conflict he and his father are both clingy people, and he often waits to hear his father's opinion before taking action, which makes it hard to deal with him, especially considering it's quite obvious to anyone around them that Ralir's father no longer ventures out of the Homewood to heal Vykeli.

Ralir and his father make their den in a ditch they've dug out near some roots, though it has a sloped entrance to make it easier on Ralir's father's knees. He and his father keep records of the days that have passed since they've last seen their friends by making notches in the soil. There are plenty of nut trees around them, surrounded by thorny bushes populated by mischievous squirrels. Some nearby landmarks include a red river gum with a large, noticeable hollow that sometimes plays home to birds, a willow with whooshy branches where Ralir and his father like to sit and talk, and a rocky outcrop with an overhang - not great for permanent shelter, but a reasonable place to wait out the rain.

RALIR story so far
Ralir is a young buck who has grown up with an aged historian for a father. He's heard many stories about the world beyond the Homewood, but has not experienced much of it for himself, largely because his father is terrified to lose him. He chafes at this restraint but finds it understandable, and doesn't want his father to go through more pain.
Ralir, determined to get his gift, proposes a plan his father can't refuse, to venture out to the Grandfather Tree as safely as possible. There, after a vision quest centering on the potential destruction of the home he and his father hold dear, he's bestowed with his gift (Solar) and his very first ability, Warmth.

Now bearing a Gift, Ralir negotiates with his father about being let out of Homewood more during their trek back from the Grandfather Tree.

As they make their way back into the Homewood, Ralir and his father come across an entirely new specimen of plant. The discovery, along with the relief of returning home from a pilgrimage for the very first time, inspires Ralir to search diligently for signs of Vykeli's previous inhabitants.
Ralir ventures forth to start healing Vykeli for the first time, picking the Ruins of Erli as an initial destination. He meets a more knowledgeable doe who invites him to join in her work.

An ascended noul's message by jackhop intrigues Ralir, who joins her party to search for clues about a missing noul. There's a familiar face, but there are also plenty of new ones, one of whom doesn't share Ralir's worldview

He takes down their stories and tries to track when they were last seen in the Homewood. He's somewhat unpopular, though, because he no longer does his duty, so to speak, of healing Vykeli: he thinks it's more important that Ralir has a safe home in him.

Ralir is intended to be something of a blank slate character. He is new to exploration and doesn't have much practical expertise, though he loves to hear about stories of what it's like out there, and he optimistically hopes that someday his mother will be returned safe. In the far future, he'll deal with accepting that she's gone, and has likely passed away.
Romantically, I don't have anything in mind for him. I'd rather something develops over time. If he reproduces, he and his father are likely to be extremely protective of the kids; I don't think he'd do it lightly.
I'd like him to find his personal calling over time and through roleplay, as well as growing into his own, and relying less on his father. He and his father are both still somewhat traumatized by the loss of his mother, despite that Ralir barely remembers her.
I'd love to develop some light pre-existing relationships for Ralir - yearmates who learned and trained with him, or cool heroes who he's met over the course of shadowing his father's work, perhaps. Contact me if you think your noul might fit the bill!

conflict cattleya is, well, catty enough to gossip with the best of nouls, throwing around the weight of her parents' names to get what she wants. but she's beginning to learn that not everything can be solved that way: she can't be around her sister forever; that'd be weird. she dearly wants to be, though.

CATTLEYA story so far
Cattleya is a lucky doe, because all her life, she's had her sister at her side, and plenty of creature comforts from her parents' work. And, because they're twins, they're both finally ready to receive their gifts at the same time, as they deserve. Everything's going to go up from here.
Calelha and Cattleya regroup after they both find success with the tree. Who knows what their future might bring?

quest The world is changing around Iaune, but they'd rather keep doing as they've always done, turning a deaf ear on the consequences that may come about.
conflict Iaune is satisfied - perhaps a bit too satisfied. Much of their problem is that they don't seek things out for themself, and they don't care much when things turn out badly for them. Things upon Vykeli happen the way they will, Iaune thinks, and it's not their business to change the way its other inhabitants interact. Someday, their steady routine of work and meditation is not going to suffice.

IAUNE story so far
Iaune has never been chosen by the Grandfather Tree before, but that's never bothered them, either. They've always done the same work any other noul does, no matter what some might say about the Gift corresponding to true adulthood.
Homewood has been abuzz with gossip about the new leaves budding on the Grandfather Tree's branches. Iaune can't see what the fuss is about, and makes their approach.
After the rain, Iaune likes to go out and search for certain mushrooms. This time, they realize they've found a new plant that their botanist friends have been all abuzz about, too - and they're not gonna say no to that.
The news of Brightheart's upcoming resurrection has Iaune's neighbor excited, and she pushes Iaune to try to find more companionship in their life through it. Iaune isn't planning on agreeing, but they end up thinking about it more than they'd expected.
