[ Class Affinity Solo - Brute ]

As the strong one, you need to make sure you take care of your siblings.

You must keep an eye out and make sure no one harms the family.

If you don't keep up your training, you'll never be able to carry the burden of this family.

What will I ever do without my big brother around to keep me safe?

The voices always filled his head late at night, as he laid in his slip of a bed and looked up at the stars. His travels with Niiemh were peaceful, there was no threat, and yet he often couldn't sleep. Whenever his companions asked if he needed more rest, he would simply smile and shrug. Rest was for those who were weak. He wasn't weak.

Every since he was young, he found himself being told to be strong. Strong enough to lift the plants, strong enough to tend to the land, strong enough to protect his sisters and his mother's legacy. He never asked, never complained, never stopped working to be strong. He was a steady force, someone who needed to defend those around him.

He was happy. Wasn't he?

When he was given the task to protect his sister, he knew he needed to continue to grow and be strong like a brick wall. Nevermind the cracks, never mind the stress. He would be strong. There was no other choice.

If he were weak, he would fail, and no matter what he was not a failure.

So, when he spoke late at night, he learned of strategies. Techniques and abilities he could learn to further protect those he loved. He nodded, determined to work hard and follow the path. He was warned that it would be tough, that he would need to be stronger than ever. Not to fight others, but to protect others. And he would ensure that he could always protect those he loved. No matter what. That was the path he choose to follow.

[ Sorin finds himself making a split second decision without thinking of the repercussions ]

Often during their travels, Sorin would take breaks with the other caravan members. They would dine together, the older ones drink into the early hours of the morning. It often would result in a late start led by groggy men, but it wasn't so bad once you got used to it. It gave Sorin some time to get up early, train a little bit, and the rest of the caravan time to sleep in. They still made good time, so there were no big concerns.

One evening, after they just had left one of the bigger settlements, the group sat down for some drinks. Sorin watched them with a smile, glad to be part of the conversation, before he noticed something. Kokko, who was a bit shifty if he had to admit it, was glancing around and rummaging through his packs. He pulled out a small vial of glowing green liquid, shaking it a bit, before smirking. He was more of a trickster than anything, but Sorin had a feeling this would be something dangerous.

Usually when he pulled pranks, he attempted to bring in a few co-conspirators. The fact he was snickering to himself and glancing about gave Sorin a bit of a nervous sense in his belly.

Maybe it was the fact he was starting to study the ways of a protector, or so he called it, or maybe it was because they were preparing a few drinks for the women of the caravan, but he kept a close eye on Kokko. Close enough to see him sneak the potion into the dark drinks that were being prepared. Was he crazy? He just put something into a drink that clearly was not his own, and leaned back as if keen to watch and see what happened. Was it poison? It had to be.

He didn't really know if Kokko was angry at anyone, but what else would he slip into a drink not his own, with a green swirling color? Swallowing, Sorin kept his face straight as he walked up and grabbed the glass before Marik could, catching sight of Kokko's surprise.

"B-bah. Sorin, that wasn't for you!" The man sputtered as he rushed forward, but Sorin had the size and moved back.

"It's all the same, isn't it, friend?" He asked with a tilt of his head, and Marik let out a laugh.

"Go ahead, I'll just grab this fresh one instead." And the other man poured his drink. Kokko tried to get it away from Sorin, and eventually the prentice leaned forward.

"Is there something wrong with my drink, Kok?" He asked slowly, and the others grew silent. Kokko, who had a chance to speak up, kept silent and shifted his gaze away.

At this moment, Sorin could have thrown out the drink. But instead, like the fool he was, he simply went and drank it to a sputtering Kokko. This could have gone to his sister, and he would protect her even if he drank it all. Beside, he didn't know if the man could find a way to pull the liquid out of the ground.

After a long glaring match, Sorin smiled, "Delicious." And turned away.

It would take a few days for Kokko to approach, when Sorin's crystals began to turn a muddy brown color, and admit what he had put in the drink. A harmless prank, but still shady none-the-less. Sorin resisted beating him up for such a thing, instead deciding to wait and see what the fates would deem his new color. Apparently Kokko had no idea if it would even work, let alone the results. And they called Sorin the fool.

But hey, once the rest of the caravan found out, they patted him on the back for being such a great protector. And Marik bought him a few drinks, clean of course, to celebrate his transition from 'a boy to a man'. Well, it could have been worse.
