Class Choice [ 308 ]
Svadra had spent a few years debating exactly how he wanted to honor his mothers. Both were warriors, so he knew he would go down such a path, but the idea of what that path would be exactly took a long time. He knew he didn't want to join the Oban army...maybe it was his romantic side, but joining a symbol of oppression wasn't something he desired (though he'd never tell his mother). Others might have argued the same for the Alkidike sisterhood, but the ones that really were warmongers had been thrown across the sea in Zinris, and that wasn't where he would end up.
No, he was going to travel to Aisha, to the tree that bloomed him and blessed his mothers, and pay back that blessing. He would train with the sisters, learn their ways and grow to be a strong Aishan. Sure, he didn't quite match their coloring or their physical make-up, but Svadra had no doubt that he could step in and prove his worth. Underneath all of his posturing, Svadra was full of muscle. He was a trained warrior, a fighter, and he knew he could become something more.
Though he could bring his own flare to it. His mother told him that there was this group of sisters, ones that infused their weapons with magic. It felt so romantic, beautiful even, and already he pondered how he might design such weapons to be both beautiful and deadly. Oh yes, that was the way he wanted to live, and already he tried to find any sisters in Oba who might have identified as such class. Either way, once he made his way across the sand sea, he'd find enough sisters to train him to make his family proud. And at the end of the day, that's really what he was hoping for.

Thankful WE Svadra https://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=25536291Traveling across Oba was something that Svadra hadn't quite experienced before. Sure, he had traveled to a few settlements with his siblings, but not far enough where he couldn't easily return home. At this point, he was far enough across the sands that the last oasis had come and past, and his traveling companions warned him to stay covered and hydrated. Where as before he traveled in luxury, he wisely choose to travel in comfort with an outfit that covered his skin and shoes that didn't pinch his heels. They decided to stop in an outcrop of rocks, something earthling made that was often used for these types of trips. Many travelers gathered in this location, where tents were set, land was cleared, and a fire was prepared for the cold nights. Svadra kept to himself, observing the earthlings he traveled with for long moments. He didn't have much expression, as he didn't really evaluate them in a positive or negative way. Instead, he simply studied them, watched and waited as they moved around. There was a group with them, traveling across Tendaji. They too were Aishan, but full blooded and they kept away from others. He hadn't quite gotten the chance to approach, though the daughter was keen to make his acquaintance. He really didn't know to approach or not, though it wouldn't hurt if they might help him know the way to Chibale. There also were a few men from Jauhar, most shifters but one was a hybrid with the Leaf tribe. Their ability to shift their skin made it much more helpful when traveling during the day, as their dark tones helped protect their skin. Sure, it was hot, but at least they didn't burn too much...compared to if they were the milky white of the night. That and the leaf halfling had dark brown skin so it wasn't too bad either. Finally, the caravan leaders were mostly Obans, men and women who made this trip back and forth for coin to guide and protect their customers. It was quite fascinating the life they made, practically nomads but their knowledge was invaluable for anyone unfamiliar with the dusty sands. In fact, they had caught wind of a sandstorm and were prepared to set up camp well before it arrived. Svadra wasn't sure if it was a sixth sense or maybe some sign came from their familiars that they took along during each trip. As he set up his own space to rest, Svadra took a long moment to reflect. Every few nights, he moved away from the crowd and kept to himself, closing his eyes and just thinking about his journey and where he was meant to go. He was thankful for the life he lived, with no want for coin or comfort, but there was always something more. He always fought, trained and prepared. He valued where his mother's came from and how they got to the life they lived. He enjoyed the feel of the strain on his muscles, and the history of the Aishan sisterhood. He valued the journey his mothers made to bloom him and his sisters, and wanted to go there too. He wanted to become an Alkidike sister, even if he wasn't quite the same color as them. He had the traits, he had the power and the drive, and he had the values. He would ensure that he would meet their expectations and then some. While many saw him as frivolous, he wasn't one to simply accept the world as is. He worked for his status, he made sure he earned it. He didn't just spend and spend, but he had intent. He was thankful for what he had, but moreso for the desire he had to make more of himself. He wanted to make a name for himself, as a sister and as an Earthling. He knew he had to make a choice, to either go to the sisterhood or join the Army. But the army wasn't really as elegant as he wanted, even if his mother was. But the sisterhood...there was something about that spirit, that beauty, that made him want to go instead. So he was thankful for this opportunity to choose, for his mothers to accept his choice, and for his ability to travel and find that choice. He was thankful for everything he had and would have, and that was enough. It was time to return to the group, as food was ready, and Svadra once again debated if he would sit next to the Aishan group. Maybe tomorrow...for now, he had to plan for how he would request access to the isle. There was always tomorrow. They had plenty of sand to cross.

[ Svadra has finally made it across Tendaji and to the Aishan crossing. He must advocate for his reasoning for being there and prove he is ready to embrace his Aishan side, though must accept that in the short term that might mean hiding the Earthling side of him. ]
He had finally made it. After weeks of traveling with different caravans, his feet finally touched the coarse sand of the beaches where the boats crossed from Tendaji to Chibale. The holy land. The roots in which he was bloomed.
Svadra spent this moment in silence, savoring the feeling that washed over him. He ignored the other sisters working on the boats, the soft sounds of their voices mingling with the waves that slapped against the wood. It took awhile for them to sort out the other visitors before one finally approached him, an Amazon covered in scares and with a sharp gaze. It was clear she was a gatekeeper, one who would fight to the death to protect her home.
"Greetings, Sister." He said respectfully, his voice deep and his features soft. He bowed his head in greeting, his long dreads falling over his shoulder. The Alkidike responded in turn, evaluating his appearance and noting his features, he could tell easily from the weight of her gaze.
"Who are your parents, young one?" She asked simply, and he answered simply in turn. She seemed to recognize his mother's name, which was unsurprising. Though not his Earthling mother, though that seemed to not matter. She let the name roll across her lips, before nodding in acceptance.
"What is your intent?"
Another simple question, but this mattered so much more than the last.
"I come seeking to prove myself to the sisterhood, to fulfil my duties as a sister. I come to pledge myself to The Great mother and the ways of our sisterhood."
Others who were working paused to look over, to look him over. He was Aishan, tall and strong with antennae and fade. His skin may be dark, his eyes clear, but he was bloomed just as they were. And yet, they judged. Judged him for his eyes, judged him for his skin, but never for his ability to fight along side them.
His mothers warned him of this. Tiyva warned him of the culture she remembered, of the scorn of hybrids and the Earthlings. Her love was not always shared among the sisterhood, although it was becoming more normal. Karothdra warned him of how even with the same blood, his sex was something they'd judge as well - just as she saw it being a woman in the army. But change came with those stepping up, and he was determined to be strong and prove that no matter what he was, who he was was his determination and no on else's.
The woman before him seemed to decide something then, and turned to the others.
"Make room for one last traveler. Once we have everything packed, let's move. Night will fall if we do not hurry."
Then, she was gone and Svadra was left to rush into the water and place his pack with the others. Another sister helped him onto the boat, handed him a paddle and instructed him the way. She was kind, if curt, and seemed concerned not with him. And he was concerned not with her. For as they pushed away, he felt the excitement spread from his bones. He was finally starting his journey. He was finally joining the sisterhood. He was ready to learn.
