with a series of chittering clicks. Whether that meant yes, I'm okay or go to hell or anything in between, it was anyone's guess. It seemed this youma lacked the ability to speak in ways that others could understand. When Jet asked about safer passages, the scorpion youma climbed off of the General-King's arm and started further down the hallway. Rhythmic clicks and tinks of its chitinous legs resounded through the hall until it reached the half-destroyed double doors. After crawling up the wall, it squeezed through the doors without issue and waited on the other side.

Faustite responded as soon as he heard from Jet. "Good that everyone's okay. Never saw the Knight Academy myself, it was before my time. Don't know that an outpost to the Knight Academy would be this friendly to agents, but we can't rule it out yet."

Eternal Husband Albite, Corrupt Senshi of Retribution
Urging Borax to take the final plunge, squeezed up behind him n Andesine in the hall in front of the half-open broken doors.

Ajar! A jar of what though? That was the ultimate question. Still, Albite was satisfied with the Faustites answer for now, grinning to himself all the while. Especially with how many open jars they had to pick from -- which, okay -- it was really only the one kinda, sorta, mostly open door, but one was better than none!

None was bad -- none was the worst.....

Jada's warm touch on his bare shoulder set him to glance back at her, all that surprise settling into something softer for knowing she was at his back. Had his back, approved maybe? That her n Jet n the rest were handling the higher orders of thinking. Checkins, info relays, ensuring everyone was till in one piece if a little wet-tumbled n hyper-cleaned.

"Looks like there's only the one way that'll fit us, Jet. Tight a squeeze as it is. Though I imagine that any secreter passages'll only end up bein Mau sized ones--but hey- if anyone finds any? Holler about it." chipper as ever, with the only downside being that the one way looked ever more snug and disjointed to the Senshi. He lamented getting stuck in a hall set on spin. He watched some of the other Senshi play with panels, Niter was it? One of Jets. Watched Andesine try fervently to get those doors wider with broken somethings or other -- and there Borax was, peering through n watching the scorpio go..

"Hayby--sup bonded boy, our skitter-critter friend's going through the doors, don't get lost in those vents." hushed through the coms at his beloved bonded, Albite made his way into the hall. Fell in single file right up behind Borax, and gave the agent a gentle nudge and warmly urging eyes. Split up as they were? Someone had to try first.

"Go, s**t falls apart? I'll just yank you back or hold'm open. Won't let you get stuck, Jada'd have my wings."

Captain Leifite
Awaiting Haymitch's return

"Yes, of course. Thank you sir," she said, taking the gentle reminder and storing that away. For what it was worth, Jadarite seemed to be doing her own thing anyway, and Albite was more than happy for Haymitch to help. Besides, the cat was really the only one who could fit in that hole.

She stood next to the opening, waiting for the cat to return. She kept an eye on her team, as they began to fan out and look into things. She trusted Jada, to a point, and they were under her command.

Her observations were cut short as a furry tail popped back out of the hole.

Guardian Haymitch
Coming back to report about the room and Uranus symbol

Haymitch wormed his way through the duct work. It was pretty boring, honestly, except for the air that blew through the vent. Huh. Maybe the vents were still working somewhere. He'd been in vents like this before - it was how he usually snuck into post offices, after all! - and air blowing at him usually meant the heating or cooling system was still running.

What caught his eye was the glowing Uranus symbols that lined it. Why were there planet system in here...

He came to the end of the duct and peered down. A different room laid out before him, probably down a hallway? Not that he had a good sense of distance. Might be the distance from Albite's room to Faustite's office, or longer.

"Got it boss! Found something, so I'm comin' back!"

But, he wasn't going to go further yet.

Haymitch backed the way he'd came until his tail popped out the enterance, and he toppled back to the floor. Ungraceful, but he landed on his feet!

"General-King Jet, Captain Leifite, Albite! There's Uranus symbols in the vent, and I think the air condititioner thing is still running. Also, there's another room at the end of the ductwork. I think it might be down a hallway?" he reported in, sitting on his haunches and licking his paws.

---

Leifite smiled at the cat and crouched down to scratch between his ears. "Good work, Haymitch. General-King Jet, Albite, Jadarite. How do you think we should proceed?" she asked, addressing the leaders of the teams. "I am hesitant to send Haymitch into this other room without back up."

Captain Jadarite
Giving orders to move forwards, rolling to investigate door

"You should be fine to turn it off," she told Niter as the control panel talked back to him, only hesitating on giving him a direct command because he was under Jet and the other Captain's jurisdiction. "Whatever this place was made to decontaminate, it wasn't people."

Now that she was looking at it with the thought of cleanliness in mind, it had a lot in common with a car wash. Those often had moving arms and machines in them that could rotate around a car's body.

"Either way," her eyes followed the scorpion youma as it scuttled through the main hallway when asked about safer passage, and also the growing number of agents that were already within the decontamination chamber, none of whom appeared to be worse for the wear, despite a few unexpected showers, "We should be fine to head through here as long as we're careful. Question Mark, let's gather by the doors at the end of the hall and see what we can make out before we proceed."

She glanced over to Albite, mostly to make sure he was fine with what she was saying, although in her experience he never minded it when she gave orders. That was one of the things she liked about him. He was already heading down the hallway, which was fine as long as he didn't get too ahead of himself. "Can you make sure Haymitch makes it?" she asked, in the softer tone of someone who was warming back up to him. Her eyelashed fluttered once, twice.

That would keep him busy, and keep him from barging ahead into danger.

Then she was off, making her own way down the hallway towards the broken doors. It didn't take long to catch up with Andesine and Borax. She took a single quick glance into the second chamber, then muttered, "Found the cranes," into her communicator.

Her eyes were mostly on the doors, though, and on the control panels that looked equally as broken. "Something did a lot of damage here," she said as she leaned in to take a closer look for hints of what had done damage here, or how.
