Prompt For All
Wild Encounter
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
Prompt Tendaji is filled with a wide array of wildlife, some friendly and some a bit dangerous. It's rare that an inhabitant of the world will spend a day without encountering a wild creature in passing, be it from hunting, traveling, or even taking care of a pet. The creatures of this world only seem to add to the colorful experiences that Earthlings, Aishans, and Kahikinans have each and every day.
[ For this prompt, we want you to pick one (or more) fauna in Tendaji and have your character encounter them in some way. Maybe it's catching a new pet, or animal watching, or maybe it's a hunting trip. Take some time to explore the flora and fauna thread and create a story around your character's experience with the creature(s). ]

Svadra was sneaking off to the market with his sisters, well as much of sneaking as they told their mothers they wanted to pick out something nice. They were working hard on their classes, so why not go out and be rewarded. It seemed his mothers also agreed and had pushed the girls out. Thankfully, the market was close enough and them old enough to not need a chaperone.
This time, however, Svadra was interested in something outside of the market. He was thinking a bit about his Alkidike mother's side of life, and how many warriors would ride animals into battle. He wasn't sure what animals made great riders, but he saw a big beast in the market that seemed to be able to hold anything.
He turned to his sisters and put out his lip in a pout that always worked on his mother, "Can we go and see the packbeasts before we shop?"

Kaiva had not been pleased, she actually enjoyed their lessons and wasn’t much of a shopper. So when her mothers pushed them out to the market, she crossed her arms and grumpily went. She didn’t understand those who were always at the market looking to buy things, it was much more fun to throw around daggers or try and beat your best score going through an obstacle course. Even when she was fighting with her mom, either by hand to hand combat with Karo or with practice weapons with Tyiva, it was just fun for her.
“The packbeasts?” Kaiva wasn’t really sure why he was asking, but she also wasn’t sure why they were here. “Sure why not, I don’t need to buy anything from the market anyway.”

[2/7] Svadra noticed that only one sister was with him. How had he missed that? It was uncommon for the triplets to be separate, but not unheard of, so he shrugged before moving to take Kaiva's hand with a smile.
"I don't either...maybe they were kicking us out to yell at Xylia?" He teased lightly, before laughing, "As if she'd ever be in trouble..."
As they moved away from the market, the noises were a little quieter and the smell of hay and animals replaced the cooking meat. They had to be close.

“Xylia would never get in trouble.” Kaiva laughed and undid her crossed arms to allow her brother to take her hand.
“Why do you want to see the packbeasts anyway? They’re all quite smelly.” The Hybrid was definitely not an animal person, and while Karo had one at home, she’d never been fond. She didn’t like riding either and her mothers always told her she was better with a blade than she was with a riding animal. Perhaps her brother was contemplating the life of a rider and that’s why he wanted to see them? Granted coming out here was a lot nicer than staying home that was for sure.

[3/7] He paused a moment before looking over to his sister, "Well, momma says that Alkidike warriors ride great beasts into battle. I wanted to see some here...I know they aren't Jauharian beasts...but Quhar are strong. I haven't seen one up close before..."
He was curious. Sure, he wasn't sure if he wanted to be a rider, but he wanted to look and learn the best he could.
If he did ride, he'd probably ride a Jauhar animal instead...but looking didn't hurt.

“I don’t think they all did.” At least Kaiva didn’t think so. Karo had also mentioned something about riders but she was a hand to hand combat and riding wasn’t a strength for her either. On foot was always best she felt and Kaiva thought so too.
“Maybe you can ask if you can ride one.” Perhaps her brother would come to find that he actually very much enjoyed riding a Quhar and would continue to do so in the future. For her part, she was plenty happy simply observing them from afar, no need to get on anything’s back for a test ride. “I’m sure they’d let you.”

[4/7] Svedra paused a moment, looking over to Kaiva before humming, "Well, if they don't they probably are more quiet. I'm sure riding a big beast into battle would be very loud!"
As he said that, they turned the corner to come in view of the storage pens of the Quhar. The noises and smells were strong, and Svedra covered his nose a moment before looking back toward his sister, "They are really big..."
Did he want to ride one? It would be fun, but would he even be able to climb up?

Kaiva could only imagine the sounds a battle made, especially when there were great beasts to be had. She preferred a more silent approach, one where no one knew you were coming. It was easier that way, to catch them unguarded. She loved to scare her siblings and parents by creeping around the house silently.
“And really smelly.” Kaiva made a face and then pinched her nose shut. “Don’t be scared! You can get up there.” They hadn’t been raised to avoid such a challenge and she was sure her brother would make it up there alright. “Maybe try a smaller one first?” If something happened to her brother though, her mothers would be very angry.

[5/7] "Find me a smaller one and I'll climb it." He deadpanned, looking around before walking up to the caretaker. After a quick exchange, the caretaker shrugged and let him in, mostly thanks to the market coins he had brought along.
"Behold, Kaiva, the great beast rider of Oba!" he said loudly, before hopping through the grass toward the grazing Quhar. It gave him no mind, flicking it's ear, and the attendant walked over to help him shimmy his way up and over the beast.
Settled in, Svedra made a face. The beast was large and it was uncomfortable.
"Maybe it needs a saddle?" He asked questioningly as he shifted.

Kaiva followed along, highly amused by the whole exchange. She leaned on the fence as her brother went in and then actually got on top of one of the beasts. She laughed and clapped her hands at him, he’d actually gone and done it!
“It probably does need a saddle, but don’t look at me.” She had no idea which saddle fit who or what and she wasn’t going to spend coin to get that answer.
“See if it’ll walk!” She yelled from the sideline, maybe Svadra would even get it to run! That would be highly entertaining, albeit dangerous without a proper saddle and such. Still... It would be funny.

[6/7] Svadra looked to the attendant who had already left to take care of the others once he saw Svadra was safe and atop. The young hybrid was a bit chagrined to think what would happen if he had fallen, but he was already there and had to live with it.
Looking down to the beast, he shouted "Move!" and waited. Nothing.
He tapped his heels on the side, lightly, and waited, but the beast simply huffed and ate more food.
After another long second, a sudden fart filled the air and Svadra let out a gasp.
"No, ew ew ew, get me off of this thing! It smells so bad!"

Kaiva made a face and moved away, pinching her nose as her eyes squinted. “Eww you made it fart!” She said allowed making a face.
Nope, she would most definitely not, ever, make a god rider or follow a path that had anything to do with animals. They were gross!
“I don't think it liked you very much,” Kaiva said since the ebast hadn't moved. “Either that or they are way too lazy animals.” She shrugged. “Either way we should get back otherwise the smell will catch in our clothes!” And then their mothers would be angry and they'd have to scrub a million times over before they got the smell out.

[7/7] "I didn't mean to!" He cried out in surprise, moving to jump off quickly just in case the creature decided to do more than fart.
Getting by her side, he let out a sigh, "Maybe they don't make good riding animals here in Oba...or maybe I am not meant to be a rider..."
There were always other classes he could follow if he wanted to become a strong Aishan, and he still had such a long time to go.
Turning to his sister, he nodded and moved quickly away, "Yeah, let's go...and maybe we can grab some sweets on the way!"

“Or maybe this isn’t the right creature to be riding as a rider.” Or at least In her mind she was certain it would never make a good riding animal. Imagine trying to do a sneak attack and the animal farted! You’d be discovered right away just because of the horrible smell.
“Yes let’s get sweets!” Kaiva put her arm around her brother’s shoulders and laughed. Sweets were always a great way to end the day after all. Their sister would really be missing out… Maybe she ought to bring some back for her? Maybe it would prompt her to come with them next time.
